Not the same looking Steamed Dumps as shown in their reviews. Likely homemade as they claim, chicken-based, somewhat overcooked/soggy.
Dinner for two: under $30!!

The server who identified himself as Derek, thought that arguing would be a great way to win over the customer.

Sigh. Glad I just ordered the lunch portion of Tofu Lo Mein. Sooooo greasy, just greasy noods and greasy undercooked tofu spears.
Singapore Noodles @ColumbusFoodDude
Pork egg foo young. Just not what I expected. The Pattie's are hidden and meat not cooked onto them. All on top.

Picture this: It's Labor Day, most every Chinese restaurant in town has shut its doors, and my craving for Chinese food has hit me like a freight train. All hope seemed lost... until this place came through like the MVP of Chinese cuisine. I don't know what kind of holiday magic they were running, but they saved me from a noodle-less, rice-free disaster.I ordered pepper steak, chicken fried rice, and their "everything" fried rice for the fam. And let me tell you, I went full-on chef mode and added Yum Yum sauce to the "everything" fried rice (I forget what it is called tbh), and BAM--instant perfection. I'm talking "could eat this every day and still not be tired of it" level. The pepper steak was tender, the fried rice was packed with flavor, and that "everything" fried rice? Let's just say it should be renamed "best decision of my life fried rice." With that Yum Yum sauce, it was the culinary equivalent of winning the food lottery. To the other restaurants that were closed: Your loss. To this Chinese restaurant: You're the real Labor Day MVP. My cravings are eternally grateful. Would 100% fake another holiday just to order again!

Now that I'm back in Westerville for work, went back to my old favorite for lunch. First lunch plate was kung pao chicken. Second lunch today was Phoenix and dragon (shrimp and chicken). Lots of shrimp and chicken, as well as broccoli and pea pods. Both dishes were very good. I should have spiced up the Phoenix and dragon. The white sauce was good but a little extra kick would have been better.

Had a taste for Chinese food and convinced my husband he did too! So we decided to try somewhere we hadn't been to and what we came up with was Lucky House. Parking was easy, breezy. They have a large dedicated lot. We pulled in. It was almost completely full (good sign). Inside was also packed. Lots of take out orders were ready for pick up on their counter (another good sign). The inside seems a bit dated but everything seemed in good condition. I ordered golden chicken and my husband chose Hunan chicken. We were served our food fairly quickly. The golden chicken was perfect for me. Not too spicy. Not too sweet. It had a lot of vegetables (carrot, onion, mushrooms, green pepper) and the chicken was cooked perfectly. What I liked about this dish is there was no greasy after taste. It was delicious. I would order it again. Now none of this seemed like very authentic Chinese food... it was very Americanized - but who cares, it was really good.

What a pleasant surprise! I heard good things about Lucky House and wanted to try someplace different and am glad we did.Stopped in for dinner on a Friday evening and they were very busy. Only a couple of tables available and counter was loaded with takeout. While the interior decor is a little dated the service and food were exceptional. Server staff were prompt and attentive. Our food was done surprisingly quick. I got the Hunan Chicken and enjoyed it.We will be adding Lucky House to our list of Chinese restaurants.

I searched to find a Chinese restaurant that had egg foo young, and this restaurant popped up. Although egg foo young was not on the menu, I noticed someone on Yelp mentioned it in their review. When I arrived to the restaurant, I asked did they have egg foo young, and they did. I ordered the vegetable egg foo young with fried rice and an egg roll. When I opened the container, I noticed a lot of vegetables in gravy on top of the two large egg patties. I have never seen this before, as all the Chinese restaurants that I have been to cook the veggies in the egg patties, and include the gravy in a separate container. Well, no big deal -- each restaurant has their own way of doing things. Now, the taste. Although I enjoyed having plenty of vegetables on the egg foo young, the gravy had no taste. It tasted like water-downed gravy. I had to add a lot of soy sauce to give it some flavor. The fried rice was okay, and the egg roll was delicious. I guess it was my fault for ordering something that was not on the menu . I am sure other items on menu may be good as this restaurant has good reviews, but I will never find out. The price for my items was $14+, and it was not worth it. I have gotten the same items at other restaurants that taste better, and for less price.

So I found myself in Westerville, Ohio (again) hungry for some lunch. My last try at the China Garden Buffet was close to horrific, but decided to roll the dice and try out a place for takeaway just across the road from that one called Lucky House Chinese Restaurant. Reviews online for this place seemed beyond decent and I'm always hunting for amazing Americanized Chinese food. So what the heck....let's see if we get, ummmm - Lucky. Nice enough looking place inside when I walked in, kitschy tiki-hutish decor in a nice large stand-alone building with dedicated parking lot, the way OG Chinese restaurants used to act. So my hopes for a good score were high. Anybody who knows me knows I can be picky af about my Cantonese cuisine. Overall, while shades better than the other place, nothing I ordered screamed "HEY COME BACK AND BUY ME AGAIN." Guess I'm jaded and still on the hunt for the ultimate holy grail of a very aged and seemingly no longer loved Asian cuisine I prefer "old school family owned little kids playing in the dining room tv blaring waving kitty cat hole in a strip mall" kinda places. Like I grew up with; hell I even worked at a couple in my youth. They're out there. If anybody can point the way, let me know.Item comments in captions if interested.

Used to love this place. It used to be really good. We lived closer to this area in the past and after moving away we would come from out of town and go here specifically. But our last few times there were probably actually our last. While most of the staff are nice enough and provide good service, the food portions not only have shrunk in size and increased in price....but have just become not worth those increased prices. And the Orange Chicken last time we were there was tough like shoe leather with orange sauce on it. Sent it back and the older Chinese lady manager came out and I showed her how tough the meat was. She came back with the bill with half off the one dish. I insisted I didn't want to pay for shoe leather with orange sauce. She finally removed it after some tense exchange back and forth. Also the windows in there are unbelievably dirty and disgusting. Take some pride in your restaurant and clean stuff. The upper windows look just about translucent now with so much dirt and grime. It turned my stomach. Sorry Lucky House we are no longer going to be customers. It used to be good there. The place seems to be on autopilot and is no longer worth the price at all.

I know it's not like the best there has ever been, but they do a good job! There is one waiter who knows us so well he keeps the Coke coming for my husband! It's so funny and he's so kind! The food is good, they have some yummy dishes and I love the tofu lettuce cups! We appreciate that we can come into this restaurant and it's clean, calm and the service is very speedy!
