I am Disappointed. Hatred, Blatant Racism, and Unconscious Bias that equate to racism are all wrong. My husband and I just picked up our dinner from a local restaurant near this store. As we walked up the stairs, we exchanged greetings with another shopper (a white female). When we reached the top of the stairs, we turned left towards the bar/liquor store. A white woman who worked there was sitting at the bar reading a newspaper. She looked up over her glasses and, in a very abrupt and accusatory tone, said, "CAN I HELP YOU?" My husband instantly turned around and walked away in disappointment. I responded, "Hello, we're just looking," and followed him. While in the adjacent wine section, I told my husband, "She was kind of rude." He replied, "That's exactly why I walked away. We'll get some wine and pay downstairs." Now, stay with me for a moment. The area was well-lit, and there was a glass divider separating the two rooms. While I was considering my options for a red blend near the back wall my husband looked at the white wines. In a more welcoming tone, the same woman who had been sitting at the bar addressed another shopper (a white male) in a very welcoming and charismatic voice, saying, "Hi, how are you? What can I help you with?" as she walked over to him with a smile. I instantly recognized the difference in her demeanor. Even my husband noted, "She didn't talk to us like that." We then proceeded downstairs to the customer service desk. My husband felt I shouldn't share my concerns because this behavior happens daily, and he believed nothing would change. However, I decided to speak with the manager, Sabrina, who kindly listened to my experience. Sabrina responded by saying "Well, I've never had anyone else complain about her as an associate and repeated it to me twice before saying, but I'll look at it." That was not the response I was hoping for; an apology would have been welcomed. However, I honestly do not know what I expected. I do not want the associate to lose her job or anything crazy, but her attitude toward us was crazy and offensive. Should she be educated? Yes, absolutely. Had the roles been reversed, I would have likely been fired, handcuffed by an all-white group of Bexley Police officers, and charged with assault and misconduct of some magnitude. Or I could have reacted in the same way as the associate, inappropriate, disrespectful, and racist, and I still would have been arrested in the same manner mentioned above. I'm so sick and tired of the racism and hostility. My husband and I are educated, working-class humans who respect others and deserve to be treated equally, just like every other customer, no matter what we look like or how we identify. We may be only two of many shoppers, but I will not be returning to the store at all. I am disappointed. Hatred, blatant racism, and unconscious bias that equates to racism are all wrong.

What an awesome find! Love this location and wish they set up more this way! The food is well stocked, it's very clean and not some huge parking lot to worry about where to park. Love it!

I stumbled onto this place when I was walking around Bexley. I didn't need anything, but left with a few items. They have just about everything here grocery-wise, and the prices aren't bad. I think it's serviced by Giant Eagle. It has two floors and a Starbucks! It has a hipster vibe.

My wife and I love this location! I'm going to admit that I'm ridiculous and shop based off of appearance. The produce is always so fresh and I've literally never seen a bad piece of fruit or vegetable. The downstairs area consists of the meat and seafood, Starbucks, already made food, frozen and produce items. All of the snack items and beer are located upstairs, which is good for me because I can stay downstairs and avoid all of the unhealthy foods.

Giant Eagle Market District is a great grocery store addiction to the city of Bexley. I come here to buy little items such as bread, snacks or prepared foods. It is an expensive grocery store and before this location opened, I would frequent the Kroger store just down the street. I will say that this location has a large amount of organic food products and natural products which is wonderful. The staff has always been friendly when I come here. A previous review that I read said that the store smells when you enter. I have not smelled any bad smells inside the store. It smells fresh to me. Infact, the store is always clean. The store is quite large with both an upstairs and downstairs location but it isn't as big as most grocery stores. Let's face it, how much stuff do you really need to buy anyway? I guess I'm becoming a minimalist....haha.There is also a Starbucks cafe inside on the first floor. Upstairs has a seating area attached to the Market District bar. There is an elevator on the first floor that takes you up to the 2nd floor or you can take the stairs up.Come on by. I would recommend this store in Columbus (Bexley).***- This is my 169th total Yelp review.- I have written 123 Yelp reviews in 2018.

Oooh, we are gettin' so fancy here in Bexley with a grocery store of our very own! No, that Kroger doesn't count. Just no. This Market District Express is a smaller, two-story, more neighborhood-y type of concept store instead of the other behemoths in town. While I certainly miss the never-ending selection of those bigger stores, I actually love having a place where I can quickly and easily run in to buy food for dinner and get right out. The layout of the store is hit-and-miss. The first floor is good, but ooooh that second floor... it's rough. First, let's talk about the elevator. I've been to lots of two-story markets in other cities and countries, and they use cart elevators to efficiently get everyone where they need to go. But not us -- we have a single elevator that causes so much commotion and confusion. My other big irk with the second floor is that damn restaurant. If it were spectacular, I wouldn't be angry that it's taking up 1/4 of the store. But it's not. Side note: In the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Giant Eagle CEO declared The Table was the best restaurant in the Columbus area. She probably shouldn't have done that. While the selection at this MDE isn't grandiose, what I really appreciate is how they are constantly getting new products that the customers want. I'm also really pleased with the gluten-free selection! The prices here are ridiculous. Period. The star of the Bexley MDE is the people. They are outstanding! I'm in here 3-4 times/week, and every single person is incredibly friendly and helpful. I also love how efficient they are -- there's never a long wait, and the cashiers are fast. The entire staff is always out and about and are eager to assist -- no one is running away or shiftily dodging their eyes away from you. So, there are some ups and downs with the MDE, but in the end, I have a fab grocery store at the end of my street!

It smells like fish everywhere. Had to hold my nose as I left without buying anything. I can't go back inside, but if you like the smell of fish this is the store for you.

I'll pre-face by stating that I am not a Giant Eagle shopper. Studies show they are, on average, $1-1.25 more than Kroger. The space inside this grocery store is small. The aisles are compact and there's not a lot of room at all for standing around. I only go to GE if I need something small and quick to eat, or for their salad bar. I needed something to hold over till dinner, so I decided to walk to this Market District. It's much, much smaller than other MDs I've been to. Selections are smaller. There's no prepared food stations, here. Why, I wonder, is this location a "Market District" and not just a "Giant Eagle"... Guess maybe because there's a restaurant taking up the second floor? The salad bar is on the smaller side, but housed all the necessary toppings I like. I would hope they keep it well-stocked during the day/evening. I got some of there prepared, cold, Chef's Antipasto. Colorful, lots of different veggies, and salami chunks for protein. Nothing special, but filled me up till dinner. The checkout's a bit cramped, just FYI. I would like to come back and try out their restaurant, if ever in the neighborhood.

Stopped in for a few things since it was on the way home. Small, and on a small lot, but packed inside and well-organized. Pretty much the same selection as a regular Giant Eagle.Service was good, the atmosphere is nice, and it is in a great location. Don't forget to go upstairs, though all the basics are downstairs. Plenty of parking out back on a Saturday night.

I have had several bad experiences at this store. Today......every single employee I encountered had AirPods in their ears and had to "tap" their ear to answer a question about a product. The produce section is virtually nonexistent. There were 3 empty contains with signs designating green, red, yellow peppers. Most bins were empty or poor quality produce. I cook a lot......green pepper should be readily available yes! Shallots 2 for 5.00!). Hoping maybe truck was being unloaded in back...so I went to guest services. She took her AirPods out begrudgingly...I asked about the status of fresh peppers. She call an associate in produce.....response we ain't got any. I said you're kidding.....nope ain't got none. I suggest maybe putting up a sign so other customers would not waste time talking yo customer service.........just a simple sign like...."We ain't got no peppers". I then went to meat counter looking for link sausage......the service person was clearly irritated...had to tap his air pod and address my request. He stated we go some sausage down there. I kindly had to ask him to accompany me to the display. No link sausage....he checked back cooler, then freezer again no luck as he got his groove back on his iPods. I got on the elevator to pick up wine and this loud, unaware customer is screaming on her ..you guessed it iPods and just barrels her cart into mine completely unaware. No apologies as I got to ride upon the elevator with her sreaming at the MFing utility companies. I take the bait.......every single time. I just needed a few items for a quick dish....disappointed every single time. I will not be back.....Arlington for pharmacy, and now grocery. What is wrong here!?!?!?
