Johnson's Real Ice Cream- New Albany

If you are an ice cream fan, you need to add Johnson's to your list. The ice cream is made fresh and local. The offer an extensive selection of flavors, including great seasonal varieties.The NA location is located in the Market Square area and is close to many of NA shops and restaurants. Great stop if you need to handle your sweet craving.Staff is super friendly and helpful. They will answer your questions, provide you samples, and even hand pack a pint to go.Plenty of parking and seating, both indoor and outside.Always a family favorite.

SO GOOD! First time visiting and I loved it. The store itself is very cute with great parking but also good accessibility from the rest of New Albany if you wanted to have a long walk with your ice cream! The employees were super friendly and helpful and I was grateful to get to sample a couple flavors because their menu is packed with options! I opted for the Buckeye flavor this time and it was delicious - creamy and the perfect peanut butter/chocolate balance without being too rich. the sugar cone was good too- nice and crispy with a good vanilla taste and not just from the cheap box you can find at the grocery (though I don't dislike those). I was only supposed to get one scoop but I definitely got a little extra. Excited to go back and try other flavors!

I have yet to visit a Johnson's Real Ice Cream that isn't worthy of 5 stars. Excellent flavor variety and more dairy free options than most places. I'm convinced their definition of one scoop equals two, which I'm very much a fan of! There were around 5 people working when I visited, so my wait time was non existent. There's a few tables inside and outside, so you have the option to enjoy both. A+ business!

We love Johnson's! Everytime we go the staff is super nice, helpful and patient with my indecisive kids. The ice cream is fresh and they have many varieties. It has become our kids and my favorite ice cream place.

If you don't see an add or get a recommendation, you just might miss this gem of an ice cream shop in New Albany. It's on the back side of the main streets in NA, along with a few other businesses that will benefit from the nicer weather- but none will benefit more than Johnson's. I like ice cream, and my daughter told me that Johnson's in New Albany is where we needed to go- so we headed out around 8PM on a Friday night to see just HOW GOOD it may be.It was encouraging that there was a line outside- so I went online to see the menu- and the prices were good compared to other similar places. The line went quick as they had 3 attendants working the crowd. I settled on a double scoop of Raspberry Chocolate Chip on a waffle cone, and wasn't disappointed a lick. (See what I did there :) )My wife had Moose Tracks, and my daughter had the Lemon Sorbet- nice.There is TONS of parking in the giant shared lot with Mellow Mushroom and Hudson 29, and lots of places to walk of you'd like to stroll with your cone. There are a few spots to sit outside- but New Albany is nice to stroll around in the evenings- so we just walked. Glad we stopped in!!! Recommend you do too!

Have always loved Johnson:s. Had never to the new Albany location, but had dinner nearby and instead of ordering a fancy dessert at the restaurant decided to go to Johnson's for our beloved hot fudge sundaes. It was such an incredible disappointment. We need a magnifying glass to find the hot fudge. They had raised the prices, but then when we looked up, we saw that it did say you got two topics. Well, our server did not tell us that we really hadn't read it. We just knew that we wanted a hug for Sunday as usual but we got half of one topping instead of double the amount since we only ordered one topic, we certainly paid for the two topping Sunday. We didn't get nuts or anything so maybe this is just the new Albany location and we would have to wait and see when we went back to our usual Bexley location. Defined out the verdict. You'll have to be the reviews from the Bexley store.

Cute little ice cream shop in New Albany with a large private parking lot around back. I tried the March special - mint cookies and cream. It was good, not great. The ice cream was more icy than I like it, wanted it to be more creamy. It did have great flavor, the perfect amount of mint. Got a good amount of ice cream for one scoop. Prices about the same as other ice cream shops around. I would eat it again (it's ice cream!), but wouldn't be my first pick.

This is a nice location with convenient parking. The staff is helpful. The ice cream is tasty. You should check it out!

I love this little ice cream shop. Went here after dinner today. The service is always quick. Sometimes the line gets long but you can generally get through pretty quick (depending on who is in front of you). The staff is always friendly and attentive.My favorite two flavors are the black raspberry chip and double Dutch chocolate. Their waffle cones are pretty good too. I can't ever say no to ice cream.

Definitely the best ice cream I've had in Ohio thus far. It's creamy and full of flavor. I tried the double Dutch chocolate, yum! There were cake cones, waffe cones, sugar cones, dipped cones. It looks like they had pints ready to-go as well as ice cream cakes. The inside of Johnson's was pretty small. I'm not sure if dining in was an option, we took ours to-go and I believe you can have it delivered as well through something like doordash, grub hub etc. There is street parking and a parking lot on the other side for all of the businesses in that area.
