Noisy Oyster Pub

A local Akron gem for great fish and oysters served daily. Homemade chowder, fantastic wings and burgers.

As a newcomer to Akron, the concept of the Noisy Oyster was intriguing to me. On a weekday evening during dinner time, the space was very empty. We were one of the few to sit at the tables, and a few others were sitting at the bar. On a good note, the creekside view was unique and peaceful, and our waitress was wonderful. On a less good note, the food was very lackluster. Everything from the clam chowder, to the fries, and burger patties was far too salty.

The place was packed . But it didn't seem like an oyster place . It seemed more like a beer joint .. I saw no one else having oysters which sort of alarmed me since I found it by googling "Oyster Bars" in Akron Ohio . It was the only one which came up .. oysters in OhioIs in itself a bit frightening but in a strip center beer joint I was really leery .. but , they were good .. I wouldn't return unless I wanted wings and beer

My wife and I have been coming here for a couple years now and we are always consistently pleased. Despite the recent damage done from a landslide, the staff is working hard and business is booming. The seafood is delicious and a great price but we also enjoy their burgers, steaks, and other entrees. The staff is friendly and really on the ball. We love the neighborhood bar feel.

Listen: I think it's understandable to be skeptical when someone recommends a strip mall seafood restaurant in Akron, Ohio. But enough people whose opinions I trust kept suggesting the Noisy Oyster, and it has quickly become our new favorite. The raw oysters were a real bargain, but more importantly, they were perfectly chilled and fresh. I know this isn't a fancy place, but some mignonette would be a nice addition...The first time, I had the perch sandwich, which was a nice reprieve from the typical deep fried seafood you see. It came just lightly fried in panko crumbs, so it wasn't heavy or oily. The fish was beyond buttery. I appreciated that the lettuce and tomato garnishes were actually fresh and flavorful. The fries were delicious, and the homemade tartar was also impressive (not too much mayo).We've also had wings, the house burger (burger night is one hell of a deal), the Noisy chicken sandwich (loved the jalapenos on that one), fried oysters, and what I'd call New Orleans barbecue shrimp. You can just tell the difference when corners are not cut and even small items are made in-house.I almost don't want to post this review because I want it remain one of Akron's best kept hidden pearls.

The food was out of this world and reasonably priced.The service was very attentive and will to help make it a remarkable experience

We stopped by to meet friends for drinks. We ended up having lunch and it was delicious! They had a special on Mussels and they were great, especially for the price. The broth had a nice flavor. I had the perch dinner. It had a nice thin crispy coating that was not greasy, hand cut fries and homemade coleslaw. The quality of the food is definitely a step up over normal bar food.I was here years ago and when it was just a neighborhood bar. It still has that same neighborhood feel but the menu is much nicer.

Ok so here's the scoop. Jonathon has owned this place for a few years now and has slowly changed the place. It may look the same from the outside but it also looks the same from the inside. Lol... it's cool neighborhood bar vibe has not changed but the food has been upgraded and is definitely amazing, folks and staff are friendly, service is fast, beer is cold! Bonus you won't expect:1. Delicious sea food at a fair price in Akron. 2. river view. (Ok, so it's a small stream, but it's very cool) tough to describe but you'll get it when you see it. 3. Daily food specials that are really a good value. I'll go for their "Not-a-chain" environment, great food and vibe, every time!We love the convenience of the Oyster, for a quick bite and a cold one. "Dilly Dilly Cheers!"

Food is quite delicious and the oysters the one's I consumed were fresh. Service is ok. Maybe a bit more friendly. I'm not a regular though. Ambiance is a bit distracting and different music can be a bit loud. I've only been there a few times. However I do continue to go back.Check it out for yourself. I would say it's worth it.

The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and the food is great. The fried cod is lightly breaded and has a mild, pleasant flavor. The Inferno burger was well seasoned. Not particularly spicy, but enough of a kick to amuse those who like a little bit of heat without having their eyebrows singed.We will definitely be going back!
