I moved from the area about 20 years ago. My father still is very local. Upon seeing a post, that a friend I went to school with at Philo shared. The post stated that this location was helping the less fortunate with food during the pandemic. I decided to give the pizza a shot. I am delighted to say that the pizza is good! Crust is a soft medium thickness and cooked perfectly cheese is of good quality and the sauce has a very good taste. I consider myself a pizza connoisseur. I live in California and if this pizza holds its own against some of the best I've had from the east coast to the west coast. Glad to see and happy to support a small town buisness that takes pride in their product.

From the previous reviews, it sounds like Lock 9 has gotten over their initial hiccups. I've been there a handful of times and the food has always been DELICIOUS and the service, friendly. Thank you!

I'm finally done playing games with this place. Where to begin? When they first opened we ordered from them and waited 1 hour & 45 mins for our carryout order. And they forgot an item in our order. We called and they said "yeah it's here on the oven if you still want it." Like...we paid for it yes, we want it? Thought perhaps since they'd just opened that was a fluke. Waited a couple of months for them to get in the groove and tried it again. Waited about 1 hour 10 minutes that attempt. Waited a couple more months and thought hey, this place is close to home, convenient, and a locally owned business not a chain so let's try it again. This time we got UNDERCOOKED CHICKEN WINGS. Not even warm. Pink inside. Ridiculous. I messaged them on Facebook and the woman who responded thanked me for not blasting it in a public post and gave me a credit for wings. Fair enough. I guess. At this point you're thinking surely I didn't order from them again right? Wrong. The convenience monster struck again and we ordered a couple more times with what I'll call minor incidents. (Forgotten ranch, wrong toppings, etc) The food is honestly pretty decent, so I really really wanted to like this place and keep giving them a chance! But what started to grind my gears the most is that almost every time I or anyone I know has tried to order no one answers the phone. You either have to call 15 times to get someone to pick the phone up or go physically into the shop to order. On 2 occasions when we couldn't get through by phone and went in to order we walked in to see a woman (the owner?) sitting at the counter chit chatting on the phone on what was very clearly a personal phone conversation, not speaking to customers...That's a good way to get business! Not. Twice my husband fell on their front porch area because whatever kind of stone they chose gets extremely slippery when it rains apparently. So the 2nd time he sent them a private message on Facebook letting them know he fell, just simply so they would know because someone could get pretty hurt. He really got banged up the 2nd time. They read the message but never replied...Until he sent another message and called them out and said "I see you read my message." Then someone finally responded and said "yeah we know it's the kind of stone we chose, we've been looking into getting something different." Not even so much as a "sorry". At that point my husband actually said to me "that's it, I'm done ordering there." Then tonight I convinced him to order from them. Their hours say until 10 pm tonight. It was 9:10 when I attempted to order. I called, no one answered, let it go to an answering machine. I hung up, called again and someone answers this time "Lock 9 pizza we're closed." In the most shitty, please go fly-a-f-ing kite voice possible. Then hung up on me! So that's it. Whomever the owner is I hope you see this and get a handle on your business. Because right now you are driving customers away. Sincerely,Done. Now and forever.

With the lack of locally-owned places to eat in Muskingum County, it's refreshing to see a local business that has good food and friendly employees. I took my kids to eat there. I have the cheeseburger, and my kids had a sub and the spaghetti. Both of my kids are pretty picky eaters, so the fact that they both said that the food was great really means that it must have been great.

An hour wait for a mediocre pizza. Hopefully they get it together since they have only been open for a week.

I am a former employee and this is going to be a long explanation. At first the job was good but I soon learned a lot about this place. Firstly, they portion control. We have to measure how much cheese we put on a pizza and count the pepperoni. You get a cup of cheese on a large pizza and 26 slices of pepperoni exactly. Depending on it they don't really put extra pepperoni. It depends on who's in there. The first time I made an extra pepperoni I layered it like told. The 2nd time which was around 2 weeks after my first. I went to layer it and another employee stopped me, throwing a few extra pepperoni on it an having me throw it in the oven. The food is okay but most of it is all frozen. Even the grilled chicken is frozen. They get chicken thighs an such, cook it all up at once, chop it up an put it in the freezer to re-heat when someone wants it.The wings, chicken, chicken tenders, fish fillets and even the pizza dough is all frozen. All the stuff they use could be easily be bought at Walmart an Krogers store out front. The subs are a portion controlled as well. Depending on the sub but you only get 3-4 slices of your salami or meat of choice. They also have you count the toppings, and topped with 4 half slices of cheese. You get 2 slices of lettuce an 3 tomatoes. Take out salads are actually bigger thank the ones you get in the restaurant. The owner got upset because I didn't want to use a cup to measure the cheese while making a pizza and told me, "if I lose an ounce of cheese per day for a whole year I lose $7000." I'm sorry but that's highly inaccurate. With the cheese that she uses, losing an ounce per day she'd lose maybe $260 a year. It would take 24 years to lose $7000. She also tends to gaslight the workers. We're not allowed to have our phones during work, they have to be in a drawer at the front outside of the kitchen an stay there till our shift is over. The owner also pulled me to the side saying I had an authority problem because I tend to hesitate when I'm doing things, or try an finish the thing I'm currently doing first. One of the employees had me hopping between 4 different things all at once an took credit for the work. I don't even wanna start on how many boxes of moldy food I've thrown away. Green peppers, tomatoes an potatoes. All fuzzy like peaches. Turning black an covered In mold they tried to tell me to "cut around it" Are YOU CRAZY...that is such a bad health hazard...that's contamination...all that food is no good. I wouldn't recommend eating there...the cleaning is also quite minimal. I've never seen them clean the pop machine or the kitchens grease traps. They don't really wipe up the walls which are covered in grease an other things God knows what. I also don't see them cleaning the mats. They take them outside to sweep an mop then bring them back inside, laying them on the floor even though they're covered in stuff. It's gross. The kitchen isn't cleaned properly and I've seen ants everywhere. Beetles all over the carpet an such. It truly is disgusting. The owner is shameful and nothing but a tyrant. She shouldn't have any pride in the pigsty that is that restaurant. I'm truly disappointed. Unethical and detrimental to the company. Truly disgusting. I will never be working or eating here again.

I stopped in Lock 9 today to meet an old friend for lunch. I ordered a Wangus Burger and it was fantastic. I could really taste the difference in the Wagu ground beef and the burger was cooked to perfection. The fries were very good and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend this place!
