After moving and the Grove City location is now the "closest" to me, it is a decent Y but it is older. The gym is right in the middle of the space as you walk in. There is a "track" that goes around the fitness equipment. It is awkward trying to walk around people working out, and it is uncomfortable working out with people walking around you. They only have a few studios for classes. Yoga is held in a classroom like area. It is not a very relaxing space. I ended up cancelling my membership because I am too far away from the facility and not as comfortable going there as I was with my old Y location.

My absolute favorite branch of the Central Ohio YMCA. And here's why:1. Friendly, helpful staff. For real. They smile at you and ask how you're doing each time you check in. The fitness instructors remember your name, and follow up with you after classes and such. Great experience with each and every staff member I've come into contact with.2. The facility. It's clean, bright, and has SO much to offer. A full gym, a climbing wall, tons of free weights and circuit weight machines, a pool, sauna, and hot tub, and the most cardio equipment I've ever seen in one spot. I've never had a problem finding one to use when I wanted to. I'm talking like 30 treadmills, and an assortment of probably 50 or so ellipticals and bikes. Wow3. The classes offered. Whether you're looking for weekday morning, afternoon, or evening, or weekend classes, there are so many to choose from. I've tried boot camp woth a couple different instructors (Jon is killer...whoa), cardio craze and cardio blast, body blitz, and zumba. And that's just the tip of the iceburg. They even offer water fitness classes (which have an additional fee) and I can't wait to check those out!If you're thinking about a membership, and this locaqtion is at all convenient for you, come check it out.

Grove City LocationFront desk staff:The older brunette is never ready to scan people during the after work rush on week nights. If they do not want to offer self scanning, then always have someone "one guard" and be ready, not clustered up talking to each other.Group fitness instructors: Are there for their own workout and do not "walk the floor" to check the group is doing correct and safe positioning, to motivate, or to otherwise appear is if they are not there doing THEIR workout and you are just lucky enough to get to follow along. Also, if they do help, it's way too much chit chat holding everyone up, talk after or offer personal assistance after class, so the whole class can benefit from continuous exercise.Womens locker room:Needs thorougly cleaned, scoured one a month, it seems like it's never been really scrubbed down. Bench legs have rust. Are the shower curtains ever washed in hot water and bleach? How often is it disinfected? It's germ-fest in there.Equipment:Way too many ellipticals, get more bikes and treadmills. When the place is packed still 5-6 ellipticals remain unused because there are like 30 of them and not everyone wants to use them.

17 laps equals 1 mile... That keeps rolling around in my head. It's so cold outside to me that I love the indoor stroll. Grove City went one further they have the Walk with a Doc program.1 and 3rd Saturday of every month at 830am through March. Then they go back outside. I also love the whirl pool, and Sauna. There is no Steam Room at this location. Also indoor Swimming pool is nice too.

I love this place! Awesome staff, clean facility, very friendly. I love all of the classes they offer. I take advantage of the Zumba classes. They are so much fun and you forget you're actually exercising. The instructors are amazing and energetic! I highly recommend this place

I came here a lot between 2006-2008 and I've been back a few times since. Having been a longtime member at the Suburban West (Valleyview) branch, coming here was a huge upgrade. I'd never seen a facility this clean (except for the Powell branch) or nice. The gym area is small, but it has several fitness machines in addition to a warm-up area where you can stretch and limber up before and after your workout, bikes, treadmills, and elipticals for cardio, and there's a small walking track around the gym - NO JOGGING/RUNNING. Staff asks that you spray down the fitness machines after you use them as a courtesy to the people who might use them next. Just to be safe, I'd spray them down with the disinfectant before you use them just to be safe.I'd never seen an indoor pool as big as the one at this location til I started coming here. They have an outdoor pool, too, which is open in the summer. Both look fantastic and are kept very clean.Huge step up from the Suburban West location. Very nice facility.

Being a member of this Y has added a lot to my quality of life. The classes are great, especially swimming for kids. You can buy a private lesson for $20/40 minutes. The gym area is small but packed full of many ellipticals, treadmills, weight machines, and free weights. It is a newer facility with about 12 TVs to watch in the Fit area. The Childwatch is open twice a day most days for great free babysitting.

I really like this extremely busy YMCA. They have quite a few treadmills and other cardio machines. I think the step machines are relatively new. The locker rooms are also pretty clean. The staff have all been pretty helpful too.Now here come my beefs. The parking is limited during the peak evening use. Even after the snow melts there probably won't be enough parking around 6. I like to work out after work, which apparently is not a rarity. The other issues during the peak usage time is there aren't enough towels. It seems to me that extra towels would be sure to be available when more people are there. The other problem is accessing the wifi. It is nearly impossible during peak usage. Maybe there is a way to increase capacity during heavy use so people can listen to their music.

Great place to take kids!! Really nice place for all children. Accessible for children with disabilities. Has nice music area with tall xylophones and drums. I took lots of pictures of all the different play areas. Also there are several old houses to view with old school house.

For a gym that's suppose to be family friendly they sure do make EVERYTHING a prpblem if you have children. Amy is the most unwelcoming person I have ever had to come in to contact with. After spending $1000 for a family membership to make sure my kids and I stayed active through the world we are living in I somehow wish I would have done more research. We reserve time every day and yet she somehow still has an issue with my children. Not a great vibe unfortunately I already paid for the year so I will keep coming and following all the rules they decide to keep adding but I wouldn't recommend any of my friends with families to come.
