Johnson's Real Ice Cream

Mmmmmm so good!! Stopped in for ice cream today & so glad I did. Service was fast & friendly. Little spendy, $8.90 for 2 scoops in a waffle cone (included a small tip). Ice cream was delicious!!! I got cinnamon & blueberry pie. They let me sample both too. I'll definitely be back.

Staff was very patient with me while I took my time studying the menu - so many flavors! He answered all my questions, going so far as to pull the containers of ice cream out of the freezer to show me what they looked like. I ended up pleased with my selection of butterscotch toffee ice cream with hot fudge and whipped cream and a cherry.

We are with my son and three grandsons and we met them in Columbus. They're from just outside Cleveland and Hudson and we're from Frankfurt Illinois so we all met in Columbus to see their zoo. It's a great zoo by the way anyway afterwards we went to eat, and then we went to Johnson's ice cream, it was great. They had a huge number of flavors something for everyone and they had hot fudge and cones and all the ice cream is homemade and this is a very old ice cream pearl the oldest ice cream parlor in Columbus. The people behind the counter were very helpful. Let us taste everything, everybody picked the ice cream and everybody loved it if we ever go to Columbus again you can be sure

Love this place, especially for a summer treat. This Bexley location is close by is my favorite. It definitely has an old time or classic feel. Make sure to take a look around and take it all in especially looking in the inside glass windows at the back.This family owned store has been around for 70 years or so and it a real staple. I am a fan of the 3 scoops in a bowl and usually got with the traditional favorites. Vanilla Bean, Cinnamon, Salty Caramel Chocolate Pretzel, and Butter Pecan are my favorites. Their Banana Splits are great too!They have good cones here too, and have sundaes, milkshakes, smoothies, novelties and even pints to go.Totally recommend. It's really good ice cream, a slight trip back in the simple days, and is one of those staples you can say you have had.

Do yourself a favor and deliver it some flavor. This place rocks so hard. A local staple in Bexley, you would be remiss to skip this place. Great spot that feels like the local ice cream spot you grew up with. Fits in well with old bexley and delivers some fun flavors all over the board.

I think I've been to a Johnson's (in Westerville?) and thought the ice cream was good-not-great. This time it was handy. I didn't even try any ice cream. But Baby K did, her usual little sundae (vanilla, whipped cream, cherry) plus some gummy bears since they have eight or ten fun toppings. She loved it.I got a tropical smoothie, which was very good. And- a sandwich? Yep, they have hot (sometimes) and cold (all day) sandwiches, which was perfect for me since I was hungry and not as up for ice cream as the kid. I ended up with egg salad, and it was a pretty darn good egg salad sandwich. On wheat (your choice) and with a side of chips or pasta salad (tiny, but good.) Comes with a good pickle. I was impressed.Service was great. Prices are maybe a little high, but it's all good stuff. Parking lot is small, and be careful how you come in- one way in and out, enter to the west of the building. I wasn't even really aware this was here, we usually stay farther west in Bexley, but will keep it in mind.

This is the vibe that you want when you go to an ice cream shop. Very chill, so cute, spacious, and GREAT icecream. I got the the chocolate fudge brownie topped with peanut butter.

I'm only giving them 1 star because they have serve no sugar added ice cream and it's actually really delicious! I've been cleaning and emptying my house for the past few days and my niece wanted to get out the house so I figured you can't go wrong with ice cream and Johnsons is close to me and open even though it was 10:20pm. I took 3 other people with me and as we pulled up I was unsure they were even open because some of the lights were off by the entrance, all the chairs were on the tables and the entire floor was wet from preclosing I assume. I was super excited so I spoke to them first and they kind of hesitated to speak back. One girl even had her elbows on the counter like she was bored or bothered. I let them know I had never been there (we always go to greaters ice cream a few blocks down ever since I was little plus they were closed) and I needed a moment to look over the flavors. One of the girls let me know I can try some of the flavors so my niece and I both tried 2. My mom knew what she wanted so she made her cone, asked if there was anything else we wanted and I responded yes I just need some more time. My sister ordered and again she got her cone and we were asked if there was anything else we wanted. Now I'm starting to feel rushed at this point... I know they were closing in 30 minutes but sheesh no one smiled the whole time, the scoop in a cup my sister ordered was slid across the counter to her and my nieces spoon was put on the counter top where all our hands were and who knows who else's hands were there before. Overall the only thing I liked was 1 of 2 sugar free options of splendid mint chocolate chip and the orange cream flavor. I'll stick to the constant bubbly customer service I get at greaters ice cream.

I come to this johnson's frequently, I ordered me and my boyfriends ice cream the exact same. A two scoop sundae with hot fudge on top (no whip, no cherry). I'm not sure if the girl that made mine was new but she just looked at me with a blanked stare, so I said hello and got started with my order. After I got done with my order i still had to explain to her what I wanted. When I got to the counter I should've took a picture of what my ice cream looked like. There was only a little bit of fudge on one side of the ice cream, so i asked for more fudge. At the end of the day we should've got the same amount if we're paying for a sundae.
