Golden Place the Chinese Restaurant

My family and I took a chance on this place because our go-to Chinese takeout restaurant is closed for renovations. Overall, this place was very "meh." Nothing was bad per se, but nothing was great either. The General Tso's chicken tasted fine but the chicken was very tough and there were literally only two pieces of broccoli in it. The dish was advertised as spicy but it was not. At all. The "spicy ginger chicken" is a bit of a misnomer as it didn't taste like ginger and, again, it was not spicy in the least. However, there was a nice amount of vegetables in this dish. It was fresh-tasting and pleasant but it's what I would consider to be a decent moo goo gai pan, not spicy ginger chicken. If you're looking for spiciness or ginger, look elsewhere. The beef sticks were tasty but the wooden sticks themselves shredded, splintered, and broke apart into the meat and made them very difficult to eat without getting a mouth full of wood. The egg roll was cooked well but the filling was so bland I ended up throwing it away after two bites. And this is one of those restaurants that have sweet crabmeat cheese rangoons. Why do they do that? They're like little deep fried crab-flavored cheesecakes- yuck. Everything tasted fresh and the presentation was fine (apart from the lack of broccoli in the General Tso's). While there was nothing that was outright wrong with the food, we will not be eating here again. If you like sugared seafood and you find ketchup to be too spicy, you might enjoy this place a bit more than we did.

Great place to get your Chinese. Good food and friendly service. I have been coming here for five or six years and never have had a bad meal

Worst Chinese I've ever eaten. I got Orange Flavored Chicken and the name itself should have given away that it was going to be nasty. I also got the shrimp fried rice where the shrimp was undercooked and rubbery. Definitely stay away from that dish.

Golden Place is always reliable. Good food, good price, nice staff, dependable. And you can now choose brown rice for an extra $1!

This is my favorite Chinese food by far. The staff is very friendly and overly accommodating. My food is always fresh and hot and it's wonderful I suggest it to anybody

Good food, good prices. But now they have a young child answering the phone & taking orders? Not good.

I ordered the honey chicken and not only did I realize halfway through eating it that it was raw and it gave me food poisoning, when I called to figure it out they were nothing but absolutely rude to me and they did NOTHING to help.

Their sesame chicken is good, but don't expect soy sauce, duck sauce, utensils ,or napkins....That they ASK if you WANT! We'll just eat with our fingers and wash our hands after. Their lobster with shrimp combo is just some slimy soup with 3 pieces of shrimp and their 8 crab rangoons are like 8 pieces of fried dough with a little dab of cream cheese.

I ordered bourbon chicken take out friday january 3rd and it was like eating shoe leather haven't been here in a while thought I would give it a second chance since the reviews seemed to be good what a mistake. it was like eating chicken jerky if that is a thing won't be going back anytime soon.

The food was really good and the portions are Huge! Lady behind the counter was very friendly. We will return! Our new favorite Chinese Take out
