I wish I could begin to tell you how good FDR is. But you just have to experience it. From drinks without the kids to family night to birthday dinners... it has it all. The owners and servers will make you feel like absolute family!!!! Recently they underwent renovations and I stepped out to another local Mexican restaurant and it was so awful! Never again.

Did not get my whole dinner! Asked twice party of five. Two of us did not get our whole dinner. Not even sorry. If you are charging 40 dollars a person all I want is what the menu says nothing? Waiter acted like he didn't care. Even told other staff with not a care given.

This little restaurant is a great option for you if you like Mexican food, they have from authentic to Tex Mex meals, and all are good. They have a lunch menu that is affordable and happy hour 12pm to 6pm. I'm planning to take advantage of this deal and have a few drinks someday. The service is good, friendly bartender and servers, the ambience is pretty chilled and cozy. Amazing spot here in Johnstown.

After reading the reviews I was not sure what to expect. I bought it as take out since the reviews for in restaurant dinning was not great. The chicken had good flavor and was not dried out like a lot of places. The beans were over cooked. Other than that I would eat it again.

Consistent fast service and good food. Nothing stands out as spectacular, but everything we have had has been good. It is your typical small town Mexican restaurant. Lots of parking in the parking area and an outside seating area when it is nice out.

This is a really good Mexican restaurant...The food was really good. The decor is cool. The environment was enjoyable. My only criticism was that the wait staff was not really friendly but not in a rude way but more of an awkward way. It's really a good place for dinner.

Hubby and I decided to go out and find a new place to eat. Picked Johnstown and we decided on Mexican food. Looks small on the outside look but once it opens up. Way more seating than I thought there would be.Once inside we were seated right away. Greeted with chips and salsa. I ordered a Sangria and Hubby a tea. He ordered Enchiladas Rancheros and I the Tacos EL Pastor.Food came out quick and hot. The portion size blew me away. My pic tells it all. My tacos were overly filled with meat and I'm not complaining one bit. My husband said the mole sauce was excellent. We really enjoyed our dinner and we will be back to try something new next time. The staff was very friendly and took great care of us. Thank you . Be back soon.

Reminds me of any hometown Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy- but downright delicious . I always order the quesadillas Mexicanas, and the chicken and beef tips are super flavorful. Service is quick and easy and you won't be disappointed. Price is right, and kids meals are great too.

As a food blogger and critic, I found that the best way to assess a restaurant is to dine with others. Being served as a single diner is not the equivalent of being served with a group because it's too easy. I don't normally like to use the term "critic" because my goal is to promote great restaurants with awesome food and service, especially as many are still recovering in a post-pandemic market. My evaluation of Fiesta Del Rio reviews friendliness, attentiveness, cleanliness, quality of food, accuracy of order, accuracy of the bill. On a scale of 1-10 with ten being the best, here is a recap of my experience:FRIENDLINESS = 1. Our server never smiled and seemed to lack any glimmer of hope for having a personality.ATTENTIVENESS = 2. Our server did not bring enough silverware to the table for the members of our party. We had to ask for it. No plates were provided for the chips and salsa. Because the salsa is thin and watery, we needed plates for drip control. We also had to ask for napkins because those weren't provided either. Our server was difficult to track down when we needed drinks. I received my first beverage before my meal was served. I ordered a second drink to go with my meal but she never delivered it (definitely tried to charge me for it though). I ate my meal with absolutely nothing to drink and she was no where to be found. CLEANLINESS = ? The restaurant seemed clean, but at least one member of my party became ill after consuming their meal, so this is questionable.QUALITY OF FOOD = 2. I used to live in the western part of the United States near Mexico and New Mexico so I've enjoyed really great authentic Mexican cuisine where the food was full of wonderful flavor and cooked to perfection. The food at Fiesta Del Rio was bland and the sauces were watery. I ordered a fried food item. Instead of being fried, it was wrapped in some sort of rubbery egg/omelette. The cheese was not the same melty goodness consistency I've experienced at any other Mexican restaurant. I was hoping for a little heat, a lot of flavor, and great texture. My expectations were not met.ACCURACY OF ORDER = 3. Our server failed to deliver some of the food items we ordered and we had to ask her to correct the order. (And then she charged us for more than what we ordered.)ACCURACY OF THE BILL = 1. Our server mis-matched my order with the other party at my table. We were charged for more than what we ordered and she argued with us when we asked her to correct it. Her approach was insulting. I know what I ordered, how much we ordered, and what each member of my party ate. She never held herself accountable nor did she apologize for the mishaps. My Final Note: With an onslaught of people moving into the area as large businesses continue to be erected, competition will increase and customer expectations will be high. Fiesta Del Rio will no longer be the lonely little Mexican restaurant in a small town. Residents will have options, and this will not be one of them. Del Rio needs to be prepared to deliver better quality and service to survive in a fast-growing community with many new and exciting restaurants on the horizon.
