Flamingo Jack's

I'm not sure what happened to the taste buds of all the people that gave this place five stars. It's a hole in the wall dive bar, they have a very interesting and unique menu that held a lot of potential, but fell short. I tried the candied bacon and shrimp Asian inspired nachos. Awesome presentation, awesome idea, but fell short on flavor and shrimp. Beer was cold, it would be a good place to hang out and have a drink. And the menu would definitely cater to people that I've had several drinks.

What a bummer. If it wasn't for my 5 star review and amazing service over a year ago, this last visit would have been a 1 or 2. They were out of like allllllllll their draft beers, i think PBR and a sour were our options, lol. More annoying she just let us keep ordering more beers as she was like no.. don't have that anymore either (why did she just tell us this ti start). We waited 5 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink... and 20 minutes to get the drink (beers.... Just beers). (I know your thinking why did we even wait that long, but we were all talking and it wasn't until about 15/18 minutes in we all started realizing how long it had been). The food has gone downhill. There was no crab pieces in the soup (they are definitely stretching it to make the most money. The burger was just meh... no one else was thrilled with their meals. The portions are small and the bill was high. We had been talking this place up to everyone. I was so excited to take more people here. It is definitely more of a hole in the wall dive bar (with subpar food now).

Great place. Cheap beer. Was staying at the St. Paul Hotel when I wondered down the street to find myself at a wonderfully bazaar drinking establishment. Brought a lady friend here to work on our screen play (Carlotta - the hooker with a heart of gold).Things were going well until some drunk dude and his crew started eavesdropping on our conversation. I think he wanted a little of Carlotta and a lot of my screen play. Also, we were getting strange looks from a table of older ladies, and the water closet was a nightmare with no locks. As the night went on, the dudes got jumpier and the chicks got rapey, so we bailed. But great time overall!

The food served here was a pleasant surprise. Upon walking in, the place seems more college bar with kitschy Caribbean vibe. A little dust, a small spider web here or there...But then there's the super tasty food! Yum! We love comfort seafood, which they serve up in spades. Looking forward to returning, so I can try other menu items.

This place constantly serves up the best food. The atmosphere feels like a beach bar in Florida but the food feels like a 5 star restaurant. We go here often and the food and price are fantastic. We will keep coming back for sure!

When we walked in I almost walked right out, but I'm glad in the end I stayed. There's a funky old bar/cigarette smell lingering in the air, but once we sat and I looked around I was kind of into the beachy/tropic vibes that the place gives off.Service was very attentive, however it's May 2021, and none of them were wearing masks. If this is something that you are rightfully concerned about, I definitely would not attend until after the mask mandate is over!They had a wide variety of different domestic beers, and they made a variety of frozen drinks. I had a strawberry daiquiri, and it was really good!Both my husband and I had a burger. The burgers were huge! I really enjoyed my locals burger, my husband had the Mac and pulled pork burger, but he didn't enjoy it as much. We both got sides of shoestring french fries, but I wish I had gotten one of the other specialty french fries to compare. My husband was frustrated because the burgers were so big and messy, but no one brought us any silverware or napkins! Beyond that, the service was attentive.Overall, it's a unique little spot in Wooster. I'd be interested in going back, but not sure my husband would be. Lots of people inside seemed to know one another & the atmosphere is definitely unique.

Not sure why Flamingo Jack's isn't 5 star! This is my new favorite restaurant/bar in all of Ohio! We ordered 6 different menu items and nothing disappointed! Absolutely outstanding food! We just happened to be in Wooster to buy some furniture and our salesperson said we should try this place while in town. We live an hour away but will be returning often.Place was super clean, the staff and owner were amazing and offered great service. Great job Gary (owner).

I have eaten here hundreds of times and it has never disappointed us. Their truffle fries are fantastic. My favorite dish is the Boursin Philly cheesesteak salad.

Fun and unique place. Enjoyed the food that was fresh and the service was great. Glad it is there.
