Such an unassuming restaurant that looks like it is just a converted neighbourhood house. Its a small dining space but it was pretty empty when I came on a Friday night. There are so many dishes I want to try here and plan to return asap but I did end up getting the vegetable platter as well as the beef stew tibs. There may have been a bit of miscommunication when ordering but it all worked out. Our server was very kind and asked to see if we were familiar with how to eat Ethiopian food (we were) so we just started digging in. Everything was great and well portioned. The veggies were all so flavorful and the stew hot the spot on a colder late summer night. It was everything I wanted.Theres also plenty of coffee and breakfast options that I'm hoping to get a chance to try out. Highly recommend this spot for anyone who already likes Ethiopian food or wanting to try something new.

Located in a residential neighbourhood, this is a cute little restaurant with plenty of parking in the lot in back.I stopped in for dinner around 7:30pm on a Tuesday and it was quiet. I ordered their veggie combo ($13 plus tax; vegan), which came out in ~15 mins. It came with 5 dishes, with the shiro (smoked chickpea) being the centrepiece and the highlight of the meal. I enjoyed each dish though, with the misir wot (top left) and the yellow split peas (bottom right) being the other two standouts. The dark red lentils (bottom left) were also good, but a bit too oily. The guy serving me was super kind and hospitable. Top-notch Ethiopian food for a good price in a comfortable environment. Recommended.

Driving up to the restaurant, I thought it was someone's house. Then I turned onto the street, and saw the large parking lot. Not sure if it was theirs, but parked there, and had no issues. Walked into a small room filled with smoke from a coffee ceremony. There was a half dozen guests inside, all Ethiopians. They welcomed me inside and had me take a seat while the waitress was in the kitchen. We took a while to decide what to get, and chose the tibs, not spicy. It smelled and looked so good that I forgot to take a picture, and we devoured it. It tasted as good as it smelled and looked. I can't wait to come back here to try more dishes, and the fact that they're so close to the airport makes it easy to stop by when I'm visiting. Service was a bit slow, but it was excellent.

This is a super cute, intimate shop. My friend and I came here to catch up. The service was amazing and the owner is very nice. I ordered the Latte($2) and the Tibs($12.99). Everything was delicious! It was my first time having Ethiopian food and I think I am hooked! I will definitely be back :)

Saw this place and stopped for Ethiopian coffee. It's very strong but smooth with good flavor. I put sugar and some milk. It's served in small cup and pot. I tried a beef dish with injera that was very good.

Ordered thru food service and picked up in Whitehall. Customer service or lady who greeted me was friendly. Restaurant is small and has private parking. I ordered the Doro Wot and food was indeed hot and delicious.

Favorite restaurant EVER. I came here for my graduation and birthday dinner, and pretty much once a week. I'll come with just a short amount of time and enjoy the greatest cup of coffee and most likely get my meal to go if I don't have time to sit. I order the derek tibs with a side of cooked greens. Always made with love

my bad, I was there July 2023, forgot to post a review- and had a totally splendid delicious and hugely generous meal, as good as any Eritrean/Ethiopian food as I've ever had. go there and feast, you will NOT be disappointed. I live in Santa Fe which is sort of cuisine-challenged actually and will do anything to eat Ethiopian food wherever I can find it. best regards and blessings to the Mini Ethiopia Coffee House!
