Mixin's N Fixin's Country Diner

Great little small town diner! Food was delicious and service was excellent! When I'm back in the area, I would definitely eat here again. We had the Roast Beef Hot Shot, BLT, and Vegetable Beef soup. All of it was excellent, and we'd get it again.

Visited on a Friday night at 5:45. It was packed. But the atmosphere is laid back. I thought I probably could have joined another table and it would have been okay. The food was delicious. They had all you can eat cod or perch for $16. It was a ton of food! You cannot leave this restaurant hungry. It was so delicious!!We enjoyed: the Swiss steak, country fried steak, little piggy chicken strips, and the all you can eat perch or cod. The homemade bread is delicious! Super good! I was a little hot in there, but the giant glass of iced water helped. I recommend this restaurant!

Popped into this classic small town diner with my dad and my brother and his family. This is a great hometown place to get good "rib-stick in" meals like your momma used to make. Portions are good. Everything we had was really good. The side salads are tiny, but the dressings were good. They bring you a fresh loaf of bread as well. I had an open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes. It was really goof. The macaroni salad was delish. My husband got the chopped steak with mushrooms and onions on it. He liked it a lot. My brother got the country fried steak and enjoyed it. Heads up if you use a credit card you pay a 4% convenience charge. They had lots of homemade desserts but we didn't have room!

I stopped by today because I told Mattie I would. She had already got off work. The gal that waited on me was not as friendly or attentive as Mattie. She was friendly to the regulars but not as friendly to me. Mattie treated me like family and that's why I came back. I had the Philly Steak. It was prepared well it had lots of meat. The ratio between meat cheese green pepper and onions was just right. While it was smaller than what I'm used to on San Diego, it did fill me up. It is my hope that they will hire Mattie to do a workshop on how to treat new customers. I will probably be back if I'm driving through town next time I'm in Ohio but I won't drive out of my way to get here. Was disappointed they did not appreciate my Veteran Status.

BreakfastWent to Mixin's N Fixin's country diner, 18 w Sandusky st, mechanicsburg, Ohio, for breakfast this morning, Saturday, 29 January. Man what a waste of time! Apparently if they don't know you, you're going to be waiting for awhile. It took 5 minutes to get waited on (they knew we were here, they told us to sit where we wanted and then even cleaned the table for us). We got our drinks, (watered down iced tea), and placed our order. It was a simple order, omelette with bacon, scrambled eggs with potatoes, bacon and toast ( should only take maybe 5 minutes to make - potatoes are normally par cooked as well as bacon). 10 minutes later, 3 customers came in, was seated (by a waitress - waitress addressed them by name and asked how they have been) orders taken and drinks brought to table. One was s breakfast special (eggs potatoes and bacon with toast) she got her breakfast in under 5 minutes. Then the next order a hamburger, we'll done, French fries and fried smoked sausage and the third order was French fries (they were sitting close enough that I did hear all three orders). In under 5 minutes both of those orders were delivered (yes a WELL done hamburger). We asked about our meal and just 2 minutes later, we were told it would be another 5 minutes or so. Now we've been sitting patiently for over 10 minutes, but when a well done hamburger is ordered after my order and delivered in under 5 minutes, there is something seriously wrong. We told them to cancel our order, and they wouldn't even comp our drinks for the problems (and yes I told them why we were leaving). The thing about this is, I liked their food the last 2 times we were there! Will I go there again? It is very doubtful! they don't know me and I might have to wait for my food because of that. I would much rather go to (won't name restaurant) where everybody knows your name (and I don't like them at all)! Would I recommend the mixins n fixins? Not now I wouldn't, not even to worst enemy.

I have been wanting to visit this place because I have been trying to find a country diner like I found in Texas. This place has good pricing with good food. My only complaint would be that most of their sides lean toward some type of potato product. They have taken the sweet potato fries off of the menu. My wife and I are Keto so white potatoes are not on our diet and sweet potatoes only rarely. My wife ordered cod and they did not batter it for her at her request and then grilled it with lemon pepper. She said it was wonderful. I order the pepper jack grilled chicken. It was awesome. It is over a 30 drive for us but we will probably visit again in the future. Portions were good size and waitress was attentive. Good place.

Friendly home town staff, easy location, good parking for motorcycles, homey atmosphere, very large portions, absolutely delicious food! It's not often o e gets excited about meatloaf, but I'll go back there for it again! Double bacon cheeseburger had enough bacon that I thought I might have added it myself, two half pound patties was a great burger!

Had dinner tonight with my wife. Had the Granny's omelette. Amazing! We were there to pick up a car at the Chevy dealership down the road. Drive all the way from Milford, OH. The omelette was worth the 1 hour and 40 minute drive. Great small town diner feel with excellent service!

Food and service is great! Will be back again! Lunch specials daily. Fried chicken was some of the best I have had.
