Hogback Bbq Pit

We came across Hogback BBQ Pit at an event, and it smelled quite good! We picked up some meat, beans, and mac and cheese. The meat was excellent - tender and juicy, and the sauce was very good! The sides were only OK - the beans had a good taste, but were really thick. The mac and cheese had a strange aftertaste that we couldn't quite identify. We would get the meat again though, and maybe try some of the other sides (potato salad and cole slaw).

A lot of my coworkers ordered from this food truck for lunch. From the Mac n Cheese to the Chicken to the Brisket, everything was dry. Some employees paid the $16 for "The Pit" and were really disappointed with the portion amount and how dry everything was. Our boss heard several people discussing their disappointment with the food, so she told them to order take out from a nearby sandwich spot instead on the company. Definitely will be skipping this one next time they're around.

Hogback was set up near my employer today so I gave it a try. It was disappointing. I don't think I would have it a second time but was happy I didn't have to get in my car and drive somewhere for lunch. Meat had good flavor. unfortunately, my bun fell apart while eating the sandwich. I felt the portion of Mac was small for the price. My lunch today was $12 without a drink. Average for a food truck. As a positive the spicy bbq sauce was yummy!The service was quick but not the customer service you receive from other food trucks.

The pricing was not inline with the portion The meat had no flavor, and certainly didn't taste like the chicken had been smoked. Very disappointed for the money that was spent. I literally didn't eat, and went home to make dinner. Won't make this mistake again.

Decided to check this place. Heidi was running the show today. She related they had been in business for 4 years. Smoke everything themselves. Potato salad and Cole slaw are store bought and a little doctoring after that. They use some mild woods for their meats, apple/cherry. Probably some of the best flavored meats I have tasted in a while. They both were super moist. Typically you don't have all the meats being moist at a restaurant. The brisket had a great smoke ring and bark to it. They make their own sauces. One was sweet and the other had a little zip at the tail end. Also got the Mac n cheese which was okay but I don't think I would ever say this but to much cheese. Also ordered the baked beans which had a mix of 2 types of beans, a mild sweetness to them. They currently are running 2 Food Trucks. For sure I will try them again just hoping to get some dessert that Heidi makes on occasion.

no show, no communication, ghosted, believe the reviews. Asked to be the only truck and then bailed. Beware...scam likely.

Ordered tonight yum. Brisket sandwich with delicious potato salad and luscious beans. The brisket sandwich is tender with great bbq sauce. Husband is enjoying pit bowl with bbq pork, beans, Mac and cheese and slaw. He thought it was delicious.Looking forward to ordering again.

Had at new Albany October fest. Had to throw it away after spending $30. Dry as sawdust.

Dry, overpriced tiny portions, just shy of mediocre. You can safely ignore their food truck if you see it. I certainly should have.

I ordered "The Pit" which is Mac n Cheese on the bottom, then baked beans and then a meat on top (I got pork) with coleslaw on the side. The Pork was fine. The beans were ok and the Mac n cheese was average. Overall the entire meal was just that. Average, ok, fine. Nothing special here. The Coleslaw seemed store bought and had no color. It was pretty much just cabbage. One bite was enough for me. The meal with NO drink was $12. Seems a bit high for the amount of food you get but I'm not one to complain about price. I didn't have to cook and it was outside waiting for me.
