Almost two years in Reynoldsburg and we JUST made it over to Hickory House. And what an experience it was. I feel like we have never stopped in because the outside looks so unassuming. The place is actually pretty massive and literally looks like a log cabin all throughout. There is a large wrap around parking lot so no need to have any parking anxiety. We arrived on a Saturday around 5:30PM and had no trouble getting a table. By the time we were leaving things picked up. Our waitress was a hoot. She was quite the sales person. Explained everything, super informative and very personable. With it being our first time she offered us some free bones to try. It was a lovely gesture and honestly ended up convincing us to get ribs. Everything we ate was good. I think of the meats I tried (chicken / pulled pork / ribs) the ribs were the best. The meat fell off the bone seamlessly. Super tasty. I think I only wish their BBQ sauce was a bit thicker. Pulled pork could have used LESS sauce in my opinion. Mashed potatoes were great, house made salad dressings were good, and you can literally never go wrong with bread for the table. We had a positive experience and would return again!

I have been here twice. The hostess, bartender & servers are very friendly. But I cannot come here too hungry because the food takes quite awhile to arrive. My first experience, the server was very attentive. The second time, not at all, I believe she was new because other servers were giving her advice. Both times the food was average. I can't remember what I had the first time, but the second time I had the BBQ ribs appetizer & a salad . The ribs had no flavor besides the sauce, it was like the meat was never seasoned & a salad is a salad. So nothing much to say there. Every time I have come, I never am seated by the hostess. They are NEVER around. The first time the bartender seated me. The 2nd time after a 5 minute wait, I went to the bartender to sear me. It is very dark in this place & not a cozy darkness with candles on the table or anything. Just dark like the middle ages

Went here with friends for dinner. There are two Hickory Houses in town. They are about 5-10 minutes away from each other. They appear on the same website... however, they are completely different and run by different people. What we noticed was at both the inside décor is similar. Woodsy. Cabin-ish feeling. The reynoldsburg one (this one) has a bunch of smaller rooms. More cozy than the gahanna one which has a one large room with a vaulted ceiling. The ribs at this location are just as tender, but the sauce definitely seems different and my ribs here were not as tender as Gahanna. I also ordered green beans here at Reynoldsburg... those are different too. Here they are more like the frozen short green beans and not seasoned the same. In Gahanna they are the long thin grean beans and seasoned steak house style. The servers at each location were nice but at the reynoldsburg one they are definitely quicker and slightly more friendly. That is a huge plus. That said: I prefer the ribs/beans at the gahanna location. The chicken parm here is quite amazing. Its probably one of the best Ive ever had. The mac n cheese here is better than the other location, too. Either location you choose... you get good food at a reasonable price. I like it.

I stopped a person coming out and asked what's good. He recommends ribs.. so ribs it was! I was greeted friendly. Football was on so into the bar area I went!I settled on the "get every thing BBQ platter". I comes with ribs, pulled pork sandwich (no bun for me) and chicken breast. A salad and side. Everything was fresh and very good but the ribs were fantastic! The sauce!! It should be illegal! (I'll take a vat of it!)

Went in for lunch on 8/13 and definitely will not be back. We were greeted by an older female hostess who had a snobbishly arrogant chip on her shoulder. I thought she was just having a bad day, so I smiled, ask her how her day was going, but got no answer. She stopped at our table ater and filled my tea glass... I said "light on the ice please". She arrogantly replied; "I know! I'm good at what I do". There were only six people in the restaurant (including our table of 2), and the ambience was dark and dreary and smelled like old grease. I think there was only one server in the restaurant. We saw her only three times; When she took our order, when she brought our food, and when she brought the check, that I had to ask for.My father ordered the lunch chop steak, and asked if they could leave the onions off, but if he could just have one slice of bread in exchange for the onions, that would be great. The server said they would have to charge my 87 year old father for one slice of bread!!! Let me say that again... They we're going to charge my 87-year-old father for one slice of bread!!!FIRST ORDER:- One small greasy fried hamburger patty with no toppings and no bread, - A very small baked potato,- One glass of iced tea. SECOND ORDER:One small greasy fried hamburger patty with no toppings and no bread, - A side of canned applesauce,- One glass of iced tea. Total Cost was OVER $40, without a tip!!!The whole experience was absolutely disgusting!10 years ago this place was awesome... I do not know what happened !!

If you want alcoholic beverages, ask to sit where Kelly doesn't work. My wife and I dine out a lot and she was, by far, the worst. In fact, tonight was the first time in my life that I did not leave a tip. My wife complains that I over-tip. I usually tip a minimum of 20% even when the service is adequate. 30% when it's stellar. Our bill was $299 and I left zero tip to make a point. Kelly was the worst server I've ever had. The restaurant was OK. She was terrible. If you want a relaxed time and some good food and want to go to this restaurant, I would suggest to eat at the bar and order your food from Jane. The is the bartender and was amazingly good at her job. I give Hickory House a 5 and Kelly the server a -4 which makes my overall score a 1. If you have any questions and want to reach out directly, my WhatsApp is +1-614-506-6783.
