Taken at the Jeffrey Mansion, I modeled for a fashion designers' line and the location was perfect!

Jeffrey Park is huge, and includes the mansion (which Sweetie has been in, and Baby K and I walked alongside,) the pool (which seems great- and crazily crowded on a hot summer day,) and more. Several parking areas, many wooded areas. At least one very nice shelter with bathrooms. And: a playground, our main goal. A great playground. Four separate playsets plus swings. Loads of things for kids to do. One area is fenced in, to corral small kids. Plenty of benches all around, plenty of shade.Only drawback is it's a bit of a walk from the nearest parking lot to the playground. Not as fun for the old guy with bad knees. But, a pleasant walk, and a destination worthy of it.

I came here for an event with Bexley's Parks and Rec Department.I'd heard about this place for a while from a friend who said to check it out. It's a historical home that has tons of trails at the back and other facilities for recreation.Along with housing Parks and Rec, it is also a preschool! I didn't get to see the whole of the inside but it's cool to see a historic home that is maintained very well for multipurpose use. They even do chair yoga classes in here!

Today we went for their annual pancake breakfast. This establishment is awesome inside and outside! Lots of greenery and beautiful interior! Pancakes and sausage were tasty and plentiful. Saw some friends which I haven't seen for years!

My husband and I got our engagement and pregnancy announcement photos taken here. The grounds are absolutely stunning. There are often events going on, but the grounds are big enough that if you want to just come walk or take pictures there is plenty of space to do so. There is open field, brick building, stone walls, woods with a bridge, beautiful stairwells. This place for photos has every esthetic you could ever want all in one location. We will continue to use the grounds for future photos!

Back in 1905, industrialist Robert H. Jeffrey and his wife Mary lived in this single family home known as the Jeffrey Mansion. The 32 acres was then donated to the city of Bexley in 1941. Today this historic area offers recreations, sports, swimming pools, tennis courts, cultural and arts education programs. As well as providing a special events space for the community. Inside the mansion on the first floor was the living space, the second floor was the bedrooms and the third was dedicated to the servant quarters. The basement was their shooting range.Just some facts from back in 1908. Bexley was named after a meeting in a village that included the area of Livingston Avenue and Town Street, but excluded a small community that was further north which was Jeffrey. Jeffrey was too small to be incorporated, so their civic leaders talked with the Pleasant Ridge Association. During that summer of 1908, both these groups met on the terrace of the Jeffrey Mansion and then agreed to join forces. At this meeting Colonel Kilbourne named this village Bexley. So as you can see this area has a lot of history and that's why it's so important to the city of Bexley. Everytime I come here I enjoy every gathering. I usually come for cookouts since that's all my friends ever do here. Besides walking on the arboretum path. This place is just so lovely and I really love historic landmarks like this. I recommend it to anybody who is looking to take their kids to a play ground area, outdoor grilling, playing tennis on the courts, swimming or just need a lovely view for a special occasion.

I can think of only a handful of places that hold as much sentimental value for me as Jeffrey Mansion and its surrounding park. I grew up in Bexley and even later, after moving across town to Grandview, I made a point to introduce this place to... well... anyone who likes a swingset and a walk in the woods. While the mansion itself is fantastic for events (this was the site of a slew of graduation parties and Bexley's annual senior party transforms it into an unrecognizable wonderland for one night each June), the park was my spot for picnics, sunning with friends, entertaining the kiddos when I'd babysit, and romantic autumn walks through the vibrant forest (with the initials in the boardwalk along Alum Creek to prove it...) With its mossy stone passageways and meandering paths, Jeffrey Mansion has all the charm and magic of a bygone era but is as accessible (if not more) than any other neighborhood park I've visited.

Ive never been here before but the mansion is a gem of a building with wrought iron windows with hand cut glass. The wooden buttresses are original and the historical view is locked in. I never knew this place was here and came for an art opening a fellow artist was having. This seems like the place you'd have a fancy wedding reception or something like that. The space is easily transformable for any type of event that you can think of. As I type this the bass from the DJ's speakers is making me tremble! This is the type of place that strokes your ego. Everyone looks and feels important in this space and there is an exclusivity about it that can't be ignored. Momma we made it!!! Lol.

Beautiful local historic landmark. The park is open to the public, however the mansion may be reserved and rented for events. There are lovely spots for photo-ops because of all the old stone walls and Secret Garden-like walkways. There are several wooded trails to enjoy along with children's playgrounds.

If you need a respite from the city-suburban hustle and bustle this park has surprisingly nice open spaces, playground equipment, trails and paths that reach to views of Alum Creek.
