I live near the Mad Moon Taproom but wasn't aware of its existence. It is tucked away in the back of an industrial complex. Parking was not an issue on my visit. The Taproom is typically only open on Saturday evenings but I attended a private event on a Sunday afternoon. The interior has some seating alongside the many different brewing tanks. I started my visit with a flight, which included 4 tasters. I am not a huge cider fan, but the ciders I tried were all pretty good. They were not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the pineapple cider (Pineapple #10). Hella Good Blueberry Pomegranate was also good. I also got a full sized glass of the Hunky Dory Apple Pie. This drink had a strong hint of cinnamon along with apple.Mad Moon is worth a visit if you enjoy ciders. Their Facebook page advises when they have food trucks and other events.

Yes, Downeast, we are sitting here in Columbus enjoying some Downeast cider. I was looking online and discovered your place. Wow, my wife and I love cider so it sounds like you're right up our alley. We gave you this review in anticipation of coming to taste your ciders. We can't wait, my name is Leon and my wife is Donna. Will see you soon!

This is a pretty neat little spot! Mad Moon Cider has been around for several years now but I think the tap room is a newer place. I randomly found it on yelp and being a new cider fan had to come check it out. So on a rainy Saturday, my bf and I decided to finally check it out! It's defiantly a little confusing to find. Nor is it in the best part of town. Google maps doesn't seem to be aware of the actual road they are on, as it only took us to the Cleveland Ave and didn't actually guide us the rest of the way. I've included the map from their website that shows how to locate them. There is a large green Mad Moon banner on the corner Cleveland Ave and Britains Lane- turn there. Then continue to follow the green signs as you wind your way through what looks like a storage unit complex but I think is actual businesses. It can be a bit sketchy but I promise it's worth it. I've had a couple of their ciders on tap at local bars/restaurants but didn't make the connection until we were there. BrewDog, Pins, Pies and Pints all has their ciders along with several others. You can find a full list on their website of where you can buy their ciders, in bottles or on tap. We started off with a flight- 4 ciders for $10. They are decent sized pours, too. Since their menu isn't huge, we opted to go this route to try multiple ciders (there are 7 total). I still wasn't totally sure which one I wanted to order a glass of and they let me sample a couple others on the menu to decide. I ended up ordering the Tangerine Dream and my bf had the Eat a Peach. They were all good though! While the tap room is fairly small, they have more tables in another room next to the bar area. In here they had a TV and several games for use so we decided to play Yahtzee and Candy Land while we enjoyed our ciders. I love when places have games available as we rarely play them at home and it gives us something fun to do while enjoying our drinks. Definitely worth the trip to check this place out! I was surprised how many people were there/stopped in while we were there considering it's not the easiest place to find and I don't think the tap room's existence is all that well known. So that was great to see. Always great to check out and support local!

I had no idea Mad Moon had a brewery so close to home! My review won't be about my experience finding the place and getting there (this place is past all the meteor-sized pot holes, past the nameless warehouses and other businesses), but about my great experience once I finally arrived. Outside, you notice the place isn't a huge operation like what I think of when I think of breweries. I think that's what made the place charming and cozy. There were seats and tables set up for customers to enjoy the warm sunny weather. Additionally, there was even a food truck stationed here (it was Machi Hibachi, seriously delicious!). We stayed here for awhile rotating between playing board games and checking out the brewery inside to lounging outside while drinking the different ciders. The bartender was really helpful and accommodating as well! I had no idea what to try first, so she provided us little samples of their ciders. My favorite ciders were the Tangerine Dream due to its semi-sweet burst of orangy flavor, and the Moon Dust because I think cranberry flavor goes great with everything. However, I think it's AMAZING that their ciders aren't all sweet and fruity and they appeal to other flavor preferences. They have the Swell Cold Brew Cider which is their coffee cider, and their famous PB&J cider which is a really unique cider flavor. I tried both of these and they're both great! Whenever I find out someone enjoys ciders, I plan on definitely directing them to this place!

Covid review!Limited hours, but enough time for a flight of ciders.I mean, their ciders are good. And I'm glad I finally made it out to the taproom! The bartender helped make suggestions to give me the best experience (always a plus!) and never made me feel rushed or like I was "inconvenient" since it was close to closing time. It's a little hard to find - the signs when you pull into the beat up driveway are small and easy to miss - but keep going to the back to find them, and get a solid flight of Ohio ciders. I wanna come back! It's just so far away :(

I love cider, so a cider bar is right up my alley! My friends and I got flights of cider so that we'd be able to try several. The employee did a great job of explaining the different ciders they had on draft. The PB+J cider was the most interesting, it had kind of a salty flavor to it. Other than that, they had a wide range from sweet to dry!It was a little tricky to find -- it's in kind of group of storage buildings, some with offices in them, etc. They did have (at least) one sign that we noticed on a fence pointing us in the right direction, which was helpful! But just know that you're probably in the right spot, even if it doesn't seem right at all!

I absolutely love these ciders (you can find one in lots of businesses around columbus on tap) so OF COURSE I had to visit their tap room. Admittedly so I was nervous to come out this way, as its not in an amazing area, however, with where the tap room is actually located it feels okay. The actual location was a little hard to find as the road isn't labeled. You should turn on the access road right past Huy(?) road and right before the international market. We were greeted and served by one of the owners. She was so friendly and talkative. I loved getting to learn more about the cider I love so much. The company has been bottling for about 4 years but just recently opened their taproom a year ago. I got a flight (4 ciders for $10) but you can also get a glass for $6. I tried :tangerine dream - AMAZINGunglued caramel apple - kind of just an apple cider to me Maui Wowie - very ginger and pineapple-y, loved itEat a Peach - my favorite, literally bought a six packAll of them were so good, even others that I've tried elsewhere. Highly recommend checking it out!!

Love this spot! I've had Mad Moon quite a few times locally, but had not realized that they had a tap room until more recently. The location of the tap room seems a little odd as you're driving back into a storage area, but I've seen that a few times before with breweries. They do have some signs to help point you in the right direction as well. Also, this spot is a little off the path from other breweries in the area, in a more up and coming location, but the inside is well decorated and cool. I loved the bright colors inside the taproom, and they offered single drinks or flights. There were quite a few options to choose from and the bartender was great with helping us choose our flight. It was great to see another locally made product doing well, and I will definitely be back to try out some more ciders!

If you have not been here, you need to get here. It's my favorite brewery. I can't have gluten so I love cider, but even my brother, who used to be skeptical of my love of ciders has declared that one of this all-time favorite beers is here (okay, it's not beer, it's cider, but it's alcoholic and delicious). They have lots of amazing flavors (usually at least 8 to choose from, and you can do flights), my favorites are the swell cold, a coffee cider (sounds crazy but it works) and tangerine dream. Plus the staff is sooooo kind and friendly. I've brought lots of people here and they have loved it. It's kinda a crazy location, and it's small, but I think it adds to the charm. If you enjoy doing the cbus ale trail you need to check this out, it's not in the book, but you won't be disappointed.

Well- I will tell you that I am glad that we managed to stop here and taste eight siders on tap before heading to the airport. Honestly I think this could be my favorite cidery that I've come across in my travels. Run by a husband-and-wife team, they produce fascinating flavored ciders that are not too sweet not to dry. ABV's range around 6%. We sat and chatted for a while while we enjoyed all of their offerings. My hands-down favorite was the Cider brewed with tea. They are located in a somewhat hard to find industrial park, and have a tiny tasting room supplemented by more seats in the Brewing area. If you're in Columbus and what a treat I highly recommend making this a stop.
