North End Tavern & Brewery

What can i really say about this place that nobody has...this place absolutely ROCKS, best burgers in town and possibly the best beer battered fry's I've ever had in my life(also if you do get them get a side of ranch. It's also really bomb). Service is quick and great! Beers here are also so fucking great, ESPECIALLY their ipa, and roadies red. Over all this place is a MUST TRY in the old pburg

Service was bad. Approached too much by staff while waiting on my other half, then had to flag down to actually place a food AND drink order...the food was great-but not for the price. The burger was pretty small. No table wait-needed another staff person on the floor.

Thank you fellow Yelpers!! We just left Athens for a graduation ceremony and it was packed so we decided to hit the next town for lunch. What a find with North End Tavern. Great bar food. I know Bologna is bad for you but they had a a 1/2" thick slice with grilled onions. I didn't get the bread but the Bologna was traditionally awesome. I was singing in my head as I ate: my Bologna has a first name it's O S C A R. My Bologna has a second name it's M A Y E R......We all shared (4 of us) a large basket of potato wedge fries. They were freshly made. This is an historical place that was redone back in 2014. Had an older feel but not as I thought it would.

First off I enjoy retirement, more time to write reviews on places we have gone to and have enjoyed. When I first was told about a NET burger by a coworker years ago. I told what a burger made out of fish?! Wrong. It is the best burger ever. Alethia and John have put up with my spouse and I for along time, but always there has been laughter and smiles. Our errands day would always be great with our treat at North End Tavern. Like kids we would look at the daily food choices, then at the draft beer selection. We have our favorites of both, but with myself I am the more adventurous one. At least when it comes beers. Alethia and John have put up with my zany combo requests like Fall Down Brown with a splash of Pumpkin Ale, I call it the Spicy Fall Down. Dawks Porter topped off with Northern Light is another favorite and so many more combinations. One thing is for sure they have Netted us! I am not just a "customer" I am a friend, we always will make time to stop by, because that is what friends do.

The burger was delicious, my waitress was lovely and quite funny actually, the bathrooms were clean and as well kept as the rest of the restaurant, and the feel of the place was nice almost has a Cheers vibe to it, for those of us old enough to know what that is. I don't drink beer, but alot of others around me seemed to very much enjoy theirs. I would definitely go back!

Good comfort food is a relaxed room. The front desk clerk suggested that we have dinner at "The Net". It took a minute to figure out what she meant and we ended up in the right place.

Had the best BLT ever here. ALOT of crispy bacon! My boyfriend got the Rueben. They do their own corned beef. He said it was the best he ever had. Great atmosphere, people and prices too. Will definitely make the trip back.

My favorite brew and burger. Love the jalapeño bottle caps and the onion rings. Ask for a Necromancer for a different take on their brew. It's Roedys and 5-way half and half. Staff is like a family. And the local atmosphere and "Cheers" like atmosphere make it warming every time you go. Love the Tank Room.
