Latitude 39

The beef is local! The students are awesome at their jobs. Very modern and clean atmosphere. I love when they host special events like, Wine Night.

9/2024 Came here for dinner on Saturday night at Homecoming. They are on the ground floor of Baker Ctr. They are a nice restaurant. Good food. Tip is included in the rate.

I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Latitude 39. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is great and the staff is amazing! We have never been disappointed in our experience at this establishment and always look forward to patronizing. The Assistant Manager, Sara, is always so accommodating and courteous. Latitude 39 is a true gem in Athens, OH!

The only good things on the menu at this place are the starters. The burgers and main entrées are edible but taste horrible. The only thing I'd get again is the Mac and cheese bites, delicious. The service is sub par and the food is glorified dining hall food.

Everything was extremely bland and tasted honestly like shit, we got the buffalo chicken dip (dip was gritty), pickle fries (this was the only decent thing we had), the pesto chicken sandwich (some of the driest chicken i've ever had as well as the "pesto aioli" just tasted like mayo with basil in it), and the mac and cheese (the pasta was so over cooked it was basically cheese mush). Service wasn't terrible but the fact that they were playing halloween movies on full volume on the tv above us was horrible, we couldn't hear eachother. The only nice thing about this place is you can use your flex points here if you're a student at OU.

The atmosphere looks super cute from the outside but that's exactly where it stops. The service means well but nobody there has an idea what hospitality means or how to allow a diner to enjoy their time. We went for a casual evening out and decided to just be the two of us. We wanted a good drink and decent food and got one good drink out of the two. One of us ordered a draft beer and it took two people to pour one pint but after they had to dump out 4 other pints of beer because they don't have a clue how to poor a proper draft beer. One of us ordered the Mac and cheese and French onion soup... the Mac tasted like warm milk and the pasta was over cooked, and the French onion soup had outside layers of onion in it that were inedible and had a burn tasted. The other ordered the pork burger and the best part was the French fries. The staff needs some management and training. There were 6 employees and maybe 7 if you include the hostess, but we were one of two tables and the other table left before we even got our food. They all stood around the bar talking with each other bad mouthing the space, one of the managers they seem to all not enjoy and how school is keeping them from working the shifts they want there. I won't be back ever but I'm sure my partner would like to try because he likes to give restaurants a second try. This needs a serious overhaul and I'm not sure anyone who operates or is in charge of this part of Ohio University actually cares.

The menu was small, but this little gem was a great place to eat. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly. The staff was attentive and approachable. And more importantly the food was amazing! The calamari appetizer was a must, the soup of the day was just right and the butternut squash ravioli was one of the most unique tastes I've ever encountered. This is great restaurant if you're looking to treat yourself or impress clients. My only complaint was that the menu was very small and only had one vegetarian option.

I love the atmosphere! Very trendy and sleek design. TV's are on if a game is on for the fans to watch. Great local craft beer options. Private areas to eat where you do not have to see the TV's as well. I have tried most of the appetizers and a couple of the entrees. You can't go wrong with a burger and fries with a Jackie O's brew. My family loves the pretzel with beer cheese!

Big issue is they don't take cash. And you can only leave a tip in cash. I'm not making this up.
