This is park central for Hilliard P&R, with its main community center, its premier public pool, and a variety of sport facilities in the eight-acre spread. Accessed from Scioto-Darby bordering its north, the park is tucked between neighborhoods, fields, and golf courses. Mark K. mentioned in his review circa 2015 that there was no easy bike connection between Homestead park and here. In the five years since that weakness has been rectified with an off-road bike path running down Lappert Rd. This is the way I cycled here. Just turn south from the Heritage Trail, left at the round-a-bout at Darby, and cross the street into the bike access. The park was eerily silent for the sunny summer Saturday I visited on my ride. Normally you'd expect the place to be jumping on such a gorgeous day, but the pandemic has damper things. Connected to that fact, the public pool here is closed for the year. Normally, the Family Aquatic Center, as it is called, would be full of swimmers using its leisure pool, sports pool, lazy river, slides, and children sections. Now it has a weird, abandon amusement park feel, with the rides sticking up like ruins over the wall, and ghostly echoes of screams, laughs, and splashes that should be here coming to mine in the quiet. What I call a 'sports park' the grounds hold fields for baseball/softball, lacrosse, soccer, and disk golf. Basketball courts and tennis are of course are found, as well as horseshoe ring. There is a small amphitheater and a large sledding hill half-mooning the grounds like a Native American mound. There are some art park landscaping here, especially near the fishing pond, a rustic body split by a wood bridge. There are several shelter houses here to rent. The running/riding trail isn't all that great, but it does breeze through the heart of the park. There are several connectors that leads to and from the surrounding neighborhoods. There is also a rustic food garden found here.On the east is a Veterans Memorial garden with colorful flowers, waving flags, and reflective stones ingrained with locals who gave the ultimate price. In all a good city park with lots of amenities, easy access, and just enough artwork to give it character.

This is for the HFAC which stands for Hilliard Family Aquatic Center. It is located at Hilliard Municipal Park. We have purchased family memberships for the past two years in March to take advantage of the early bird discount. We have the keychain passes which they scan upon entry. Note: if you forget yours, you are out of luck and have to pay cash because they will not look you up by name. We always make a point of arriving on weekends when they open at noon so we can get a lounge chair. They do make announcements that these chairs are for people 18 and over, but there are still those who let their children use them. I'm shaking my fist. The kiddie pool is very fun for the younger kids; they have slides, fountains, and a bucket that dumps water when the bell rings (similar to Zoombezi Bay but smaller). The lazy river is cool to walk or float through, although there never seems to be enough rafts. There are two water slides in a separate pool, and another pool just for laps. The big pool has the shallow section with steps, as well as a kid slide on the opposite side. The lifeguards get younger every year, but seem pretty well trained. They are good about checking heights for the slides. They don't allow goggles on the kid slide. They sell swim diapers for $1.00 (cash only). They allow you to bring in coolers and your own food, even though they have a snack bar. I always see outside pizza delivery too. There are also plenty of big umbrellas for shade, and lots of grass.FYI for 2018 season. They are no longer allowing kids (or anyone I guess) to wear mermaid fins in the water. My granddaughter was very disappointed. Now the only place she can swim with it is at a private pool. They also no longer allow inflatable swim rings unless they are all clear. One plus: they can scan passes if you have them saved on your phone (I have them on the key ring app).

Four stars as a park in general, three as a riding space.Hilliard has some nice parks, spread out across town. This one is big, and has a variety of playing fields, paths, etc., and what looks like a water park (I didn't get close to it.) Plenty of tables, shelters, parking. I was here for a ride, and I was a bit disappointed. It doesn't connect to Homestead park, and the trail access in the park is sometimes narrow and overgrown. It's as if Hilliard doesn't care as much about biking as about other things, which is fine I guess, but makes it unlikely I will be back here. Still, a nice town park.

The Hilliard Municipal Park is a good place to go any day of the week. I really enjoy this park and their is a lot to do. You can catch a little league baseball game, go swimming at the nicest pool in central Ohio (my opinion), walk on several different trails, have a picnic, play on playgrounds, and just have a great day. Most people go to this park for the Hilliard Swimming pool. About 8 or 10 years ago this place went through a huge reconstruction project and added the lazy river, water slides, swim lanes, and many other areas as well. The diving well got a little less, cause they took out the high dive but it is still fun. I do have to say each year the Hilliard Swimming Pool hires at least one really awful lifeguard and this year she is really really mean. She blows her whistle the most and yells the entire time. She is just nasty and should not be able to work with kids or community members. The municipal park is usually where they shoot off their fireworks each year for the 4th of July. The park gets packed pretty early so make sure you give yourself plenty of time. You do sometimes need to rent the pavilions if you are having a big party. Great time here!!!

They have a small Disc GOLF course finally in Hilliard. I love Disc golf and now I have a course for a quick 9 holes in an hour. This course is not very challenging but it is a nice place to work on your short game. Play everything as Par 3. I think I could actually get an 18 on this course. This place is perfect to take newbies and kids to play the game. They also have accesible bathrooms and other fun options. I am not reviewing the pool, basketball courts, pond, tennis, community center, or softball fields.

Love the season pass for the pool. Best deal in town. One complaint however. And I think it's a big one. They take an 18 min break every hour. It's supposed to be 15, but it's usually 2 min early and a minute late. Anyway...15-18 min every single hour, is absolutely ridiculous. I can see that break every other hour, but not every single hour. Anyway. My two cents.

The municipal park is my top choice when it comes to northwest Columbus parks. This place has EVERYTHING. There's a skate park, playground, soccer field, lighted baseball diamond, lighted tennis courts, lighted volleyball courts, lighted horseshoe courts, stage area, concessions building, three ponds, a walking/bike path, numerous shelter houses, a pool, and real bathrooms. The grounds are obviously expansive to hold all this in. Even when there are lots of people there, you feel secluded because everyone's so spread out. And there's plenty of parking too. There's also a great hill near the skate park that's perfect for sledding in the winter. I like to go to the top and read/people watch on the hill in the summer. The hill overlooks the lake and is a peaceful spot to sit and think. The walking path has various checkpoints where you're supposed to stop and do designated exercises. Each checkpoint has a sign with detailed instructions for things like stretches and chin-ups.The pool is big and has several slides and a water fountain. It looks like it'd be a ton of fun if only I wasn't a water-phobe.At the back of the park, behind the pool, there's a community center and a senior center as well as a small veteran's memorial. The park is close to the Hilliard Darby High School and the Heritage Middle School. I'm sure the students get a lot of use out of it.I wish there were more events planned for the park or that the events were better publicized. The stage isn't much to boast about, and there's not a very good seating area around it, but I'd like to catch a show there just to see what it's like. For all its amenities, this park is still missing a certain vibe, so I'm docking it one star. I'd dock just half if I could.

I love walking in this park in the morning. However, on several occasions have found ALL the restrooms to be LOCKED (!!!!!)This has led to complete spoil of my walks, and me running all over the park searching for a restroom (two restrooms which are quite far apart) and when you find both locked its harrowing. Not sure how locking the restrooms help!!!??? Hope somebody listens and this changes, its a terrible experience when you are trying to go and have to run from one restroom to another not finding any of them open!!! I am sure somebody would come at me with a park timing rule book, but feel this is a COMMON SENSE issue.HOPING TO SEE THIS CHANGE. THANKS.
