Found a hair in our food. Didn't throw too big of a fuss. Then got our steak back to it being rare. The manager also just wanted to prove that he wasn't wrong and "everyone's rare is different". The response to everything is why we will not be back.

Tried to order take out..was put on "hold", and by put on hold I mean they put the phone down..I could hear the conversation... 7 minutes I waited..nothing. The food is good..but the service is terrible.

The lady made us go to the van for an ID to start then we got a steak and shake level chef that couldn't make fried rice right then made fillet mignon that tasted like it was from Walmart, never did anything special with the Knives like you'd expect from "Ichiban" and to top if off when the lady asked how it was I was honest they gave me attitude and did nothing to compensate for the $173 meal besides call the police to tell me they couldn't help go to one somewhere else

When I walked in the door, someone took the time to say hello to me. I was absolutely blown away, it means the world to be acknowledged every once in a while. Our chef flipped broccoli into my mouth, and even though I wasn't able to successfully catch it, he didn't give me a hard time. That also meant the world to me. After the meal, I got a fortune cookie that changed my entire outlook on life. My boo thang means the world to me. Heeeee hawww

I hate leaving bad reviews, but we had such a bad experience. The food was bad, the Nigri sushi was served on hot rice, they got two of our food orders wrong, and there was a hair in our food. As a Japanese man I cast shame and dishonor upon this establishment.

I have been here before - 3 years ago - but went last Thursday 9/1/22 evening. It was my son's 13th birthday. It was not busy at all. I wasn't expecting much... but the servers were great and our chef!! Not to mention our food was fabulous!! It was great and will be going back sooner than later!

Ichiban Steakhouse ZANESVILLE, OH. - Terrible food, terrible service, terrible management. We've been regulars for years at this restaurant however, the owner and manager seem to have "Q & S" - Quit doing their jobs but Stayed to collect the paychecks. The outside condition of the restaurant has significantly degraded (embarrassingly bad); the inside of the restaurant isn't much better. Patrons literally stick to the floors as they walk, and even when seated at the booth or hibachi. The staff are mostly polite, and the food USED to be decent. (We suspect that it's being prepared correctly but is setting for long periods of time waiting for the servers to deliver it to the tables). We stopped visiting the restaurant several months ago because of reasons related to cold food, incorrect food orders, and the appetizers arriving after the entrees. Today we returned after 4 months, in hopes that it had improved. The food arrived out of order - again, and when the entrees came, they were brought by another server (ours had disappeared for quite some time). The chicken on the plate was cold, and my first bite went right into a napkin. We couldn't find anyone to microwave it for us, so that it would be edible. We waited several minutes for someone to check on us, however, we eventually had to go to the front of the restaurant to find some help. The manager (who typically sits in front of the computer behind the counter) was not visibly on site anywhere. They eventually heated up our food, however, our appetites were lost, and we left 70% of the food on our plates. I emailed the company through its Facebook account as soon as we left. The manager replied from his personal Facebook account with an explanation that the server was pregnant and that he was not going to "upset her by saying something". To be clear, we were not aiming to upset anyone. We were very polite to the servers during the entire dining experience, and we actually tipped the original server 20%. The manager completely missed the message of the complaint. We have no other choice but to report the restaurant to the county Health Department, as serving cold food is dangerous and not acceptable for the amount of money they charge for a meal. They have a responsibility to maintain safety regulations at the very least. We understand the delicate situation that businesses are in today with the world being in such chaos and uncertainties, but it's not acceptable to take people's money and deliver subpar products/service in return. We won't be returning in any matter.

First time visiting after they reopened their dining room. Food was absolutely horrible. It tasted old. It seemed like the ingredients the chef used were out dated. Definitely won't be back. Use to love going here but the food quality has went down substantially since the closure of their dining room because of COVID.
