I love this hometown restaurant. The food was delicious! Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. Counter service is available,

cute little place, nice people and good food. not the fastest but it was pretty full for the few people who worked there. seems like a very popular local spot because everyone knew each other. I would recommend trying this place out if you are in town, as long as you have patience and speak up to ask for more drinks. It's not bad service just different when it's a local spot versus a big place.

We ate there a couple of times. Food and service was great, but it's now Closed and building is up for sale.

Doesn't look like much when you first drive/walk by. It's this tiny cute little old fashioned decorated mom and pop diner type place. My partner and I were in a wedding yesterday and decided to pop in on our way home. I also am accompanied by my service dog. The staff is so bubbly and lively and the waitress we had is originally from our home town which is even cooler! Also I must say the prices are amazing! Gotta try everything on this menu! The food was amazing!!!!! We will definitely make a point to make the 3 hour drive back out here in the near future to visit our new friends here at the homestead family restaurant! Can't say enough amazing things!!!

We we leaving a week of camping and wanted a celebratory breakfast on the way from Mount Gilead to Pittsburgh. My wife usually trusts me to find hidden gems that the whole family will enjoy... and I nailed it again. The French Toast was great, as was the Western Omelette (although I'd never seen mushrooms on a western omelette before). The coffee cups were large and the coffee was fresh and delicious. The creme de la creme was the pancake. My daughter had to be convinced that a $2.45 pancake was going to fill her up. Gotta love the small town portions and prices!The only thing preventing 5 stars... a lack of non-dairy options. Coffee creamer, Almond Milk, anything would have been appreciated.

Took them a few minutes to tell us to sit anywhere we'd like . When we sat down we were literally ignored or overlooked for at least 15 minutes . While we waited, we saw other people enter and be served right away . After they took our order we were not approached again for coffee / water refills for several minutes . When we finally got our food it tasted fine . Not good enough to ever make us want to return !The giant pancake was the high light of the trip is was huge and pretty funny . It could have fed four people lol over all I wouldn't recommend this place . And they weren't friendly .

Terrible service. We never tried the food. We ordered and then waited for an hour. There was an entirely new group of customers being served, so we asked when our food was coming. The waiter told us five tables were still ahead of us. We were a party of three and had ordered eggs and pancakes. We gave up and left.

Typical breakfast place but very good and prices are right. Get a pancake. Delicious and huge !

Wonderful Family restaurant atmosphere. Friendly service, good food if not much of a range. Try the blue berry pancake and notice I said "pancake." Took my son in and told him to order one. He fussed but the chef said he'd give him another if he finished it. "Challenge accepted," he said. He lost, but he loved the pancake. Other good choices are their chicken meals.

This is a must stop for breakfast! Very friendly atmosphere, fantastic food and great service!
