Reminds me of street tacos in Texas! Very happy with my experience. Was able to call ahead to place my order for pickup. Very polite on the phone. My order still had a few minutes when I arrived so I was able to get back in the truck to stay warm, they called it out when ready. Really pleased with the portions and prices. I had beef tacos and burrito, threw some lime and salsa verde on top!

I have to start by saying I've driven by Mr. Grill at least a dozen times with the intentions to stop, only to be in too much of a hurry or carrying no cash. This past week, I left the office early and had nowhere to be fast - Mr. Grill was my only stop that afternoon. I hold a high standard for taco trucks, thanks to being baptized into the food truck world by some incredible people on the west coast. Because of this, I was a bit skeptical walking up to Mr. Grill. It's a food truck called Mr. Grill in the corner of a used car lot on Georgesville Rd. You know what they say - books & covers and whatnot. My reservations quickly dissipated when I noticed two gentlemen of Latin ethnicity devouring a pile of what looked like authentic Mexican tacos on a table to the side. Giddy up. First impression at the truck - very solid menu with about eight varieties of tacos, including carne, pollo, carnitas, al pastor, and lengua, as well as 10-12 other of the usual staples (burritos, quesadillas, tortas, tamales, etc). They accept cash only, which is a negative for me. I know some people wave this as a flag of "old school" or "authenticity," but in today's world and the plethora of flexible & portable card readers, some soft of digital payment platform is a must. The truck also carried several posters/flyers for future events where I assume the truck will be present. Most notable - a poorly-designed flyer for a Mexican-themed rodeo of sorts. This is my kind of place. I wanted to get something that would give me a sense of the quality on my first visit to Mr. Grille and went with a couple of tacos al pastor, which is a very old Mexican pork preparation with strong Middle Eastern (namely Lebanese) influences - if that makes sense. It's great for sampling the quality of tacos because it has to be prepared just right to maintain proper moisture, has a very particular & intense flavor profile, and requires careful balance with the other ingredients. Total cost of my two tacos al pastor was $3.00. THREE FREAKING DOLLARS! Bargain City. The woman who took my order, I assume was the owner/operator, and was what you would expect from a taco truck - polite with a sense of urgency. It was a random time of the afternoon, so it wasn't overly crowded and only took a few minutes to get my tacos. I hated refusing sauce, but I wanted to try the tacos in their basic form, so as not to mask mediocre tacos with great sauce or the inverse. Anyways - shut up and get to the point already.TORTILLA: appeared to be a 4-5" white corn tortilla, warmed on a flat topA quality tortilla should never be the focal point - it's a vehicle to carry the passengers. It should be light, soft, and just the right amount of char from warming on the grill, pan, or flat top. A great tortilla should go unnoticed with a good taco, while a bad tortilla will quickly rear its ugly head. This was just about spot-on. Light, soft, not too big, not too small, and warmed perfectly.THE MEAT: pork, prepared al pastor styleThe pork was extremely moist and exploded with flavor. Executed wonderfully; very tender. Strong flavors coming through - lots of garlic and adobo. I do wish there was more trace of pineapple. Regardless, the pork was very good.SECONDARIES: lettuce, sliced tomato, quartered lime, and radishes. Lettuce appeared to be iceberg, which is pretty meh, but it was fresh and crisp. Tomato was a thin half-slice in lieu of diced and was a nice surprise - very fresh and clean. Sliced radish was the real winner. Perfect addition & a dead giveaway on authenticity.I'll definitely add some of their pickled onions next time, as I think those are a must on tacos.THE SAUCE: I believe they had both a chile rojo and a verde sauceAgain - I passed on these so I could get a better taste of the tacos themselves. I'm a sauce freak and will not likely do that again. The red sauce looked to be a smoked chile and tomato-based sauce and the gentlemen at the table may have eaten it in a soup bowl if permitted. Another patron asked for the verde, which I believe was either a more mild-to-medium tomatillo or avacado sauce.EDIT: They have a smoky rojo sauce - likely chipotle-chile based, which I would describe as medium heat, a verde tomatillo sauce, which is mild, and an creamy verde avacado sauce, which is surprisingly hot.The Good: The food, the menu, the authenticity, the stuff that is most important. The Bad: Cash only and the parking is very limited. The Ugly: Nothing.Overall - this was a hit and I'll surely be back. While the name doesn't scream "authentic Mexican taco truck," the menu, the ingredients, and the preparation certainly do. I will be going by that area later today and would be shocked if I don't stop for some la lengua tacos. I'll be sure to report back my findings.

I wish I could give 10 stars This truck is family owned and run by the matriarch of the family - Doña Guera. With a very strong Mexican background myself, I can say her tacos are THE BEST tacos I have ever eaten in my life! Better than that only if you go to Mexico. The tortillas are warmed up on the grill picking up all the wonderful flavors from the Meats and onions that were just cooked. So moist and flavorful!!!All meat options are great:Carne asadaChorizoAl pastorCecina LenguaBUT MY ULTIMATE FAVORITE: *CHICHARRÓN*Every single bite you take of the taco is an entire #foodporn for your palate. She also makes wonderful spicy salsas for the tacos and other dishes available on the menu. It's only closed on Wednesdays. It opens daily at 11am. I eat easily 7 tacos every time... and those grilled onions are the "cherry on the top"If you haven't been there, you are missing out badly!

I'm visiting from NYC, I Got a few burritos from this spot. I must say I was disappointed with them. The meat is good but the burritos are missing beans and rice. This is the first time Ive ever got a burrito without rice and beans. Usually 1 burrito fills me up in NYC, but the burrito I had from here left me with hunger. The only thing the burrito had in this place was lettuce, tomato and cheese. Would be great if the burrito actually came with rice and beans. Other than that the tacos are good.

Best taco stand in Columbus! I moved from Florida 4 years ago and the one thing I missed the most besides the weather and palm trees, is the FOOD. This place is the most authentic I've been able to find, and trust me, I've tried almost all of the stands over the last 4 years. Mr. Grill Tacos ALWAYS has me running back. I've found two other stands besides here that matched the quality of south Florida taquerias, but one of them is closed now, and the other is super far from where I live. Neither of those two can beat Mr. Grill anyways, so I always come running back. My husband and children also adore this place. Go check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed! Also, they have the best prices for tacos compared to other places too! Hands down, my FAVORITE taco place in Columbus, Ohio.

Taco Truck oh taco truck, how I love you oh taco truck. Ok so Romeo I'm not, but I do have to admit, this was my first taco truck visit ever. I had a marathon shopping trip at the Flower Factory and was pretty hungry after and remembered passing a taco truck on Georgesville. After reading all the taco truck reviews here on Yelp I decided to give er a whirl. The taco truck shares a lot with a greenhouse type place right on Georgesville. The truck itself looked older so I thought, hmm this should be interesting. I walked up and checked out the menu posted outside and was shocked at how cheap they were. $1.25/taco, $1.50/Chalupa. I placed an order for 2 pork taco's & 1 chalupa. I should make note that the serving portions are kinda small so if you're hungry, order a few more things than you maybe would. I walked up placed my order and stepped back to wait with 2 other guys. I have to say the wait was like 15 minutes it seemed. The taco's had seasoned pork, that almost tasted like chicken to me. It was flavored very well and was very moist, not dry. They top your taco with fresh lettuce, cilantro, tomatoes & white shredded cheese. Same with the chalupa. Honestly the only difference from the tacos & chalupa's were that the chalupas had a little thicker soft doughy shell. The meals are served with limes and also there are vinegar soaked onions, carrots & jalapenos as an add on for the taking along with 3 sauces. I chose the green mild sauce & it was super flavorful and gave my food an additional burst of fresh herbs and spices, loved it.I'm not a huge flan person, but saw a couple guys eating one so I figured, ah what the hell. I must say it did not dissapoint. Was very creamy and swam in a little pool of a burnt sugar liquid that was the perfect topping for the sweet creamy custard. I would definitely recommend making room for this.Overall would I go here again? Yes. Was I blown away, birds singing, stars aligning, eyes rolling back in my head? No, but it did hit the spot and now I can say I no longer am a TTV..........taco truck virgin.
