Somehow I missed this. For years. I used to go to the Blue Caboose, and the other hobby store on Indianola. And this was right here. beside Weiland's. I must have been distracted by hunger as I headed there, and never noticed this. It's a nice little train store, with not much else (some have plastic car and plane kits.) There's a good book section, with some even straying into other topics. I got Baby K a book, thought about getting a toddler engineer's hat, and marvelled at the trains. We'll be back someday. In the meantime, if you like trains at all, check this out.

Have visited Moody Street Trains several times over the past 6 months or so. Their O scale stuff is for the most part fairly priced, but the people running have an odd attitude. It's not a friendly place.

Moody Street Trains has a very large store next to Weilands Grocery on Indianola Avenue. I met the owner and he knew of Yelp but he was under the impression that he had some reviews already posted. Anyway it's a cute shop and I was glad to be the first to review it. He has just tons of trains and train outfits here. I could have spent hours looking at everything. There are engines and rail cars galore! If you're into model trains this is worth a stop!

My 4th grade son and I drive past this place twice a day. Hes always asking to go in, he is just absolutely in love with the idea of having a train set and has been for years. I'm a single parent and from the few times we have been in, I know what kind of money id be investing, the idea is way out of my budget. So I've been saving for almost 2 years. I thought maybe today as the 1st day of summer vacation would be the day...when we walked in, no hello or greeting just a nasty look and "put your bag by the door please." Incredibly unpleasant gentleman. The look he gave us just by walking in the door insured that I will never spend my hard earned money there. Upon leaving, no goodbye, can I help you with anything..nothing. In the parking lot my 10 year old asked me if I knew the man behind the counter. I asked him why and he said "because he seemed really mad that we came into his store."

Nice store, but clearly only cater to retired folks. Open when everyone is at work, closed when everyone gets off work...?
