Hoggy's Restaurant and Catering

We need to put Ohio bbq on the map! I've had bbq in Texas, Kansas City, Carolina, and Hoggy's is truly a standout spot. We got the Grazer Platter with brisket, pork ribs, and pulled pork. I loved the options of adding toppings like pickles, onions, candied jalapeños, etc. The toasted buns were fantastic, I really dislike the cold plain white bread that other bbq joints include. Plus, the cornbread muffins were so moist and had real bits of corn. The meat- loved it all. We got the lean cut of brisket (they sold out of fatty cut), and it was still pretty good. The pork ribs were my favorite, fall off the bone, smoky, delicious. My fiancé loved the pull pork and he's not usually a pulled pork type of guy. Absolutely fantastic and we both left thoroughly impressed. The sides were great too, loved the baked beans and potato salad, but to be honest we both weren't a fan of the Mac & cheese. While dining in, the staff checked in on us multiple times. Overall a great environment and we hope to come back, it's worth it even coming down from Cleveland!

I've been following their account on Instagram for about six months to a year now. Finally got a chance to make it up here today. I tried the brisket, Philly cheesy potatoes, baked beans and their smoked wings with the Texas Pete hot sauce. These might be my favorite wings in Columbus. The sides were incredible and now I have to go back to try the smoked turkey sandwich and get two different sides. Highly recommend this place. 10/10

Came in on a Wednesday around 5:30. Happy hour until 7:00, half price beers. Had the Wings, turkey, pulled pork, brisket. Green beans, baked beans, macattack & cheese. All excellent! Chef was very helpful with our selections. Loved it! Will come back again in a heart beat! Don't understand why there's not a line out the door.

Another fantastic visit to Hoggys for lunch! No lie, they have to have probably the best brisket in town ever. I actually asked for some end pieces and they were just soaked in flavor. Pro tip, you can ask for any part of the brisket you would like whether it be the flat or the point or the end pieces like I did today. What really evens everything out is the fact that all of their side items that you can have put on the tray are from scratch and phenomenal. Don't waste time, go there today!Picture is their 2 meat platter. Brisket and pulled pork with a complement of sides. I got the broccoli salad as my main side and then a number of condiments. Pickled onions, coleslaw, housemade pickles, lettuce, pimento, cheese, sweet, thin, slice, cucumber, pickles, bacon, jam, and hog fire sauce.I was doing a low-carb thing.

Best ribs in Columbus! We haven't been to Hoggy's since they left Grove City, we were happy to see them again. You walk in and the smell of bbq is unmistakeable. I ordered the full rack of ribs, cheesy potato's and corn muffin. Ribs were super tender with a killer bark that had tons of flavor! Cheesy potato's were great, not a mashed potato but not scallop potato either... really good. My wife had the Mac n cheese and it was there same excellent flavor that we remembered. Oh yeah we went for the 95 cent wings and forgot to order them. A staff member came around and asked how everything was and I asked to get two wings and he brought them out at no charge. Truly nice people here. This is a better choice than City BBQ in my opinion. Can't wait to go back.

It's a fast casual restaurant. I saw the menu on the wall and asked a few questions about the "Build Your Best Que". I ordered the brisket on salad with Columbus Original sauce. He did ask if I wanted fatty or lean brisket which was a great option and my lean brisket was pretty lean. My brisket was very tasty. The salad was fresh but uninspired - a little lettuce, a little cherry tomato, some shredded yellow cheese, something else - maybe pickled onion. But I get it - it's a meat restaurant. Service was instantaneous. One thing that bothered me was the music! It was not just awful and pretty hard to talk over but it also would intermittently get even louder - which some music does, but that's not what you should have playing in your restaurant.

I've been following Hoggy's for some time on Instagram and finally made the 3+hr trek to go check this bbq eatery out. The store is huge! Very welcoming as you walk up and open the doors and enter. Reminded me of a few bbq joints we've been to in Texas. The nice folks behind the counter were very helpful. Similarities again with Texas bbq, you stand behind the counter and tell them what you want and they slice and serve it up for you. It really is a feast for your eyes and your soul if you're anything like me. If you know me, you know I love good barbecue. Brisket is my 'go to' and they allow you to chose between the less fatty(flat) and the more fatty(point) so as I walked up, I could see the flat sitting on table to the right and mercy, it looked a bit dry for me so went with the point. Decided on the 'graze' 3-meat option. The brisket we got was good but not nearly as tender and flavorful as I would have liked it. The ribs 'bark' was way too chewy but the meat inside was incredibly tasty. My favorite main was the pulled pork but only when dipped in to the mustard based bbq sauce. The Mac & cheese, the pickles and the baked beans were incredible. Will we go back? It's a long drive for just lunch but if we are in the areas, I'd drop back in and give them another try. The one thing that was off to me was that one employer who stood at the table next to us and just talked and talked about the most obscure topics with another set of patrons. I was hoping they'd finally sit down with them so I wasn't in a direct line of their voice. Again, food was good, brisket was a bit of a let down but as we all know , the can be fickle piece of meat.

Wanted a delicious meal to fill my stomach and warm my heart. Hoggys understood the assignment, I was in hog heaven.The menu is vast but has the right variety for all to enjoy a delicious meal.The service was above par staff is attentive and make sure that you are enjoying the food served. It has a home town feel. The restaurant is spacious and very clean. The clientele was diverse ~ some had a working lunch, others were enjoying the company of friends. Definitely , adding them to my foodie list when I am in town

We got the Grazer with Brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. Sides of Mac and cheese, baked beans, broccoli Salad, and extra side of Cole slaw. It comes with two corn muffins with whipped butter. We got dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, and pickled onions for toppings. We also got the smoked and fried wings (with Jamaican me crazy sauce) which were on special. Everything was phenomenal. The meat was tender and flavorful. We also had to get the banana pudding and wagyu chocolate chip cookie, both sweet and rich and delicious. I live in Cincinnati but will definitely be back for this place.

Hoggy's is one on those restaurant that been on my list forever and finally get to try. They mainly serve on BBQ items, specifically Columbus Styled BBQ. They also offer sandwiches, wings, and their famous macbowls.As you order from the start of the line, any BBQ item they will assemble freshly as you order. Some other items they will bring it to your table. I would recommend to get one of the platter, so that you can try out different type of meat.My favorite would be their wings. The flavor and the texture is so on point. They do a double cook method, which they first smoked the wings and then deep fried them. You are getting the crispiness on the outer part, with the smoky and tender soft meat within. On top of that, their sauce bring it to another level.I also got a 2 meat sampler, with pulled pork and brisket. Both is very tender and super good with the sauce as well. Also need to call out the side dishes are amazing well. Totally my type of Green Bean and Potato Salad.
