Very cool atmosphere at Indian Lake Brewing Company. We went here on a Sunday afternoon during a long weekend in the winter. My parents just bought a house in Indian Lake so we have been trying out new places. Baylee was our bartender today and she did a great job ensuring that we were well educated on the menu and knew what to order. I was very impressed how she was the only person working but was able to keep the bar running as well as keep inventory of the merchandise and working on something in the back. My parents ended up both getting flights which I did not get as I am not a beer person. I did however get the seltzer which was pretty good, they have an added flavor that can be added to any seltzer. They had four to choose from when I was there and I liked the white peach. There were also two ciders that were pretty good as well. Can't speak for the beer as again not a beer drinker.

I'm in Lima and Columbus for the weekend on business and made a stop to log Indian Lake Brewing as brewery visit #245. And that is Lima as in "Lima Beans" not as in the phonetic alphabet. Just FYI. After years of using the phonetic alphabet my mind says "Lee-ma" unless I'm actually talking about "Ly-ma" beans. Did Lima beans come from Lima? ILB has a really nice building painted in blues and white. Very nautical. A big interior space with high ceilings is airy and welcoming. A big U-shaped bar is along one wall with seating for roughly 20. There is a roll-up door that was open and leads out to lots of patio seating. The patio was very busy when I arrived because of the great weather. Lake Life lager was very light but not quite American lager. More like an international lager with a bit more flavor and a little bread note to it. Serve this up ice cold on the boat out on the lake and I'm all for it. Beatley's Blonde is a strawberry blonde, which I just didn't enjoy much. I wouldn't have identified strawberry from the aroma and the flavor had a hint of flavor but mostly a bit of bitterness. Not the best I've ever had by any means. The Channel Cruiser raspberry wheat also had a bit of bitterness and a slight sour flavor. I'm not a huge fan of fruit beers but I didn't get any clean raspberry from this one. Also my preference is for a little more residual sweetness on the tongue.Muddy Waters 3.0 amber had a nice color to it and was very true to style as an international amber. A bit of caramel and malt ones with a little hop bitterness at the end but just enough to balance it all out. SWPFTD would order this and enjoy it. Good beer!I had to get a couple of extra tasters. I went with Motorboatin' for my first as SWPFTD knows I love motorboatin'. This is a cold IPA which I have been seeing a lot more of lately. This had good hop aroma and decent bitterness. A crowler of this may just follow me back to my hotel. The last for today was Pontoon porter. This was a good one. Caramel, malt, toffee, a little coffee, all balanced with a little bit of hop bitterness. Some people don't like complex beer like this. The reason is because they are simple of mind and palate. Calm down! It's a joke! It's not my fault you are simple-minded...I enjoyed my stop at ILB. The whole vibe is light and friendly. The bar staff was quite friendly and overall the beers were good. Yes, I didn't love a couple but I haven't loved a few beers I brewed in the past either. You may LOVE the strawberry blonde and the raspberry wheat, and hate the porter. I would stop in here regularly if I were a local. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!

Very neat place and great addition to Indian Lake. I'm not a beer drinker but the other people I was with enjoyed it. Wife had a seltzer and liked it. I had the root beer and it was good but just not cold enough. Put it over ice but the ice was obviously made with local water. Need to make the ice with filtered water.

We tried this new brewery last weekend and it was late afternoon and you walk in to 700 watt light bulbs in your eyes that never go out until the doors are locked at night. This is offensive to have this bright of lights in midst of winter??? No selections that were turn your head great. I would not recommend this for casual drinking, and children running all around.

With 18 taps at Indian Lake Brewing Co, there is something for everyone's pallet. All my friends raved about the tasty beer with their lake-themed names. My focus was on the other end of the tap line. The hard lemonade was refreshing and there are two cider options available. The seltzer program was a big hit - you pick the flavor that the bartender adds. ILBC also offers several wines and a delicious non-alcoholic root beer. There's lots of room inside to hang out with your friends and even more room outside when the weather is nice. Can't wait until summer to visit in the golf cart or dock the boat at the nearby public docks.
