Since I've started working on mid-west campus, I've ordered from the Meat Shoppe a few times. The link is go.osu.edu/meatsales, and you email or call in, with pick-up being on Fridays between 1-4:30pm. This works great for me since I can just run across the street to pick up my orders! So far, I've tried the following items:- Flank steak - great!- Lamb shoulder (boneless) - that student needed a little extra guidance- Bacon - the slicing was a little inconsistent- Tri-tip roast (one of the few places that has them) - one was great and one you could tell the student was not quite sure where the tri-tip was supposed to endAnd I just picked up a skirt steak and some kabob sirloin tips. The location is a little awkward even if you are on campus - it's in the animal sciences building on the southwest corner of Fyffe and Woody Hayes. There are a couple pay meters right in front of the building, or if you've got a permit there are C spots in the court or A/B spots in the lot next to Plumb Hall. Room 110 is up the stairs next to the horse statue, through two sets of glass doors, and immediately on your left. If you want really really local meat, want to support animal science students, and don't mind a little clumsy trimming sometimes, this is a great option! The meat comes frozen, so don't plan on having it for dinner that night! Prices are pretty comparable to grocery store prices (some are better deals than others).
