La Glory's

Sounded good on a cold day, and I was over this way. I've been meaning to come for a while, but it's just not on my usual route. Turn in at the light, and be careful about which driveway you pick- I think it's the second driveway, near a daycare, and it winds around back to the restaurant. You can see the place from James. Pretty busy at lunchtime, a few dine in and some carryout. Served cafeteria style, so you can see what you want, and drool over it. Well, there's a clear shield, but you know what I mean. I got smothered pork chops, since I hadn't had them forever. Meaty, tender, covered in gravy and onions. So so good, especially as comfort food on a cold day. You can also get them fried. Plenty of other things on the menu looked good. And all of the sides sounded good. I ended up getting one that was a mix of cabbage and greens, instead of getting the two separately, so that gave me space for another side. I went with mac & cheese. Sweetie's mom's mac is the best in the world. I'm not kidding. This is not quite that good, but is a very good homemade version, loaded with cheese, and baked in a big pan. Service was excellent. Prices are a bit steep, but good for the quantity and quality. Canned pop. Cheap plasticware. I was leery, but the pork chops were so tender that even a plastic knife pulled them apart easily. Hardly needed it. The place is not fancy inside. Old, but clean, a few booths and tables. You're there for the food, not the decor. Or, come in and pick it up and take it home. And have better silverware... I will definitely be back. I loved what I got, and was enticed by some of the other things.

Very dated.... The food is in a cafeteria setup food on display everything looked tasty. The server/cashier seem overwhelmed.... I ended up getting the catfish dinner with mac and cheese with greens it was delicious the catfish hot must've been made to order it was piping hot!! My friend had the the smothered pork chops rice and macaroni I literally saw the meat slide off the bone. He claim that was the tastiest smothered pork chops he ever ate.... I wanna give this place 5 stars but the floors are dirty and I don't wanna even begin on that bathroom if I had used the bathroom first I wouldn't have ate their at all!! I try to be respectful but they need to close down for one day and scrub the shit outta that bathroom throw away that nasty ass plunger!! Making to much money to neglect that damn bathroom!! I wish like hell I'd took the phone into the bathroom!!!

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while, they're just far from where I live and it's to go only still. Business is located in the same building as a church, plenty of parking. It was really fast to get my food and the employees were nice. Most importantly though, the food was great. The chicken dinner was bone in breast and two wings. Wonderful flavor and juicy. The Mac was also very tasty, breading on the top and good flavor. They use below macaroni noodles but it wasn't gummy or overcooked, just right. I'm looking forward to heading back again.

Some places have the "SPOT" which is a place that you always go to and you'll never be disappointed with the food ever. For example in the ATL our spot is K&K Soulfood. Columbus doesn't have too many "spots" so hopefully we found one with this place. The taste, flavor, execution of dishes, and price point were all solid. Moreover there was a steady amount of foot traffic and business in and out of this place while we ordered so it must be well thought of in the community. We'll be back

Some of the best Soul Food I have ever had.Greens we SUPER tender & well flavored!Banana Pudding cake is 'sugar-coma in a box' but you will die happy!Met the owner, ate the food, will come back if in the area!Yes it's attached to a church, but they are serious about the food!

Cabbage looks smells and tastes old. Chicken greens cornbread great. Not as jovial as they have been.

A nice delicious Soul food like your Grandma makes. Service quick and fast and very polite. Sweet Potatoes Mac and Cheese Collards/ Cabbage Mixed Homemade Meatloaf Fried Chicken Sriracha Baked Chicken Catfish Dinner must try them all.....an old school ambiance..

I was okay. Service was nice, workers and kitchen staff were approachable and polite. Came around 2pm on Sunday to sample food in case I we wanted to order some for an upcoming event. Unfortunately I came at a bad time where they were at the end of most pans of the food or were out. I was told more food was still cooking but they cldnt give an eta on the new food. We had meatloaf. If anyone has a preference they make the kind with red sauce on top, I'm more of a brown gravy on meatloaf gal; it was tasty and a nice portion. So many of the sides were gone that we were hoping to try. I ended it up getting rice with gravy (of all things) with a side of cabbage. The rice was literally plain white rice and the gravy although thick enough was too translucent to be relevant. The gravy resembled Hines -the kind in the jar at the grocery store, or if coming from someone's kitchen it has too little ingredients with a lot or cornstarch as filler/thickener, not made from a roux. I tried the greens- both greens and cabbage were pretty tangy and lil salty but it's a matter of preference -my sis liked them. We rolled the dice ordered a pan of mac and cheese for a gathering; it was $60 can't really mess up Mac &cheese. We ordered it the day before our gathering to be assembled but not baked so we could just put it in the oven an hr before our event -also not to risk any mix ups or mess ups with the order. I like that they offer this service.Sunday seems like it would be busy and they should plan accordingly, don't try to sell people the end of the pan old dried food. I showed up at 4:53pm for my mac & cheese that was to be picked up later that week at 5pm. The lady from the kitchen leaned out the door and told me I was too early and she was still working on it. I waited about 20mins for an order placed 4days prior. I was offered a soda while I waited. The Mac was okay. But again plan accordingly to ensure you have food when you are supposed to have it. Overall, I wld go back if my sis wanted lunch again but it won't be my first pick or anything I would go out of my way for.

It was ok but not what I was expecting based on what I heard about the food. Their mashed potatoes were delicious but the fried pork chops were just ok.

I'm disappointed with this place! I ordered smothered pork chops and it wasn't what I expected considering it wasn't fried. Cabbage and greens mixed and baked beans. My cabbage portion was the stump and it was dirty! There were a lot of collard stems and my cornbread looked like a cookie! The portions are small for the$$. I called and spoke to the owner/manager and sent pictures. He told me he would get back to me and never did. Never returning!
