Happy Little Treats

OMG, where do I begin this place is darling. I absolutely love every treat. I get from this place. You cannot tell it's vegan and gluten-free. The ladies are super sweet and are really attentive while I pick out my tasty treats. This really isn't a place where you can sit at a table and drink your awesome coffee and have your treats with it. All they have are benches and a couple of chairs. Don't let that deter you from going because what I come back for is their awesome desserts!!! You got a regular customer in me!!

On the whole, I love Happy Little Treats. I am vegan, so I am always, always going to support a local vegan business that provides quality products. They have delicious offerings, but there are some hiccups here. The service isn't especially friendly. They're alright, but you don't leave feeling particularly warm and fuzzy (there is one girl who is petite with short brown hair that is nicer than the rest but I don't know her name and I haven't seen her in a while). I love the Hot Honey Ham and Cheese croissant, but if you don't go when they FIRST open, they run out, which is super disappointing. I used to go every weekend for a stretch, JUST to buy two of those, but after going twice in a row and they'd run out of them by 10:30am, I felt like it wasn't worth it (no one wants to wake up first thing on the weekend to go hunt down a croissant, no matter how yummy it is). I told them they should make more of them, and the girl told me when they do, nobody buys them. Welp, that's that. I still go occasionally, but not nearly as much as I used to.

I've ventured past Happy Little Treats so many times but never stopped in because I assumed it was just another bakery. Since I'm vegan, I usually skip bakeries since quite a few have dairy or eggs in their ingredients.Well, I've been going to Two Dollar Radio Headquarters for a few years now and always grab their baked goods. In one of my visits, I mentioned how I loved their baked goods and that's when I found out about Happy Little Treats. Apparently, they provide Two Dollar Radio HQ with the baked goods, so I was an instant fan.So a few months ago, I popped into HLT for the first time and was blown away by the variety of fresh baked pastries and desserts. They have something for everyone at an affordable price. I can not say enough good things about their tasty treats. Try the oatmeal cream pie or any of the tarts. So good!The staff is always busy working on the next batch of tasty goodies, but they always take time to handle my order and answer questions.As much as I would love to continue gushing about them, I do have to mention what they lack and how they can improve.The inside is pretty run down and the dining room is more like a commons area for people to sit on benches. I'd love if they would bring at least a few small tables, even a small cafe tabletop would be better than eating from my lap.Also, I don't know if there's a restroom available, because if there is you'll have to go through their prep area.If Happy Little Treats would consider adding tables and an available restroom, I'd give them a perfect score. But, if you're just looking for a quick treat and aren't interested in staying, this spot is the perfect option.

Theoretically there is nothing wrong with the offerings, but I am not vegan so found the choices of milk for my coffee limited.I tried a homemade pop tart but found it to be a little of the dry side and crumbly.My biggest surprise was the lack of tables and chairs. I had to stand in front of the shop instead of savoring my coffee with a book.

Update: Try their chocolate Babka. It's a generous size. Easily shared by two. Rich. Flavorful and has just the perfect texture. Meant to take a picture but just couldn't wait and then devoured it Highly recommend.

Make it a point to stop in here for breakfast soon. Their baked goods are PHENOMENAL and extremely reasonably priced - I was shocked. It feels like a newer business when you walk in so I am sure they will spruce it up a little more once they become more established. Employees were very sweet and helpful. I will be back before long! Oatmeal cream pie is out of this world good and only $3.50!

My friends and I stumbled into this store to kill some time before an appointment. The coffee turned out to be a pretty good, simple but yummy latte. The coffee shop has a lot of plants and a small display of baked goods as well. If you love fall flavors you should definitely come take a look as they have both pumpkin and apple versions.

This little bakery was an amazing find. I am an enthusiastic and skilled home baker (laminated pastry and brioche in the wheelhouse) and I visit bakeries wherever we travel. In the past, I have had mixed experiences with vegan pastry, ranging from unimpressive to acceptable. These vegan baked goods are on a par with excellent conventional baked goods, and I am including numerous European bakeries in my comparison! I don't know how they manage to attain the same lightness, flakiness, and flavour without the animal products; simply amazing. The croissants, brioche, and pop tarts were particularly impressive. We visit Columbus once or twice a year, and future visits to HLT are in our future!

we ordered two drinks and they were delicious! great service too. very friendly people! the decoration is super cute too! 11/10 for sure.

Best bakery in town! Love every flavor of pop tart, coffee is great and staff is super friendly!
