PARENTS AND STUDENTS SAVE YOURSELF! DO NOT RENT THROUGH HOMETEAMS! I would give 0 stars if possible. Hometeam Properties was a mess the whole time. Health violations they lied to us about, charges that don't make sense, impossible to get in contact with, biohazard materials being left in our apartment for weeks without any accommodation or attempt to fix the issue, they towed MY car from the parking spot I payed for. AND SO MANY MORE ISSUES! I am begging you to avoid this company for your own good, don't make the same mistake I did youll regret it. I lived with LITERALLY SEWAGE and human waste in my basement and it took them weeks to accomplishes the issue. And they only did so since I threatened to get a legal team involved. If this isn't enough to convince you I don't know what is. Here's an image of the sewage that sat in my apartment without any help of management.

The studio building I moved into was conveniently located, quiet, and clean. If there were ever any issues (non-emergency) maintenance had it fixed within 24-48 hours. I loved that there was on-site laundry at no cost. Sophie made the sublease process stress-free and was so kind and wonderful. Communication has much improved in the leasing department. -2 stars for the trouble that comes along with parking and the cost for a parking spot- it is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS and one of the most expensive in the area by hundreds of dollars. It's 1000x cheaper to pay for a street parking permit for an entire year.

Terrible Living Experience - Would Not RecommendI regret moving here. From the start, the apartment was not as advertised. The photos online were misleading, and the place was smaller and in worse condition than I expected. There were visible stains on the carpets, the appliances were outdated, and the paint on the walls was chipped in several spots. Not what I paid for at all.The maintenance team is incredibly slow and unresponsive. I submitted a work order for a broken AC unit, and it took over two weeks for them to fix it, despite several follow-ups. The management is rude and dismissive, and it feels like they don't care at all about residents. The noise level is unbearable - thin walls mean you can hear everything your neighbors are doing, and it's impossible to get any peace and quiet. Not to mention, the parking situation is a nightmare, with spaces constantly taken by non-residents or guests.Overall, this has been a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable or stress-free living environment.

DO NOT DO IT. IM TELLING YOU.. DO NOT DO IT ! I signed a short term lease with Hometeam properties and was living in an inhabitable apt. Noticed roaches two days after move in. I also was waking up not being able to breathe, had a sore throat, and felt sick for about most of my lease. I would have friends stay over and they would complain about how stuffy there nose, sore throats, and there breathing as well. That let me know that I was not crazy. MAN they came to check the air and said nothing was wrong and to get an air purifier. I invested in one. Nothing changed. They told me the only way I could get out of my lease was to get someone else to sublease. I could not do that, could not lie to someone about the space they were signing up for. UGHH It made me so sick to give them my hard earned money. Let alone feeling sick while making that money to pay for a space that could not provide me with a healthy living. LISTEN I PRAY SOMEONES DADDY OR MOMMY HAS THE MONEY TO SUE THIS COMPANY. I moved out a few days ago and will be grateful for simply the air I breathe. If you made it this far thanks for watching. And hometeams wow so disappointed in you.

Short Version:Rent from Hometeam if you want your life to be difficult. This morning I received an email saying that I owe 112.68$ and that it will be going to collections if I don't pay within 30 days of my move-out date (I moved out 251 days ago). It is a 12$ electricity bill that Hometeam received after they returned my security deposit. They added $100 in fees.Long Version:I rented from them for a year and moved out May 2023 and received my security deposit back.I received an email from them 6 months later in December 2023 stating that I had an outstanding balance of ________ (the balance in the email is literally blank).I try to log into my account on their online web portal to see if there are any charges but it says that my account has been closed. I call during business hours multiple times (no one answers) and leave a voicemail asking for more information (they don't respond). I end up assuming that the email was an accident that resulted from my account being closed with the company. This morning I received another email saying that I owe 112.68$ and that it will be going to collections if I don't pay within 30 days of my move-out date (I moved out 251 days ago). I called their office phone number 11 times during business hours (I counted) before someone answered. It turns out that after I moved out and Hometeam returned my security deposit, they received a $12.68 electricity bill. They graciously waited 7 months and slapped on $100 in fees bringing the total to $112.68.Me: "This is really stupid but I can pay the bill. Can I give you my credit card information over the phone?"Them: "No."Me: "Can you restore my access to the online portal and pay the same way I paid when I was still a tenant?"Them: "No."Me: "Is there any way I can pay online?"Them: "No, can you drop payment off at our office?"Me: "No, I live in Florida"Them: "Then you will have to mail us a cashiers check"I will conclude this rant by briefly mentioning the paint splatters all over the rooms when I first moved in, the toilet full of urine and cigarettes when I first moved in, the lack of a simple ceiling light in the bedrooms (you need to bring your own light to plug into the outlets), crappy parking situation, thin walls, and cheap everything.Basically, rent from Hometeam if you want your life to be difficult.

I have rented all over Ohio for work/college and I have never had such a terrible renting experience. It started from the day I signed the lease- they kept mixing up who should be on the lease with tenants from other apartments and to this day they still email me/text me about my apartment and are talking about the wrong apartment/address. Not to mention their poor management. they will give you a heads up that they will be entering the apartment sometime in a few week-month time frame and walk in whenever they want without any additional notice. With the amount of times they contact us, i thought they would be good with communication but they have never once responded to any email i have sent them. Our roof has been leaking for months and they have "fixed"' it multiple times and yet it still leaks heavily. Not to mention silly hidden fees I've experienced since moving in. This is the most disorganized, chaotic, and poorly managed rental company I've ever worked with and I will never ever consider renting from them again.

DO NOT RENT WITH HOMETEAM!!! PLEASE READ!!!Can't wait for the BS Hometeam automated responses that gaslight the reviewers saying "oh we don't have any work orders or oh we having had emails from you" ITS ALL A LIE AND DON'T BELIEVE THEIR WEASELING GASLIGHT BS!! It's the only thing they put energy into: lying, scamming, weaseling their way out of any complaint, BIOHAZARD, or dangerous situation. They enter whenever they want for maintenance, which is extremely dangerous and CREEPY!! I have been half naked and someone is pounding on my door, then 10 seconds later they're unlocking it and busting in! I'm calling the cops next time and will file reports especially when I am a female alone in an apartment and these UNKNOWN OLD MEN (90% OF THE TIME THEY DONT HAVE ANY CLOTHING IDENTIFYING THEM AS HOMETEAM STAFF). They are too brainless to simply set up times for maintenance to come. The office has no idea when they will come, there is zero communication. 5 year olds could run this establishment better. The pump in the basement flooded TWICE and it took days for them to clean it. There was 2 inches of SHIT SWEAGE WATER flooding our basement laundry room and seeped through the walls to the bathroom. THAT IS LITERALLY A BIOHAZARD AND THEY DIDN'T DO SHIT FOR DAYS!!! The basement and basement bathroom smell like sewage when it rains and it overflows in the basement at least 1-2 times a year. Maintenance can take weeks to come or days, they take forever to fix things and are gross, lazy, and inconsiderate of the units and tenants spaces. They take all security deposits no matter how clean you leave your unit at the end of the lease. Our mailboxes are all the same at each property and they're all busted into and broken because once you break into one, you know how to get into all of them! And they have ignored and cancelled every work order! We can't get mail without it being left open or stolen. POLICE REPORTS WERE FILED FOR BROKEN MAILBOXES AND THEY STILL IGNORE AND DELETE WORK ORDER REQUEST FOR MAILBOXES.I had my bedroom window leaking water into it for an entire year of my lease until it was fully fixed, then the living room did the same. They weaseled their way out legally by saying they worked on it at least every 30 days which was a lie! I didn't even live in it for months and stayed at a friends. There was also zero insulation and I got sick during the winter because of how much cold air blew onto my head! The bathroom fan is garbage, might as well be off. Doesn't help with shower condensation or the smell of using the bathroom. Mold forms in the shower and on the ceiling after a while because there is no ventilation. We've tried to clean the fan and it doesn't do shit, it's just a garbage fan. Have to bleach the shower and ceilings monthly to get rid of the continuous mold growth.Appliances look nice but are actually poorly put together or break often and easily. The closer you look at how everything works and is assembled the shittier it gets.AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. I thought oh it can't be as bad as the reviews say because this unit is nice. TRUST ME there's always issues you can't see and they will not help you! They don't care! All they care about is their money, and putting glitter on a pile of shit to sell it.If you have no other option and have to rent with them. TAKE PICTURES OF UNIT WHEN MOVING IN! HAVE DOCUMENTS AND PROOF OF EVERYTHING AND SETUP A RELATIONSHIP WITH STUDENT LEGAL SERVICES.

There is not enough to say about how terrible this business is. I waited months to leave this review after moving out because when working with them you never now how long a process may take to be fully out of their hair. They left me on their collections list for months when I had no debt to them whatsoever. If you live with them do not expect to receive any proper maintenance as they do a terrible job to fix any problem. They have no problem with walking in unannounced with no prior notice. They send month long Marianne warning which is not legal to do in the state of Ohio. Comment with this company you will regret it the whole time you live in their units. LOOK ELSEWHERE AT ALL COST!!!!!

If I could give zero stars I would... Hometeam is by far the worst renters I have ever dealt with. I would save yourself and your wallet from Hometeam properties. They will take advantage if college kids as they have with my roommates and I, charged us $750 EACH for an apartment that has mold, cielings falling through due to water damage, A/C that goes out , a broken dryer that takes 3 times to get your clothes reasonably dry. Maintenance will take weeks to get to you if at all. Not to mention the staff are some of the most awful people. Special shoutout to MaLaika who is nothing but unhelpful and rude at all times, and also tried to charge us 75$ a month for parking when it is in fact 75$ a year. Hoping and praying that hometeam gets the big fat class action law suit they deserve!!!!

Hometeam has to be the worst managed leasing agency on campus. I've rented with them for 2 years and each year they find a new way to make the process more complicated. Its always either unavailable agents, missing or "incomplet" documents they wait an hr before the due time to inform you about, or the office building simply doesn't open during scheduled hours. Not to mention the fact that they will straight up lie to you and tell you one thing but when the time to fulfill it comes they reschedule/change within 30 mins with nothing more than "sorry there's been a mistake on our part". If I were you I'd only rent with them as a last resort and look for other places around the area first.
