Liberty Township/Powell YMCA

I love the location!! It is only a 5-10 minute drive for us, we love the gym & working out each day, so this has been perfect for us!! It is a very nice location with amazing/kind staff. We love being members here, we are very happy.

Called shortly after 12 noon and spoke with gentleman at front desk who states the pool and sauna area will be closed until 3 pm. So I arrive and go into the sauna at 3:20 and it's not even turned on. This is unfortunately a regular routine for this location. They can't seem to flip a switch to make sure patrons can actually use the sauna facilities during the designated times. When I reported this to the lady at the desk she politely apologized, but offered no suggested resolution so I left. I'm paid up for my annual membership through September, but will not renew. Staff responsiveness and management is horrible. Some other members who are also dissatisfied suggested I check out Lifetime Fitness on Hard Road west of Sawmill Parkway. While a little more expensive, reviews indicate it's a far better value than the Liberty Twp YMCA.

Standing at the front door on a Saturday morning with a bunch of other folks. 7:20am. Supposed to open at 7am. Have other things I have to do this morning. Wanted to get in a quick workout and whirlpool for my aching back. WTF?

Gets the job done but multiple times I have shown up to see that it is closer. They don't share the updated hours well at all. Very frustrating.

Great gym and affordable rates. My kids enjoy the childcare area and the pool and are about to start swim lessons. The gym has just gotten new equipment and has everything you need. It's never overly crowded and I've never had to wait for equipment. The basketball courts are almost always available in the evenings and they have a few lower hoops for the kids. I haven't taken any fitness classes yet but they look fun. Cons: a few members if the staff aren't that friendly but you get that everywhere I guess, rock wall is rarely open and the pool is a little cold but all minor stuff. It's a great value and very family friendly place. We love it and feel very comfortable here, there are people of all shapes and sizes and agesso it's not intimidating and they don't try to sell you stuff all day like some other gyms.

I've had a membership here - and take my boys here for swim and gymnastics. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and you can't ask for more than that.

Cancelled my service when I moved in August 2023, and they continued to charge me. They made up a web site you are supposed to go to, however it is not possible to create an account without signing up for new services. Kids at the front desk don't really know what they are doing, which is fine...but they should take accountability when they do not enter things correctly into the computer.

I just joined recently and facility seems pretty nice, but the pool was FREEZING. I was hoping to take my son to swim occasionally so not sure if I'll continue the membership unless that changes.

First time ever my son forgets his jammers and goggles at this location and when we went to pick them up less then two days after the staff informs me they where donated out in the drop boxes out in their parking lot. The Manager then formed me it's not his responsibility that his staff members donated my sons items. Really nice way to treat family's in need around the Holidays not to mention the most unprofessional business ever. On another note their place it dirty only part of their machines that are clean are the areas we all personally clean every day. More times then I can count they don't have any hand towels available. Buy more hand towels already solves that issue. How do you have a cleaning crew yet it looks like no ones cleaned the bottom half of your machines since you sat them in there.

My kids and I come here multiple times a week and it's one of our favorite places to be! They have an indoor and outdoor pool. Great group workout classes for adults, and awesome gym with climbing wall as well as great exercise equipment. The summer camp options for children are great because they have a large variety. They also have sprite for the kids throughout the school year! The vibe of the place is great, everyone is nice staff and patrons alike! I am happy to have the Y in our community!
