I am new to the area and just had a baby. I was looking for daycare centers in the area to accommodate my infant and my school aged child. I found Kids Academy online and called to schedule a tour. They informed me I didn't need a tour and could stop in any time. I thought that was great, the fact that they weren't worried about what I would walk in and see at any given time was reassuring. I arrived the next morning with my infant to view the place. It was around 11 which was the only time my baby would allow for me to leave the house since she had been fussy and hungry all morning. Also my other child is in school so it was a great time since I did not have him with me. When I arrived I buzzed the door and was welcomed by Anna ( or Amy but I'm almost positive it was Anna) she was a very nice young girl who said she took care of the toddlers. She was very nice and I noticed she knew the names of every child she saw while I was there. She started walking me around the daycare and showing me the rooms and telling me about how they do things there. She asked me about my baby and my other child and was over all super sweet, professional and someone I would trust to watch my children. She walked me through the lunch room where my experience declined drastically. A woman turned to me and said "who are you scheduled to see" as if I had done something wrong. I told her I didn't have an appointment and when I called they said I didn't need one. That's when she said in a very rude condescending manner, "well of course you need an appointment we are in the middle of lunch" I apologized for coming at a bad time and she said not one more word to me. It was very awkward and made me feel very uncomfortable. She spoke to me this was in front of a room full of kids, too. Turns out she's the director, Carrie Williamson. The name on the card that Anna gave me after trying really hard to break the awkward moment by telling me it's not my fault I came when I did since they told me on the phone I didn't need an appointment. I could feel the tension in this daycare between the staff. She hen walked me into another room so I could give them my contact information so someone could reach out to me. When I was filling out the paperwork Anna left the room and I heard her being scolded by the director about me being there as if it was her fault. "This is why we need to schedule appointments!" I heard her because she was yelling at the girl giving me the tour. I was appalled by her behavior. I was embarrassed for this facility. I work in customer service and can't imagine treating a paying customer this way. It concerns me that this person is in charge of handling Children and I would definitely not trust her with mine. I found a daycare called stepping stones around the corner that I am very pleased with. I just wanted it to be known about my experience and how uncomfortable this person made me feel and how the feeling in this place was a Negative one. I work in customer service and can't imagine treating a paying customer this way or anyone at all for that matter.

All of my children attend Kids Academy and I couldn't be happier. So thankful to have a place that is loving, nurturing and takes the time to teach the children. Would give my highest recommendation.

I am so thankful to have found Kid's Academy. We have had such positive experiences! My child has attended since infancy and I have nothing but positive things to say. The staff are engaging and very attentive. My child is constantly learning new things at the center. She loves attending and is very bonded with the staff. The staff is always willing to help. The director is very educated and is always willing to take the time to answer any questions I may have. I have many times seen the director take time in each classroom engaging with the children and it is also evident in the way the children are bonded to her. I know my child is being cared for by the best!

I guess they get one star since (unnamed child) was able to come home at least alive! The staff cannot keep track of any of the children's belongings. They have neglected to return numerous items that belong to the child (sippy cups w/the child's name on it for one). They request things (diapers, wipes, sunscreen, etc) from the parent that are already in the child's cubby. The child had come home numerous times with bite marks, bruises, scrapes, rashes or whatever and no staff member can say what happened. And there isn't even a note about it, let alone an incident report! Nap/Rest time is a joke. The environment is not at all conducive for resting or sleeping. Teachers have been observed SCREAMING angrily at very small children. The director NEVER seems to be there to address concerns. Evidently she "lives so far away" to be available. Oh yeah, sometimes she'll call you back if you leave a message.Does any of this sound like nurturing care? protection? healthy living? high quality anything? As they claim on their website. One last thing. Look at the pictures on their website. Do the children look happy? Do the teachers look happy? And finally, how well are the children being supervised when the teacher is at a corner table with one child and her back is toward ALL of the other children in the room?

Staff is very disorganized. I had a child there and it was ok for a while. The director is very confrontational and unprofessional. My child said that they did not want to continue because of the treatment they received.
