Old Capitol Brewing

We visited this local brewery on our first visit to downtown Chillicothe. Loved the branding, great location, very comfortable seating at the bar. Not a huge selection of beer for the non-IPA drinker; the few beers we tried were all very good. Service was prompt, though not as friendly as one would expect in a small brewery on a quiet afternoon. We eventually did strike up a conversation with the bartender and she was very nice and gave us some good insights on Chillicothe.

I went to this brewery around 4pm on a sunny Sunday. Located in historic downtown Chillicothe, Old Capitol Brewing has contemporary design and local brews. The interior is pretty dark/navy blue/masculine, so I think OCB might be more of an evening destination because it was too dark inside to enjoy the sunny day. Luckily they have sidewalk seating so we could sit outside. I got the nut brown beer, which was nutty and light. The NEPA was also a light pale ale that I'd get again if I went back. I am from out of town so it'll be some time before I get back to Chillicothe. My friends mentioned OCB is busy and usually has a line out the door on Friday and Saturday nights, they could benefit from programming or adjusting to the sun/weather/day drinkers on Sundays.

Great little pub in charming downtown Chillicothe! Good place to enjoy a local brew with carryout from a local restaurant or ask for the peanuts. Really convenient if your EV is charging at the park (just have 1) :-)
