My wife and I were in the area and wanted to try something new. The staff is very friendly and ready to offer recommendations. We tried the samosas for an appetizer. This was a first for me but definitely not the last. It had a flaky crust on the outside and soft and spicy on the inside. It also came with a dipping sauce. I ordered the chicken tikka masala. The chicken was tender and the sauce was creamy and very flavorful and the portions are generous. My wife ordered biryani. It was also delicious and generously portioned. We also had garlic naan and ordered more to go to enjoy with leftovers.

One restaurant, two cuisines! So, there's a new Indo - Chinese restaurant that just opened called India Bistro & China House. I checked them out for lunch this afternoon around noon and the buffet had about 16 or so items, mostly Indian with a few American Chinese dishes. Lunch is $16.99 from 11am to 2pm and dinner is 18.99 from 5pm to 9:30. The meat is halal, btw.Let me tell you about the things I tried.* Naan: Was nice and warm with just the right amount of chew.* Chicken: Pretty good version with tender chicken and a hearty sauce.* Vegetarian Fried Rice: Pretty decent basic version made with shredded cabbage.* Vegetable Pokora: Delicious! and with just the right amount of crispiness and spice.* Tandoori Chicken: Big chunks of breast meat. Great flavor too.* General Tso's Chicken: Pretty good with a pronounced honey sweetness.* Vegetable Lo Mein: The only thing I had that I didn't like. Soggy and flavorless. All in all, this was a good first visit. There were a couple little snags that I'm not going to bother mentioning because, like I said, this is a soft opening so they'll work out the kinks in time. Recommended and looking forward to trying them again in another month or two!4 StarsAndI'veGotAFewThoughtsForTheOwners:My recommendation to the owners is to reconsider the price. While your food is very good, $16.99 for lunch seems a little high for the selection that's available. $12.99 or $13.99 might be a better price point. Get your clientele built up first and then consider raising the price. Also, a soup of the day option would be nice. Thupka, Hot and Sour, Egg Drop, Wonton...Best of luck to you folks!

My family and I came here for dinner, looking for some halal Chinese. We walked in and the dining hall was empty, so we were a little taken aback! But a really friendly waitress popped out of the back and took our order. We ordered lemon chicken and hot pepper chicken for appetizers, and orange beef, beef fried rice, and house special Hakka noodles. Everything was hot and extremely fresh, especially the appetizers and the beef items. The spot was really unassuming, with some simple decorations and booths. We weren't sure how it was going to be, but we came to know the chef was an older Chinese gentleman with lots of experience, which explained the amazing tasting food. We will definitely be back here to try more of the Chinese food, and some of the Indian options as well.Really glad to find a fresh, tasty, HALAL spot in Columbus, they are few and far between!

One side of the menu offers Indian dishes and the other side Chinese dishes! I Love the food here. Their Gobi Manchuria is an all time favorite. It's on their appetizer menu - you have to try it. The chicken 65 from appetizer menu is also very good. This is the same owner from Curry N Grill that I missed so much. I'm glad to have them back! They also own the market next door.

I have been looking for an actual Indian buffet since 2020, finally found one. It was around $15 but I believe I got my moneys worth. It has your typical Indian dishes, naan, fried veggies and potatoes. All the various chicken dishes, but with the addition of orange chicken, sesame chicken, and teriyaki chicken. With both white rice, and biryani rice. The dessert isn't as varied, but they did have Gulab Jamun. Would definitely go again.

Last night's dinner was disappointing. I dined with two friends. One ordered egg rolls and shrimp lo mein and was satisfied with both. One ordered orange chicken. She asked the server if it was (spicy) hot and the server asked her if she wanted it hot. She said no, not at all. Her dish arrived very hot with tons of hot peppers. The server offered to have it remade but she declined. I ordered the paneer tikka . The server asked me how hot I wanted it and I said I did want it spicy. She said mild medium or hot and I said medium. Well, guess what? It arrived with NO heat, completely mild. She brought me over packets of pepper (that's not the same as when you order Indian food hot) and asked if I wanted mine remade. I also declined because who wants to wait another 20 or 25 minutes for more food? Also, my food arrived lukewarm. It was just warm enough so I didn't even bother complaining about that. So all in all very disappointing and I won't go back.

Despite the info on the web site and the building signage, they open at 11:30, and the buffet was changed to $15.95 (not $14.95).I ordered a mango drink of some kind (it was very difficult to understand the server), and it was DELICIOUS! Cold, creamy, sweet, and incredibly tasty!! The server's (owner's?) thick accent made communicating difficult, but he (along with the entire staff) were VERY friendly and courteous, and were attentive to their customers. The buffet consisted of 3 kinds of rice, Chinese noodles, 6 or 7 sauced chicken dishes (there were no other meats- only chicken), a few vegetarian options, and some falafel (I believe). A very limited selection, but kinda diverse? The stand outs were the fried rice and the Indian seasoned Basmati rice. Both were delicious. The noodles were good, too... but a bit cold. The Indian chicken legs were tiny (I thought they were wings) but tasty and tender, with wonderful spice and heat. The naan bread was brought fresh from the kitchen, well buttered, fluffy, soft, and lightly fried- amazing! The sauces for all the dishes were very good, especially the Dahl. The issue I had with the food was the chicken! All of the chicken in the 7 or 8 chicken dishes, with the exception of the baby chicken legs, was MASSIVELY DRY! Like, incredibly overcooked white meat. The General Tso's wasn't as bad; being deep fried helped out the texture somewhat, but it had still been hammered. Even the falafel was an issue... the first fried patty I tried was moist, delicious, well seasoned, and perfectly fried. Still hot! The second one I started on (but didn't finish) was incredibly dry, overcooked, and cold. Maybe from a batch from earlier that was reheated? But... I was their first customer of the day...? All-in-all, a rather expensive meal for pretty inconsistent food, with relatively few high points. Given the food quality, the very limited selection, and the price, I would have given 2 stars had it not been for the delicious mango drink, the fantastic naan, and the 1 good falafel. Sadly, not enough to justify a $16 lunch.
