High Bank Distillery - Gahanna

I live near the Gahanna High Banks, and when good friends da come to visit, especially ones who like whiskey, this is where we go.My friend had never been here before, but he's a whiskey lover, and I knew this was the perfect place to come. We got the Whiskey War flight, a sampler of the traditional winners that you'll always find a winner with.We wanted something light to snack on so we chose the pimento cheese... soooo glad we did. Great portion but better flavor.By the time we'd made notes on the whiskey and finished the cheese we were ready to hit the gift shop and purchase a bottle of Midnight Cask and the original Whiskey War. Believe me that it's a great place for a meeting, date, or just an afternoon by yourself. You'll have a good time in either situation.

Great service! Food came quickly. We almost enjoyed everything we ordered except for the Asian Salad. It didn't appeal to me as a salad rather it was more like a noodle dish. The apps we had were mussels, that was yummy. The brussel sprouts were good too, just needed to be a little more tender. Mains:1. Fish and chips - delish2. Chicken shawarma - this was ok, I think the chicken need a little bit more seasoning.3. Burger - was okay4. Blackened shrimp pasta was decent. There's plenty of parking, reservations are suggested especially on weekends.Happy tummy! Until next time

This was my first time dining at a distillery and I would say that I really enjoyed the experience. I was also a fan of the ambiance here. They had a lot of big TVs to watch the game , the restaurant was nice and the atmosphere was very casual.Food was good and the drinks were better. I had the Meatballs from the appetizers section, and then had the Blackened Shrimp Pasta for my entree. For drinks, I tried a few different whiskey such as the Double Oaked, the Whiskey War Barrel Proof and the Original Whiskey War, and I would say that the original was my favorite. Also had a mixed cocktail called the Banana Stand which was better than I expected.

Had an opportunity try a lot of menu items. Everything was just... fine. The sandwiches were thrown together so we didn't really get all of the ingredients in each bite- they were better the next day when we reconstructed everything. The brussel sprouts were absolutely amazing per usual. Service was slow; very few drink refills and took a while to get the checks. Was celebrating a birthday and it was a nice place to get a small group together

My husband and I have visited twice now on date nights and absolutely love this place. It's pretty noisy, so not someplace for a quiet, intimate date night, but we like the food, drinks and atmosphere. The service is good and parking is plentiful. We always start our meals with the crispy Brussels sprouts -- I highly recommend trying them out! Additionally, the non-alcoholic drinks are fantastic, which was a pleasant surprise to find at a distillery.

It is a nice brunch place, overall I would come back. When it comes to food, it is actually balanced in flavor and it is as clean as you can expect. I ordered Steak Egg and Cheese bagel, with side salads and I felt good afterwards which is unusual after dining out for me. My husband got a breakfast burrito and definitely enjoyed every bite. Everyone, actually liked their food, I didn't hear many complaints for sure. When it comes to beverages, they are super developed in alcohol section (including moctails), however they had no espresso coffee or hot teas, not ideal but acceptable. They did provide lemon with water which is a big plus in my books. Overall, it is nice place, relaxing atmosphere and nice flow of air when they can open their windows/doors to the outside. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.

This review is mostly for appetizers & all the cocktails as you can see, lol.Pretty disappointed their happy hour specials changed. Used to be 1/2 all their cocktails & appetizers & some other beer/wine specials.Now they do this 3/2/1 thing where it's $3 off cocktails, $2 off appetizers & $1 off beer/wine I think... not sure I'll be coming as much, as I made them a destination for HH.I am a sucker for thoughtful & unique cocktails and I have to say the From Husk to Dawn (the drink w/popcorn) was not disappointing!! All their cocktails were good.The Brussel sprouts portion is huge! Pretty tasty too. Not the best I've had but we enjoyed it.The mussels were yummy, again, not best I've had but I appreciate any menu that puts them on there. I will say that my experience was that a 1/4 of the shells were empty (and not swimming in the broth).Lastly, I was very pleasantly surprised by the deviled eggs!! Lots of flavor, not sickeningly rich or heavy & loved the pickles, the sauce & spice dust.Recently had them at The Pearl & these blew them out of the water.Service was great. Better experience with a server this time than anytime I've sat at the bar.

Had a pretty good experience at High Bank Distillery in Gahanna. The food was amazing but the service could use some work. I'm not sure if there were too many people or if it was a one off situation and our waiter was not very good. We arrived to High Bank Distillery on a Saturday afternoon and went straight to the bar and found someone leaving so waited for them to clean their spot and were seated right away. The man cleaning our area was able to bring us water which might have tripped them up because I think the bartenders thought someone was already waiting on us. After I said something we were handed menus and ordered drinks. I ordered the Blackberry Sage and my friend ordered the Rosé Cooler. The Rosé cooler has high bank vodka, strawberry reduction, rosé, lime. The Blackberry Sage has high bank vodka, blackberry sage reduction, lemon. Somehow our drinks got mixed and I ended up with the Rosé Cooler which worked out well for me because I liked it better. We ordered an appetizer to split, Queso Fundido that is spicy queso dipping sauce, pico de gallo, substitute chorizo for chicken, chihuahua cheese, house tortilla chips. It was very good! I would like to try it again with chorizo but my friend didn't want the chorizo. I want to come back soon and try all the appetizers as they looked AMAZING! If the food couldn't get any better, for my main meal, I got the Korean Philly with shaved ribeye, pickled onions & peppers, gochujang aioli, provolone cheese, sub roll. It was all so goodI highly recommend you checking out High Banks Distillery. It is definitely worth your money and the ambiance is so pretty and relaxing. I will be back to drink on the patio is the summer to try more appetizers.

Highbanks Distillery appears one large open room with mostly high top tables and a large bar in the middle. There are many TVs to watch and the place has a cool vibe. There is also a small patio that is a nice place to enjoy your cocktails. On my visit I enjoyed both the smoked old fashioned and end of anxiety drinks I ordered. I'm a big whiskey fan and high banks has a pretty tasty option with their award winning Whiskey War. I also ordered the green hummus which I would not recommend getting.

Son came home for Christmas - every year on the day he goes home he gets to pick a place for lunch. He had never been to HBD so he wanted to go there. We sat at the bar where Ciera was our bartender and server. Not only does she make a mean drink, she is a lot of fun and added to the trip in. We ordered smokey old fashioned and bloody marys. They make their own bloody Mary mix and it is excellent. My son is a fan of bourbon bloody Marys (aka bloody Mollys, bloody widows). We learned quickly that their mix does "not" pair well with bourbon.... Which is very odd since their whiskey and bourbons have won national awards. So we switched to traditional smokey old fashioneds. Soon our meal had arrived. The smash burger is filling. The patties are flavorful and not dry at all. It is paired with fries which were done perfectly. The caesar salad was huge. The dressing was thick and flavorful. I usually get the kale salad with salmon but was urged to try something new. So I did! My korean cheese steak had a lot of shaved steak. The peppers were grilled n tender. The cheese didn't over take the sandwich, like many cheese steaks tend to do. It was a nice balance. The bun was so fresh, as if it had just been baked. Of the four times we have come in recently, this was by far the home run trip. Everything just was knocked right out of the park and excellent. Thank you HBD Gahanna and Ciera for sending my son off to Arizona with such a fun and tasty lunch. Cheers to you! Five plus stars. It was excellent.
