Today was my first time visiting this cafe. I attended a Meetup at that location. We arrived a few minutes before they opened. Upon entering the decor and atmosphere were very charming. There are a few rows of tables before the counter.I ordered Just the Two of Us, which is a vanilla latte. This drink was very sweet and very pleasant to drink. If you like coffee, an extra shot of espresso is recommended. I also got a regular coffee and banana muffin to go. The coffee was smooth, with no bitterness or sourness. I just added a little milk at home. The muffin was also good. Service was also great. The owner and his wife were working when we arrived. Both were very welcoming. The owner provided some details on their coffee. I need to return for some of their other food and drink offerings. I highly recommend others visit this place.

Update: still great. Menu keeps expanding, and there are daily specials. I've tried just about everything and it's all been good. I especially like the Secret Garden (raspberry mocha,) the sweet potato pie, and the huevos Mexicanos. Parking is better- a few street spots, but now also the lot next door (fenced in, beside the cafe.) I also noticed the bike path comes very close to here. Be careful on the short stretch of Sunbury, though; don't ride in at rush hour. There are two rooms off to the side for meetings or parties. Same classy, soothing decor as the cafe part.

G's Shepard is a nice little hidden gem. The cafe is pretty small but it is cozy and inviting. The staff was super friendly. We ordered drinks for carry out but enjoyed sitting in the cafe while waiting. We tried the iced In the Mood and a hot Buckeye. Both drinks were good. We also tried a cinnamon roll which turned out to be a raspberry roll. It was served warm and tasted pretty good. Overall this is a nice spot if you're in the area, they have a decent menu with standard breakfast offerings. Everything that came out looked really delicious. On a Saturday it's kind of busy so expect to wait a bit for food and drinks.

What a cute hidden gem. The women working were so friendly, there is plenty of seating and soft music, and the prices are very reasonable. The cappuccino is good quality espresso, and the burrito was hot and fresh.

On our way to ODU, we stopped to pick up a coffee and decided to try their Brandeis breakfast burrito as well. Fresh ingredients, hot and tasty. Cappuccino was tasty not needing to add sugar. What a cute coffee shop and greeted as soon as we walked in.

Great local coffee shop and cafe with a variety of food, and drink options. Additional spaces to host small events and meetings as well. Food options are broad and include a mix of sandwiches, salads, soups, burritos, burgers, waffles, gyros, and more. Significant amount of vegetarian and gluten free options all made with primarily fresh ingredients. Perfect stop in on the way to work, or a quick trip down from Ohio Dominican University which is just 3-5 minutes away. Currently parking is street parking and in the lot next door (just ask), so please be patient.

What a special place! Located at 900 Sunbury Road, G'a Shepard Springs Cafe is a small, intimate place with wonder food. Owned by Gladys Mariel Alvarez Jones, the place has a unique ambience. It features really good coffee ( I had a vanilla latte which was really good) but also other drinks, including smoothies. On the wall are pictures of women harvesting coffee beans in Kenya; East Africa is where coffee originated. There are tables that seat four people, and of course tables can be put together for groups larger than four, but there are also really nice comfy chairs around coffee tables where you can sit and eat, too. The Cafe offers live music once a month and in the decor of the cafe there are instruments on display that speak to the love of music of the owners. The walls are a beautiful shade of baby blue- which gives the place a calming spirit. They are purring in a patio outside which will help accommodate people in the summer when the live music fills the space. The food is a wonderful! I had chicken and grits (I substituted grits for the waffles which is how the item is offered on the menu) and both grits and chicken were perfect. The wings are roasted, not fried and the waffles (I tasted my friend's) reminded me of the waffles my mom used to make. There is some street parking and a yet unfinished parking lot. There are spaces for overflow and for meetings, which can be arranged with the owners. I can't put into words how much I enjoyed this visit. Oh, I forgot- there are gluten- free and vegetarian menu items as well. I highly recommend it!

It is a little gem in an unexpected place. The older building has been very nicely renovated inside - modern and filled with local art. The food is wholesome and familiar but that often is just what you want. We've enjoyed all we've had. The owner is generally there and it's sweet that she seems genuinely concerned that her guests had a good experience. There is definitely a sense of community there. Stop by and even consider visiting with other patrons while you're there - interesting folks!
