Frankfort Dairy Cone

Hard to say anything negative about the local ice cream shop when it's open almost all the time during the summer & has an extensive selection of hot food & desserts at reasonable prices.My nephew & niece live about 1/4 miles down the street & while I was in town visiting we took several bike rides to grab something from the Dairy Cone walk up window. $5.00 for a large milkshake wis a deal in any weather but even more so during the hot summer months.Haven't even went inside as I have not needed to. Service at the walk up is simple & efficient.

I have been coming here off and on for 30+ years. They always have great dairy desserts and also hit food items! This newest iteration and ownership seems to be particularly good at delivering awesome food at great prices. If you are in the area, stop in and get yourself a milkshake or something good! You won't regret it!

Best ice cream in the area. So good for being in the middle of nowhere. There isn't much else going on in Frankfort. Most of the action is happening here. They also stay open all year. This place is about 15 miles outside of Chillicothe. It was better than was expected. Many small ice cream places like this have unremarkable food and treats. Here, they have a really big menu. The slushies come in several flavors that aren't common at ice cream shops, like the banana and mint. The ice cream comes in many flavors. I had the mint slushie. This is about $1.75 for the medium size. It also sells fried and greasy food. This is mostly the usual stuff you get at this kind of place. As mentioned, there's an indoor seating area. It also has a patio. This place stays open even in winter.

This is a great summer place to get what we all need to cool down on a hot summer day. Thay have hand diped ice cream shakes all at a resonable price. I recommend you to try this place fraindly environment for you and the kids

This is hometown greatness! For a small community dairy cone restaurant their menu is huge!!! The best fried mushrooms, fish sandwich ever! Huge!!! Let's talk about the cookie dough hurricanes

Great stop when doing the bike trails. Outdoor seating even allows you to keep an eye on your bikes while you eat. We had the bacon cheeseburger and it was delicous.

I stopped in as a passer by, 2/7/2024. Wanted a burger. Etremely nice staff greeted me and recommended the warrior burger. A half pound, just what i needed, build your own burger, plus fries. I then threw on a butterscotch milkshake. Number 1, the milkshake was absolutely perfect. Thick enough, to get, just enough, from the straw. Teased me, so i just took the lid off and dump it in my face. The burger and fries came out fast! They've got the good fries Yall!!! The crispy ones. Not burnt, and not some rubbery potato. The Good Fries Yall The burger. Exactly what i needed. On my way out she said, "I hope you like it". No No No, I Loved It. What a pleasure. Til next time

I could be persuaded between 4 or 5 stars based on future visits, but since it's the first place in Ohio that I've found where you can order corn nuggets, I'm going to round up to 5.I discovered the Dairy Cone the same way Polly did, by the bike trail. It's just north of the trail, and is pretty much the only way to go if you need food between Washington Court House and Chillicothe - the only other places I found were pizza joints, which are fine but not usually what I want while being active.The menu is indeed pretty extensive. There are a lot of options on the ice cream side, with Blizzard-style shakes being prominent on the menu, but you can just get ice cream, or soft serve, or a banana split. On the food side, there's burgers, there's hot dogs and coneys, there's fish sandwiches, there are enough sides that there's a choose-five-sides sampler option.I went with the corn nuggets and a coney. The coney reminded me of what they had at Cooper Stadium in the '90s, back when they made the chili there before they started ordering it from a factory. I should've gone with the footlong. The corn nuggets were so freshly fried that I had to eat the coney first so I didn't burn myself. Were they as good as the ones I had in the South? Probably not, but it was a lot closer than Culver's sad attempts to match Wisconsin-quality cheese curds.It did take a while to get the food, but I'd rather than than have the corn nuggets sitting out all afternoon, and part of the wait was because they were doing a pretty decent business around 5:00 on a Sunday.

I never leave reviews, but that tells you how bad this experience was that it prompted me to say something. Horrible service, poor quality food, extremely long wait times for the type of food they serve.

I love this place! They've got amazingly reasonable prices and everything I've tried there is delicious! I go here almost every summer when I visit Frankfort! They've got the best fried mushrooms & delicious ice cream!
