Without reservations we worried we couldn't be seated on a busy Saturday dinner. but the hostess placed us in the lounge downstairs. The renovated old downtown building is decorated in a chic contemporary style that feels rich and urban for a small city. Chef inspired dishes with seasonal variations paired with Cypress Hill wines. Loved my fall salad with salmon. Wonderful way to celebrate my birthday.

Great atmosphere and staff. The food is delicious, particularly the Brussels Sprouts. The quality from the bar is high and they know how to make a good Manhattan, which is rare.My one complaint is the last two times we visited we noticed lots of fruit flies and that indicates the staff is falling short in their side work and the managers don't understand how important cleanliness is to the long-term success of a restaurant.

Went again for my dad's birthday. The food was ok this time. The crabcake was very skimpy and not worth the price. Jeff Ruby has the best crabcake and the price is high, but they do delivery. Don't charge $30 for "crab salad" ( see pic) the Apple French toast was delicious and I loved the presentation. The Lobster Benedict is plentiful as well. I really want this place to succeed, so please do better. If the cost is too high then change your menu, don't keep low quality for high prices.

Birthday Dinner at Hudson & Essex last night with Colleen & Mom. There was a private Sherrod Brown political function going on down in Cypress Cellars so we had to settle for upstairs! Almost as good as the Cellar JK! The entire staff at H&E are absolutely top notch! Easily one of the best places in the Mansfield area, if not THE best! We decided on the Armenian cheese bread as a starter. Delicious as always! For dinner, I decided on there special chicken wings! My wife settled on a small filet and mom the nightly special, lobster succotash. All the dishes were extremely well presented and absolutely delicious! Hudson and Essex is always a wonderful place for a lovely dinner! Looking forward to our next visit!

We were very surprised to find the Prohibition, let alone impressed with its experience. There is no yelp or Facebook presence. Despite such we discovered it with word of mouth and Google (they do have a discreet web page...but little traffic gets to it). We spend a month in the Ohio area and routinely have pot roast or subpar mexican Food for options...so we were excited to try it!The Prohibition requires a reservation and although it is "under" Hudson & Essex's fine dining restaurant, it does not share the same menu nor dining room. Its 29.5' underground! The dining room itself is worth the experience. Period. Setup in late 1800's to ferment beer, it has been converted to a special restaurant experience. Loved the food. I posted a picture of the room and menu from our special nightIt's pricey. Totally fair price and less than you would pay In Cleveland for similar. Unfortunately, the price may chase several away. You simply cannot recreate this experience or quality of food for less, though. The owners were lovely. They greeted us at our table. Thanked us for our patronage. Shared how they discovered the caverns...and, visited the other tables. Service was great. Wine pairing was remarkably inexpensive and limited to the local onsite winery options. We would highly recommend this place for a special evening. For us, we celebrated our anniversary.

First time. Some thoughts:Ambiance was lovely. I can see why it gets rave reviews. Needed some music on. Was very quiet. Wait staff was friendly. Bacon wrapped scallops - B-. Tasty but just not much zing for your dollar. 4 scallops - $18Beef tartare - good but uninspiring. Better portion size. $18Wedge salad - while it was good and the horseradish dressing was very good. Was a 1/2 wedge. Very small. $12Mushroom Swiss Burger. Mushroom very good. Burger ordered med rare. Straight raw (said in a Gordon Ramsey voice). Wayyy to much bun. Bun overwhelmed this Drinks: Sangiovese. As a wine snob, very good. Probably the most reasonably priced on the table. Bloody Mary - asked for it extra spicy - bartender obliged. Very tasty.

The food and the service were both amazing! We sat at the bar in the restaurant upstairs which had a nice view! The bartender was super fun to talk to and we had really great service! The Armenian cheese bread is to die for! You MUST get it! My friend got the Caesar salad and she said it was good but nothing too special. We both had the filet with broccoli and truffle fries. The filet was amazing and cooked perfectly to my order. I wish the fries were thinner and crispier but that is personal preference. They still had really great flavor. The bartender recommended the whipped cheddar mash, but they were all out so we will be back to try them! They make their own wine and the few that we tried were very good! The manager even gave us a tour of the Prohibition at the Caverns, which is only open on the weekends. We will definitely be back again!

Nice upscale restaurant. The bread service and charcuterie boards are varied and large. I'm normally not a brussel sprout person, but man, couldn't stop eating them. Oh and the delectable smell when entering- it's the wood fired grill. Too bad that doesn't come in a perfume.

The scenery was beautiful. We were downstairs in the basement but the upstairs as I noticed walking by was gorgeous as well food was really good and came out. Relatively quickly. Service was great. We walked in 30 minutes late of our reservation due to traffic and they had still held our table. We had to call ahead but that's expected a little pricey, but that's expected for the type of restaurant it was. It was great for a special time occasion definitely would go again!
