Old Home Place

We often visit to pick up treats. My wife loves the raspberry turn overs.I pick up cherry pies except in the spring when the have amazing strawberry pie.

Located at US-35 Frankfort. This is a long standing general country store. The Schwartz brothers started The Old Home Place in 2005. The family are sometimes thought of as Amish, but we also have Mennonite in our surrounding communities. Either way their foods and goods are old fashioned goodness from the farm. Products include bulk and specialty foods, baking and cooking supplies, meats and cheeses, freshly made baked goods, outdoor furniture and other miscellaneous gift items. They are stocked with a wide variety too much to name. There is a well equipped Deli with meats, cheeses, breads, and deserts and sandwiches made to order and homemade sides and deserts. Hubby and I stopped by The Old Home Place while traveling down 35. I saw the sign from the road, took a look on Yelp and had to stop. I was immediately impressed by the smell. It smells like you're walking into your Amish grandma's kitchen. In the first aisle, we found jams we had to buy and sky candles thst smelled amazing. In the second aisle, we were completely entranced by the selection of fresh herbs. Then we fell in love at the meat and deli counter. Amish brands, foods only found in Amish Ohio and tons of tasty things. This is a must stop. Oh, and if you're traveling, yes, they have nice clean restrooms right by the front door!

This was my second visit to The Old Home Place, and I'm still discovering new treats and staples. The in-house snack mixes are delicious and very affordable. The wide selection of different grains, such as different types of rice, is impressive. I'm not sure if there is anything here that I actually need, but this is really a fun place to explore and shop. The turnovers are SO GOOD!

Lots of good things! I especially like their homemade bread and cheese balls. Their corn salsa is great too!

This is a hidden gem! I've been driving down this road for several years and never stopped in. Corrected that today and was pleasantly surprised. Lots of things to stock my pantry (granola, vanilla, spices) as well as my belly (fresh pastries, yogurt parfait). No added sugar jams and jellies, coffee. I'll stop next time I'm down this road. Good place. Chicken pot pie looked good but I couldn't buy refrigerated items today.
