I have mixed feelings about this gym. I had a good coach and I think the coaches are for the most part well-intentioned. I enjoyed the classes, but the building where the classes are held is dirty and falling apart. I thought twice about each burpee as the floor needed a good vacuum and scrub. The ceiling was leaking and rather than getting it fixed week after week, the leak made the gym stink like vomit. Aside from those complaints, I enjoyed the classes and the times offered were pretty convenient. The main gym's bathrooms leave plenty to be desired. I felt like I was in a CARPETED prison with the weird bathrooms that only have hot water in some sinks. The water fountain was broken for over a week. Luckily they had bottles for people as a back up. And now to the issue that brought me reconsider my review:The owner Sharon is always after a sale. I felt this from the moment I walked in until the time I left. In fact, it is the reason I left. I have uploaded a picture as an example. There's always a new special, new coach going "on sale", new thing to add onto your membership, bring a friend, special classes (all the free passes expired in a week so good luck coordinating with a buddy). I completed a 6-week challenge and then canceled my membership as I was feeling confident about moving on to another gym that would not have the same "high pressure sales". No one reached out to ask why or see if I had a bad experience, etc. Not even a confirmation email saying that I would not be charged further membership fees. Out of the blue today, 6 months after completing the challenge and canceling my membership, Sharon emails trying to sell my wife and I both a 6 week challenge for the new year. Not one period in the email, all exclamation points and a couple of typos - as always ending her emails with "Here to help!" I don't feel helped by Sharon. I feel like a dollar sign.

Favorite gym I have tried! I've been a member at GoFitness in Grandview for a few months now and never felt more comfortable at gym before. The staff learned my name within the first few days of me working out there and have made me feel very welcome. They often will ask what my plan for the gym is that day or how work was. The gym is never crowded which is great! I have never had to wait for a machine or weights that I want to use. This makes it easy to get in and get out in as little as time as you need to. My favorite part about GoFitness is the classes that they offer. The classes are all challenging and run by an experienced coach who is there to help you out throughout the whole workout. Because of the diverse classes, I have been able to try out new exercises and methods of exercise I had not in my past, like spinning, boxing, and yoga!I haven't been living in Columbus for very long but this gym has helped me feel like this is a part of my home!

You can't miss the bright green paint job at the entrance of Go Fitness. Just like advertising, anything to get your attention works!I've been to quite a few gyms. The hotel 'workout center'-complete with a sometimes-working treadmill, a TV with 2 channels, a fan, and a few mismatch dumbbells. The Urban Actives of the world-a multi-level, multi-room, florescent lighting, techno beat, skin everywhere, fitness universe. Go is neither. Go is a small neighborhood gym "where everyone knows your name."In it's own building, they are located in Grandview and close to OSU campus. You will always be greeted by smiling, happy people (sing the song) who are ever so pleased to help make your day the best yet. After an initial consultation where they explain the Functional Training method which combines total body, agility, flexibility, and core training to get results in Fat Loss, Endurance Training, and Strength Training. The coach will then move into explaining how they integrate and provide six components of fitness: Cardiovascular Training, Resistance Training, Recovery and Flexibility, Supplementation, Nutrition/Food Intake (Diet), Personal Guidance and Accountability. All of this attention to detail and outline format takes me back to the days of college athletics. This would be a good place for an athlete in training to check out.A quick tour of the facility shows the main room impressively filled with weights, stability balls, floor slides, bands, a mini track, medicine balls (up to 200lbs!), and FreeMotion equipment. The class room is in the back, the cardio room off to the right and the massage rooms behind that. Talk about full-service!I went through a workout with Charlie, one of the Master Coaches, and my lats are still feeling the attention. So it's only been two days, but I thought I was in prime lifting condition. It goes to show that everyone, at every level can be challenged. Bottom line, a gym is like a pair of jeans. You have to try it on, move around a little and then make your decision.

Won't allow cancellation of a yearly contract unless you move 25 miles away. For perspective, if you live near their location in Grandview, you'd have to move to Delaware or Marysville in order to cancel. Westerville? Nope. Still have to keep your membership. Dublin? Nope. London? Nope. They trap you in annual agreements, don't recommend. Terrible customer service and predatory contracts.

Stopped by today and to say the place is run-down would be an understatement. Very old equipment, very old building, and very old staff. Not a very serious gym

I was really disappointed with the lack of support from the staff from a customer standpoint. I was told I could pay a monthly fee and cancel at any time - then they came back and said their prices changed and they accidentally showed me the wrong price sheet. I was mislead about the monthly fee and about the required one year term. I was ready to sign up until they had no remorse for their mistake and were not willing to work with me on coming to an agreement that worked for us both. They clearly care about making money first and foremost. The locker room area is nice but the actual bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. I would not recommend this gym.

As a college student, it's tough to pay for any form of personal training. However, my body needed to change and I decided to put my money toward this gym. At home in New York, I go to a personal training institute that is much cleaner, more effective, and serious in general. I signed up with Go Fitness with blank expectations and initially didn't judge their outdated equipment or uncleanliness. However, as a college student, funds can be tight. During my first month with the gym, I was planning on canceling my membership, but waited until the last personal training session of the month to notify them. When I told them I was canceling for financial reasons and because the gym just was not for me, they charged me $200+ dollars. I tried to reason with them but they wouldn't hear any of it. This caused me a lot of stress because I could not pay my last payment for my college tuition.Go Fitness says they are trying to enhance people's lives but it is evident that they truly don't care about the members and they especially don't care about the members struggles if it doesn't benefit the gym financially. Signing up with this gym is one of my biggest regrets to this day because I allowed myself to be completely man-handled by them. I hope this post helps other people out, because I wish someone had told me about the gym's corruption and callousness prior to signing up.

This gym is the best, absolutely best gym I've ever been a part of.1. It's not Urban Active and isn't filled with pretentious d-bags who spent an hour getting ready to go workout. This gym isn't filled with girls in spandex who did their makeup before hitting the gym. This is real people, doing real work. 2. A monthly personal-training consultation is part of your membership fee. Each month, you can work with a trainer in a wide variety of ways. 3. It's low traffic. Unless you go between 4:30pm & 6p, you're not going to be running into people. It's doesn't feel crowded. 4. Great service. Their staff is always smiling and quick to give some help. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend GO Fitness!

I hate the gym.It isn't their fault. I just hate working out and being at gyms in general. But, since finding Go Fitness I can at least say that I DO now go to a gym. Memberships run around $40 a month (they have a few options). With a basic membership you get access to tier 1 & 2 classes for free -- think yoga, conditioning aerobics, things like that. You can pay for passes to the tougher classes like spinning. Plus, with each membership you get a free 30 minute session once a month with a trainer to do whatever you'd like. You can have a workout, figure out a nutritional plan with them, get a body measurement & analysis, learn how to properly use foam rollers for stretching, etc. They also offer specials, education sessions and fun activities throughout the month so you can always switch things up and keep it interesting. I started out with a basic membership and still had a tough time motivating myself to go even though the small, casual atmosphere is much less intimidating than one of those big-box gyms. So, I bit the bullet and opted for a Personal Trainer. This definitely multiplies my monthly cost, but it has been well worth it. My trainer is able to keep me accountable and it's perfect for me because I can just mentally black out while I'm there and do whatever he tells me to do. The gym itself is relatively small, with a cardio room (15 machines maybe?), weight/strength training room and a back room that is used for classes but can also be used during off times. But, even on busier days, every time I've been there I've been able to use exactly what I wanted. They even have a little smoothie station at the front desk (I have yet to try).Nothing is shiny or new anymore and admittedly it could use a bit of a deep clean. But, for the first time in my adult life I have found a gym (and a trainer) that keeps me coming back. And that is quite a feat. P.S. If you're interested in joining, go visit before purchasing the Yelp deal. When I joined, their sign-up benefits were better than the Yelp offer and I wasn't able to use both. Luckily Yelp refunded me!

I had a membership with Go Fitness in 2011 and left solely because I didn't have to pay for a gym membership at my employer's fitness facility. Fast forward to today- I've got a new job, and five months of not working out under my belt (along with five extra pounds) and I decided it's time to search for a new gym. My new employer offers a discount membership at a big box gym that happened to have bought out another big box gym recently (ahem) but the reality is I won't enjoy working out there, or probably even go for that matter.I looked into other fitness facilities, and have shopped around for almost a month, but in the end I find myself back where I started. Go Fitness was super convenient when I lived in Grandview, but I'm happy to make the drive down from Dublin to get a decent work out in.My favorite thing about Go Fitness? More than one free standing squat rack. I don't know what it is about big box gyms but it's next to impossible to find a gym with more than one squat/power rack.
