As you can see how dark it gets!
So love my full size w/d
Rag holding pipe away from wall, dirt on water heater, and water damage on ceiling.
Beautiful flowering trees
Dirt and mouse trap in water heater closet.
New entrance
Walk-in
These cabinets are a safety hazard. They shouldn't be separating from the ceiling.
Drawer won't even open because of oven door handle. (We were told this is in most every unit)
Scuffed up countertops.
Our main door. No frame for the handle and it's scuffed up.
Unfinished painted walls where the washer/dryer should go.
Bungalow I love it it's cozy comfy big balcony
Dirt left on racks.
Mold maybe?? Under the sink.
Remodeled common hall way
Dirt and such they left in the bathtub.
It's great priced
New door entrance
The mouse trap in the water heater closet along with dirt.
Another pic of dirt on racks.
Where the deadbolt should be.

My father lives here full time. He is 80. He's been there 7 months and pays nearly $1,400 on time each month. He has not had air conditioning the entire time. It is 80 degrees, and still no A/C. Meanwhile, they are rushing to prepare new units. They'll make an excuse, as you've seen in reply to other reviews, and often blame the residents, and you'll likely even see that in reply to this review. The excuse given so far for not having AC for 7 months now is the weather, but they also said they just ordered the AC units. So, it is clear it is a financial issue, and they simply can't afford to provide what they have promised. In general, they over-promise, the marketing is a bit misleading, and their units are priced around $300-400 more than they should be. That said, everyone that works there is nice, but they seem to not be given the tools or finances to properly run the complex, which pushes them to be dishonest. The positives: The location is great, and despite what a few other reviews have said it is a safe location and great if you have dogs. The units are a decent size, classic early 1990's type apartments, and large walk-in closets. If you need a quick move-in, and a safe covenant location, and it's a short term place for you, it is still worth checking out, but you have to make sure even the most simple of things are in your unit, like central air, sliding glass door locks, etc. This property has potential, but, they need to value current residents, honor their promises, the care of the basic essentials, and communicate open and honestly with residents. And, if they get the financial end figured out, and provide all the things they promise, and continue upgrades, this place can be a great apartment community. But for now, it's a complex willing to leave an 80-year-old man with heart conditions in 80+ degree heat with no A/C.

September 2021 my furnace broke and had to be replaced. Maintenance installed it, but failed to replace to outside unit as well. March 31 I noticed the AC did not work, so I submitted a maintenance request. It's now been 2 months and nothing as been done. It regularly gets up to 82 degrees in my apartment, so I don't feel safe leaving my dog at home while I go to work. I can't cook in my apartment because the temperature climbs even higher. I have called and emailed multiple times and have been told to be patient. Property manager Jamie Kaur offered me a portable AC unit 2 days ago since it's going to be 90 degrees over the 3 day weekend we're about to have. Nobody brought me one. Today I called to ask when it would be dropped off. Jessica answered the phone and said she'd find out. I never heard back so I called again a few hours later. She said she still didn't know. I told her this was unacceptable living conditions and she said she'd see if somebody could come drop it off now and hung up on me. Nobody came to drop it off. It's hot and miserable and nobody can get anything done for you. I asked if I could get discounted rent for the months I haven't had AC because I'm spending ~$1,000 for a 1 bedroom 82 degree apartment and Jamie said no because this wasn't considered an emergency. I'm sure it's not, Jamie, because you don't have to live in the heat and find a place to take your dog while you're at work. I'd like to mention that the maintenance man, Jared, is really great and nice but he is just one person and cannot keep up with the requests. But tenants should have to suffer for that reason. North woods needs to hire a contractor to help him replace AC units quicker.PS. This all could have been avoided if the furnace was replaced properly back in September. 8 months ago now.

PLEASE DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! Me and my fiancé signed the lease from videos and pictures we saw of the apartment that looked extremely nice. We were moving up here from Florida and couldn't see it in person. The whole complex is ghetto, the garages don't fully close, the apartment itself is absolutely atrocious. We walked in and were absolutely disgusted. There's cobwebs everywhere like nobody cleaned it, no washer/dryer like promised. No microwave, and an extremely dirty water heater closet WITH A MOUSE TRAP!!! Ceilings are extremely short and you can tell they painted over the filth of the old owners. We had to find an apartment quickly since we were homeless. All of the apartments we toured said Northwoods Apartments are what they call scam apartments. All these 5 star reviews are fake because nobody would want to live here for over $1200. Absolutely disgusting and horrendous. Let's see if this gets taken down!

I've been living in this community since July 2023. The few times I've needed maintenance, my issues were taken care of within the 48 hours. The on-site property management has always been there when I needed. My area is quiet with respectful neighbors. I love being able to workout at any time at the complex. I truly enjoy calling this place my home!

If I could give negative stars I would. The worst living experience of my life. Moved in and had maintenance issues right away. Paid extra for a renovated apartment and lived with a hole in my floor for over 6 months. After 6 months they finally fixed it.... but they suck so bad that whoever they hired cause our apartment to flood which caused water damage after the fact that they charged us for when moving out....We had AC issues which took weeks to fix in the middle of summer! To add on to all the issues, we couldnt even speak to anyone. property manager was useless and extremely unprofessional. she refused to talk to us, would never call me back AND blocked my number because i just wanted to talk about the issues we were having. i could live with maintainence taking a while had we been able to discuss our concerns with the management. it was the lack of respect from management and the inability to return a phone fall that did it.do not live here it sucks! truly a horrible experience. they suck DO NOT LIVE HERE!

The windows cannot open, when we arrived the cupboards were fifthly and smelly, and the master bedroom receives noticeably less AC/Heat than anywhere else in the house--colder in winter, hotter in summer. Every part of this apartment complex is cheap, from facilities like the gym to the fridge that opens its freezer door when you close the fridge door. It's also not very safe: my car was broken into and stolen from right in front of my home. The worst thing about Northwoods has to be the lazy, often deceitful approach to maintenance. In the spring my partner discovered the gym's exercise bike was broken, wouldn't power on. I called to ask if it would be fixed and was told that all the gym equipment was going to be replaced in the fall, so it would not be getting fixed. A year later, the same equipment sits broken, ragged, and cheap like everything else. My partner put a request in for the bike, a couple weeks later it was marked completed, and nothing was changed. Our dishwasher broke, we were told it would be replaced in a week. One month later we are now being told it will be replaced in a week, which we only found out because I called them day after day. This is pretty typical of the Northwoods experience. If you can live somewhere else, I encourage you to.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Me and my neighbors have been without a/c for months. When someone finally did come to look at it they said it was over 30 years old and said they would just replace it. No one has came back yet to replace it. My car and many others have been broken into and almost stolen. A stolen car was also brought to our neighborhood. Cops are called here it seems like once a month. The lights outside are all broken which makes me feel very unsafe walking my dog alone. And maintenance leaves their trash it seems everywhere they work! The grounds are disgusting. The dog park is unsafe for dogs and the humans due to panels not being secured. Dogs are getting out and there answer is they don't have the money to fix it. Huge holes in the dog park as well, myself and others have fallen many times due to the grass being overgrown and no one able to see them. The pool is closed again for the second time already since it opened middle of May. This place is a joke.

One more time I have to warn renters to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPLEX. THERE ARE BETTER, NICER, CHEAPER APARTMENTS ACROSS THE STREET. (Remington woods, the sanctuary, ect) DO NOT LEASE FROM NORTHWOODS. No one cleans up trash or dog poop, multiple cars that are totaled taking up parking spots, most buildings don't even have a front door that locks (some buildings don't even have a full door picture below), still dealing with car break ins and police being called regularly...IT IS NOT SAFE HERE.

No idea why Yelp users are so critical. I believe this place has like 4.5 on google. Apartments are huge. I turned dining area into an office (on pic). Fireplace, washer and dryer in each unit. I was paying flat $35 water fee at previous place (no washer) now i pay $10-11 per month using washer when i need it and taking shower daily. Walls are thick and there was only one time in 6 months that I heard my neighbor playing music at night. Me and my dog love the place and highly recommend it!
