I recently became a member of the YMCA and have been enjoying going to the Hilliard location. It typically is pretty busy so if you want to swim, use the courts, workout, etc. I recommend getting there earlier in the day or later in the evening and try to avoid peak hours. However, with that being said you typically don't have to wait too long to be able to use the equipment, get a lane, or get time on the courts. I like signing up for the fitness classes and have really enjoyed all the instructors and the format of the classes. They're challenging but are good for all levels of fitness. I also like that they offer a wide variety of classes from yoga, cycling, strength training, cardio, etc. There's truly an option for everyone! This location also has a sauna and a steam room which I love and pretty much use regularly. The facility is typically pretty clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Their membership prices are very reasonable which is one of the main reasons I made the switch. I can use my membership at any YMCA location which is also a plus. So far, I've really enjoyed everything the YMCA has to offer.

Typical suburban Y, seems to be laid out almost exactly like the Gahanna one. Big workout area in the center with all the usual stuff. Pool off to the left with plenty of lanes, plus a decent open area with stairs for kids (and old coots like myself.) Clean, bright, open. Walking track around the workout area. All the usual activities, etc. Well out of my way, but if I'm over here for something else I will be back.

There's been a ton of improvement at this location over the last year. Pool is regularly open, and they have recently added some new machines/weights. No complaints on cleanliness.

I left my daughter in child watch and my daughter was having a hard time and was clearly sad and stood by the door i watched from the window and the caretaker ignored her the whole time until she saw me watching the invited her to play only because i was watching. When i went to pick up my daughter she was crying alone in a corner i was upset they did not call me. Also one time after we left they called me saying my daughter was crying and i let them know we had already left, They called the wrong child's parents!!!! Major red flag! I like the pools but either one or the other always seems to be closed. The staff also use the family bathrooms and keep family's waiting.

I'm a new member here and today I had a tour of this facility. A couple things I noticed was that it was kept exceptionally clean. A nice quiet gym for people of all ages. It was accommodating for parents who need help with childcare while they got a workout or a swim in. Erika was my guide and she was very knowledgeable about the facility/it's members, and she answered any question I had. The staff seems to have good energy, which promotes a good energy felt when inside the facility. Proud to be a member of the YMCA in Hilliard. I'd recommend this place to anybody.

Friendly customer service, convenient location, open when I'd like to go workout, and sufficient machines. Showers need to be cleaned more regularly, and it would be nice to have the sauna and hot tub open more regularly.

For the most part it's ok but the basketball court is not for everyone to use it's annoying that I pay for a membership like everyone else but 2 people can bring in 10 people as a guest at 1 time and not share the court and try to cause problems if you try to hoop you like they own it and when you tell the front desk and they don't care there more worried about if you steal the basketballs they offer than letting everyone know the basketball court it for everybody and not a nba game. Paid for the first month for me and my brother 120 dollars and canceled it

I have visited hundreds of YMCA across the country. While in a generic YMCA I use the pool and weight floor the most. I use the pool a lot because I am a swimmer. I am the first YMCA represented athlete to break 44 in the 100 free in history. In short, I use the pool and weight floor a lot. Now, why you should avoid this facility and your other better aquatic facility options. - This pool still uses sneeze guards, and lane reservations even though many other YMCA do not. This wouldn't bother me if the concern was helth and cleanliness, which it is not. Even though the YMCA has those measures in place thy don't follow any stringent cleaning measures or any other covid measures. The locker rooms are not clean, and they don't have a single covid measures in place like the ones mentioned above. The shower curtains have mold growing in the folds, on my visit there were underwear in the suit dryer with what looked to be feces left inside, and no other cleaning checkups. The weight floor doesn't have staff that frequent the machines to ensure things stay extra clean either. - Now, the lane reservations. The only reason this YMCA still uses them is because they don't want to deal with older members complain and they don't want to staff lifeguards to allow more members to use the pool. Even though a pool closed a couple weeks ago brining more staff to this location. As stated above their concern isn't cleanliness because they don't follow any other measures anywhere else.- The weight floor is always underlit. I know YMCAs don't have a lot of money so if they are trying to save money then it's probably time to close up shop then to continue doing its members a disservice and offering a poor environment.- Finally, the staff. I have seen management like this in several locations. Management more concerned with keeping their job, than providing its community with a pleasurable experience. Focused on doing the bear minimum than one of excellence. Higher management is coarse, disrespectful, and unhelpful. Every experience I have had talking with higher management has always left a sour taste in my mouth.Other Options; If you are an alumnus of OSU or know someone who is (for sponsored visits) I would recement using their facilities. Even if you have to pay for a gym membership, and visit a random city pool it would be better than this Y. Maybe even joining a masters swim team would be better. They have lost of freedom on those teams to come whenever you want or change the swim. If you have to use a YMCA I would drive the extra miles to go to the superior Liberty YMCA, or even the New Albany YMCA. The extra cost in gas or time is worth spending than coming to the Hilliard YMCA.

I joined to use the swimming pool in the early morning. They rent the pool to local high schools every morning so it's essentially closed to members (unless you like sharing a lane with 4 people) from November thru March. I joined in July and half of the showers in the men's locker room say "closed for repairs". It is now November and the only repair they've made is a new "closed for repairs" sign. This place has gone downhill quickly in the last few years. The entire place could use a fresh coat of paint and a thorough deep cleaning.
