Thanks to Mike G. I took a wonderful trip "south of the border" to nearby London!! Muy rica la comida, and a great change of pace from the Mexican fare here in the "Field of Springs." It's been a while, so I'm not quite sure what I ordered any more (probably my standard "chile relleno" or two... BAD Yelper!!) but I do remember that Mike had a chicken entree (Pollo la Carreta?) that looked WONDERFUL, much better than my choice, I'll have to remember it for NEXT time!!Fans of guacamole take note... While I'm a HUGE fan of the "green stuff," Mr. M.G. said he wasn't, BUT apparently DID enjoy La Carreta's version, quite fresh and tasty, though no longer made at the table, as an older review stated. And the cuteness factor of the bowl in which it's served?? 10/10!!Lots of standard choices, along with a few surprises here, including mole poblano, which I'll try NEXT time!! Pretty busy mid-week, but our service was great. TONS of tempting, reasonably priced lunch and dinner options. Worth a repeat visit...

I love grilled chicken, so the Pollo Tapatio was an easy pick for me. You get a delicious grilled chicken breast covered in sautéed spinach and mushrooms. It really is quite good with all the different flavors and textures. As usual, it came with tortillas, refried beans, and rice. The portions are generous and are a great value for the money. The only negative was that the chips were a bit stale, and the salsa was the typical bland jarred stuff.My dining partner, Valerie of Springfield, sprung for some guacamole, and it was absolutely wonderful. It was so fresh and had an interesting mouthfeel, with an almost perfect blend of avocado, onion, and spices.Service was good enough despite being understaffed.Ambiance is casual and relaxed.La Carreta is a good choice for Tex-Mex if you're in the London area.4 Stars

$1.50 tacos on a Tuesday. Very hard to find values these days. The tacos did seem to be geared towards the local demographic. Coming with a side of ranch and some salsa. The actual dish (pollo fondido, pictured) was spot on authentic. The manager also assured us that we'd receive the lunch special price as it was just before 3pm. My fiancé is on a keto diet and when the manager noticed she had brought tortillas, he offered to warm them up before she ate. 5 tacos and a dish $21 before tip.

A ok...first time here, 4:30 on a Friday and very light crowd. Clean and quiet, nice staff, room was a little chilly. Salsa was nice but chips were a little thick for my taste. $5 jumbo margarita was perfect. Princess had the chimichanga with shredded beef, some of the best she's had; good crisp, great meat and sauce. The refried beans were thin and bland. I had enchiladas, very good, especially the beef had a great flavor. Nice balance and portion sizes. Great meal; with drinks got out of there for $30.

Service was friendly, but not very sociable even though the facility was in decent order and relatively clean. Prices are fair if the food was any good, but it is second rate at best. Spent the next day in the bathroom with an upset stomach
