This isn't the biggest farmers market in the area but since it's only about a mile away from my house it's a good choice. It starts at 9 which is nice cause it lets me sleep in some. It's located on the sidewalks along downtown. Giving you a nice chance to shop the market and the stores and restaurants. The market has a nice mix of produce and handmade goods. There's one stand that sells glazed donuts the size of your head for only $1.25. Do not pass those up lol.

Fresh produce is only a portion of this Farmer's Market- there's meats, cheeses, flowers, crafts, donuts, breads, danish, organic homemade dog and cat food, etc. The stores along the street stay open for the Farmer's Market, so there's even more options there, too! The streets are not closed off or blocked, so traffic is still coming and going during the market. That might be important to note, as other markets I've been to close off their streets. That's no deal breaker, though! There is so much here, with so many different vendors each time we go. Missing the Main Street Delaware Farmer's Market would honestly be a tragedy. How can you pass up fresh tomatoes and avocados, hand picked corn, carrots or peppers? The prices are fair, too. Today, my boyfriend and I got 3 full sized carrots, 4 avocados, a pint of peaches and tomatoes, 6 jalapeno peppers, 4 ears of sweet corn, and 2 big sweet roasting peppers. We got all of that produce (plus loads of free samples!) For under $14.Stop by on Saturdays from 9:30am to noon and Wednesdays 3pm to 6pm!

Main Street Delaware does many things that are prominently visible in the community, like First Fridays, Cash Mob, the community Christmas celebration, and premier events like Design Awards and the Fine Art, Food and Wine gala. What people don't see is that Main Street Delaware is also doing so much more behind the scenes. They are offering new entrepreneurs advice, training and insights on how to successfully run their business, they are keeping the Downtown alive while preserving its rich history, and they are invested in seeing success locally. Stop in to the new storefront on E Winter Street or say to Frances Jo at the Farmers' Markets on Wednesday afternoons from 3-6 or Saturday mornings.

Awesome. This organization is the only one that actually cares about Delaware. The rest give it lip-service. From the tireless efforts of Jo Hamilton, to the wonder of First Friday and the Farmer's Market, Main Street shows what is good in a small town!

Tonight's 2013 "Artful Spaces Tour" was spectacular, if you have not come down yet, there's still time. After tonight you'll have to wait till June 2014. This is Main Street Delaware's signature event, and most attended for any year.

Only a few people know much Main Street does for the city (that is kinda sad). And to clarify - IT IS MAIN STREET that does the flower pots, does First Friday and the Farmers Market. Main Street does the Christmas Parade and the tree and tree lighting. It is MSD that organizes all the VOLUNTEERS who make up the greatness that is Delaware. They even help the new businesses get going and it NOT the city. Not 'anti-city' thing, simply put, MAIN STREET needs it's due. They make Delaware GREAT with the unreal effort they put forth!
