Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

I haven't eaten there since I saw them thawing meat outside in the sun. Heard people found maggots in their food. I hope they have improved their methods. I am sure Department of Health is keeping a close eye on them. Before you eat check Dept of Health for citations.

This is a great local Chinese spot. The portions are big and the food seems fresh. The crab Rangoon is not very great, I'm pretty sure it only has cream cheese in it... it's bright white and no crab taste. It was good though, but no crab flavor at all. We had vegetable lo mein (super good!!), egg rolls, general tso's chicken (not the best I've ever had, but it was very good!), and sweet and sour chicken (crunchy and not too greasy). We will for sure be back.

My wife and I did not wished to cook tonight, so we asked each other what we hungered for and decided on Chinese. Well, finding a good restaurant in NE Ohio is somewhat challenging, and even more so during a pandemic!We used to visit a Chinese takeout in Seville, but it closed. Then I discovered Great Wall in Lodi while doing a quick Google search. It is located just off the central park and next to a CVS pharmacy.The front door was open, and I walked it to discover the entire front counter covered in a plastic painter's sheet with two cardboard covered openings: one for incoming payment, and the other for outgoing food. It was just different not to see a hard plexiglass barrier like most other F2F businesses have.I ordered Cashew Chicken dinner & an egg roll for my wife, while I asked for Chicken in Garlic Sauce dinner. Certain vegetables and rice were omitted, and I was on my way within 15 minutes. There was some traffic, mostly for pick up orders.I got home and prepared dinner and we dove in. I can't recall the last time I ate Chinese food, and what we ordered was hot, perfect and delicious. We usually don'y buy Chinese (which is why we had a dry spell) because it is usually filled with extra vegetables used as a filler for a meager portion of protein, while also containing enough oil to lube a car. But in this case, we were fortunate enough to get great tasting dishes with wonderful sauces, and a minimum of oil.If you have a hankering for good American-Chinese food, in a small town in Medina County, Ohio and find yourself passing through, make sure you stop and get some tasty food. We definitely will be back.

What I would expect for American Chinese food:- fair price- nice staff- good portion for price- average quality for this type foodOnly negative is they make you purchase at least $10 of food or you have to pay with cash

New to the area. Great food, fair prices. Loved the chicken lo mein! Definitely will get takeout from here again.

Decent Asian cuisine is tough to come by in this area, particularly so during COVID times. Great Wall is the best carry out that I've found and I've been looking. Plus, they operate safely with virtually contact free transactions. It's not a 5 star place but it has more hits than misses. Worthy of support.

I'm impressed!! Very tasty I got the beef with garlic sauce and my hubby got general Tao chicken. Yum yum

Well I don't know what happened to this place but it sure went downhill Was not happy the last two times of going there egg rolls over cooked hot sour soup was very bland to almost to the point of what is this other things were just ok It used to be a pretty good place for Chineese food

Nice little place on the commons in Lodi, clean, mostly carry out with a couple tables. Large menu, ordered the Chicken in black bean sauce, asked for spicy hot. Very friendly service, a couple questions about the dish had to be translated for the chefs. Ample portions, really good taste, exactly what I wanted. Many Chinese restaurants do not offer the black bean sauce. Get to watch the chefs. Very friendly Chinese waitress/hostess. I would drive into Lodi from the freeway, passing a lot of other places near the exit, to sample their food again.

The original owners really did it right. Great food. Then they sold to the current ones and it completely tanked. A real shame.
