Marcia Evans Gallery is wonderful gallery in the Short North Columbus neighborhood.A friend and I have visited Marcia's gallery for a number of years, as we've stayed at the B&B nearby and we always stop by when we're in Columbus for an afternoon, as she's always so friendly and welcoming, but also allows you to take time to view and take in the art in the gallery. She has rotating group of artists in the gallery and one of our favorites is Annette Poitau, her colorful abstract art with vibrant colors and just the right amount of varnish are remarkable pieces. This past Saturday finally one of Annette's pieces called my name and proud to purchase and bring a piece home. The art in the gallery is affordable and variety of sizes, from pieces you could put on an office desk, to main focal point in a home or business.Marcia's gallery is a must while you're in Short North!

Wonderful little gallery with a warm atmosphere and a new show every month. Follow Marcia on social media to get word about her opening nights where she has been known to provide tasty goodies, wine and live music.

Marcia Evans Gallery is small but full. The current showing is Glass and Canvas, a mixture of colorful glass vases by CCAD professor Dawson Kellogg and abstract paintings by new artist BJR Brian Reaume.Marcia Evans shows largely contemporary and abstract art. Past exhibitions include abstract paintings by Petersen Thomas, prints by Scott Smith, blown glass by Joan Schneider, sculpture by Jaye Bumbaugh, and collages and totems by Andre Lidgus (of Poplar Park). The offerings at the gallery are high end.Along with gallery showings, Marcia herself offers consultation to both businesses and individuals, and she does art appraisals. The exterior of the shop is brightly painted blue with yellow trim. It's inviting.Inside, the gallery is tiny and tidy with tile floors and chunky wood bookshelves to show the glasswork. You're likely to be the only one there, which is nice because you can take your time and look around without bothering anyone else. But I wish there was more to look at. The art is lovely, but the one showing room is almost too small.
