We stopped by here today looking for bulk spices for pickling the produce from our organic farm. Bulk spices are often way less expensive in these markets. We were looking through the shelves for about ten minutes and were completely ignored by everyone though we were the only people in the market. We are well dressed clean anglos in our sixties. When Muslims came in in their garments and hajabs etc they were greeted warmly with deference. We've spent enough time in third world countries to have been here before but really? This is America. These people are are all welcome at my business. I don't judge and try to undestand other cultures. Why are we not welcome? The spices btw were all packaged and of dubious age and quality. The celery seed was at least half fiber and the mustard seed so old that the black and white looked alike. Maybe there's a lesson there.

Best place in columbus for young goat and organic chicken. It's tucked away in a small strip mall. The folk inside are Arab and very friendly.Always ask for organic chicken. It's usually not kept out on display. The organic chicken tastes so very different from what we get at the supermarkets.

I visited Marrakesh Market this week for the first time this week and I cannot understand how this grocer stays open. I was hoping to buy paneer cheese, which they carry, but what was on the shelf expired over 2 months. Other cheese products were literally moldy and expired. Canned goods and boxed on the shelves were expired. Every single item of produce on the shelf was rotting. I cannot understand how this store turns a profit.

Decided to go in for the first time today after dining at The Olive Tree next door to grab some lentils and produce. Not a fan of this market. I've been in several Halal meat markets, especially in Hilliard, and this one's on the bottom of the list. Keep in mind many of these markets specialize in the meat, which is the main focus due to it having to be specially prepared for faith. All other departments here suffer. The grocery isn't very well stocked. Several open packages on the shelves. Many aisles need faced off so you know what you're looking at. The bulk lentils were almost out--bought bagged instead. Asked the employee if they had chicken stock, then chicken broth, then just stock and broth after what seemed to be confusion in what I was looking for and he said they had nothing like that. Then I turned and found chicken stock behind me (some of them open.) The fresh cilantro was dead--dried up and shriveled bunches. Parsley beside it looked somewhat okay. Peppers were wrinkled and on their way out. Yet, like I said, meat here is the main focus. All of it looked fresh and well prepared. Also, many times these markets are run by only one or two people doing EVERYTHING so if you check out and there's no cashier they're probably in the meat department. They seem to always be aware of who's there and when you're ready. Just be patient. If I had to choose I'd pick Casablanca up the street over Marrakesh. More variety, fresher produce and better stocked.

First of all, I am shocked no one else has reviewed this nice little Halal (meat that is permissible to eat and slaughtered according to Islamic law) market in Hilliard. It has been in Hilliard for years and was of the first to serve the Muslim community here. It might not be the most pleasing to the eye, when you go into the market, but it has a good variety of international items for Middle Eastern, Indian, Bengali, Somali, and Northern African cuisine. When I get in the mood to make some international cuisine especially Bengali food, I need to find some Bengali spices which seem to be expensive at your local large grocers. I make my way to this small international market and always find the spices for cheap and usually they are better quality here. I have had bad luck buying some spices at large grocers. Marrakesh has a large selection of Indian/Bengali spices for a great price. They also have a whole aisle dedicated to mixes to make the cooking process easier. I prefer to buying the spices myself but once in a while a mix is cheaper and easier to buy. They have bulk supply of lentils, rice, and couscous. I also could find a variety of ghee, tahini, olives, and dates. They have one aisle against the wall with frozen products and drinks. They also have halal meat behind a deli counter. I think this may be the heart of their business as both workers were behind the counter cutting when I entered. The workers were polite but you may have to wait to check out if the meat area is busy. They also speak perfect English because I know some people are hesitant to walk into international markets for fear of communication. No problem here. This place is perfectly located in Tinapple Plaza beside The Olive Tree and Subway.

Every time I go into Marrakesh, the staff gets me exactly what I need and ask for. I ask for the chicken I get to be cut up and they never have a problem doing that for me. Favorite place to buy meat

The brother that owns the market is so kind and humble and is always going above and beyond to give good customer services despite being the only one working sometimes. The prices are good and he has a good selection of goods.
