Gw's Fine Food and Spirits

We got a table as soon as we arrived at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. At 11:30 we were still waiting on our food. I inquired if they were working on our ticket yet and they replied, they "hadn't got to it yet." We paid for our soda and coffee and left. How can you operate a restaurant in which you can't serve people. The place was full because you can't turn over your tables.

As far as small town diner-style places go, GWs is at the top of the list in Tiffin. Their American diner staples shine on a menu of classics. The specials are affordable, tasty, and portion sizes are large. Driving down the street, a person wouldn't think this is a gem, but the unassuming edifice shouldn't fool an out-of-towner. This space used to be a restaurant called Wymie's, but has been transformed into something far better. I always remember Wymie's as a kid, but never remembered it being all that great. THIS place, however, is exactly what a diner should be. The roast beef Manhattan is absolutely delicious! The pies are homemade, and most of the food seems to be scratch made. Servers were prompt, courteous, and attentive. The decor is clean, for the most part, and well maintained. I could definitely recommend GWs to someone looking for a hearty meal at a good price. This joint has real value!

I've eaten here many times and it's never disappointed. Hot and fast diner food. Friendly service. Usually I come here for breakfast, but they have a lot of offerings on the rest of the menu mostly I would say sports bar type things. Everything I have had has been good. Located on the South end of Washington Street in downtown Tiffin, this diner/bar has provided home cooked style meals for many years. It was previously called Wyme's and the business changed owners and is currently called GW's. Most of my recent visits have been to go there for some home-cooked breakfast rather than opting for fast food choices. They have the typical diner choices for breakfast and lunch. We always have fast and friendly service. They are always coming around and refilling our coffee. There is a large flatscreen TV on the dining side and they keep the volume low and the closed captioning on so you can watch the news while you're eating your breakfast. On the opposite side of the dining room is the bar area with ample seats up at the bar and some tables and chairs for additional seating. There are about five flatscreen TVs on that side for people wishing to watch sporting events, while enjoying a few drinks or grabbing a bite to eat. I think some of the other previous reviews of this place were a little harsh. We have never experienced anything like that and have been coming here for years. It's not perfect, but it's a nice place to come and enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner at reasonable prices.Today my husband and I decided to order "The Mess" (see picture), which is one of our favorite breakfast items when we don't know what we want. There was girl in the kitchen and we assumed by her question of "what kind of cheese goes on this" that she was a new cook. I liked the way they put the egg, sort of a folded omelette style, on the top of The Mess, rather than scrambling the egg with all the other ingredients. My husband stopped by the kitchen window to compliment her as we were leaving and she said that was the first time she had made one. I think it made her day to hear that someone appreciated what a good job she had done. If you're ever in the area, I would not hesitate to give GW's a try.Review #24 08/08/16

I'm with Kelly S, need to add the table and chairs are filthy. Food took forever, server only came around 3 times, order, deliver, and give check.... Guess we should have been regulars.

Wish I could leave zero stars! Horrible food, horrible service. If you have an hour and a half to get garbage food this is the place for you!

GW is fine food and spirits is a good place to go because the food is fresh and hot for sandwiches and delicious salad to go with it and whatever you want to drink whether is beer, wine, or soda pop. Or maybe you just want water With a slice of lemon in it. Your fancy and enjoy

Great little place! The perfect greasy spoon hometown diner! $13 for steak and 2 sides. Hit the spot! Will go back if we find ourselves in Tiffin again.

Great food. Great spirits. Great pull tabs. I got the double decker burger and let me tell ya it didn't last long on my plate. Beer was cold and you can never go wrong with a cold beer. Walked out with more money then I walked in with.
