Family Donut Shop

We go to Family Donut Shop every time we're in town visiting relatives in Londonderry. They have these amazing doughnuts they call eclairs, (we call them long johns where we come from). They are topped with either a chocolate frosting or a vanilla frosting and are filled with another vanilla cream. Awesome!!!Those are my favorites. Everybody in the family has there favorites. You can't go wrong by stopping in if you're passing by. They make the days doughnuts early in the morning so the earlier you get there the better the selection. They do sell out of items throughout the day. Again, a great place that my family has made a lot of great memories while eating the Family Donut Shops doughnuts.

My trip just kept on getting better and better!Last stop was the family donut shop about 10 minutes from Chillicothe, off the highway in the middle of nowhere!Over 100 years old, with a tiny drive up window, really just small run down shack, but the best donuts I have ever eaten!This is one of those rare times I wish I could give out more than 5 stars!They are open 24 hours, and have my beloved fried danishes, that I usually have to drive to Cincinatti or Kentucky for!That noted I got a cherry filled one and that was my favorite of the bunch!Fried, glazed, puff pasty.....mmmmhhhhhhhThe apple fritter and cinnamon roll, also huge fried cunks of goodness, bursting with flavor!Custard and fruit fillings, YUM YUM YUM!Now to the real suprise of the day, usually my husband and I avoid cake donuts, as they are dry, crumbly and boring, but NEEDING to buy a dozen here I got a blueberry, chocolate and crumb cake donut and I have never had anything like it!Even my husband who likes to avoid sweets (more for me) said this is the only cake donut worth eating and now there is finally reason for them to exist!I can't put in words how good they were, so fresh, soft, no dryness or crumbs, no need for coffee or hot chocolate with them, truely worth the hour long drive from Columbus anyday!I LOVE FAMILY DONUT!!!!

This is a wonderful place! One of my bridesmaids brought yummy donuts to my wedding and it was these and it was very very yummy. They are probably some of my favorite donuts ever

This is my second review for this place but I love it! If you are getting donuts go in so you can see your options! I was in heaven :) I got a half dozen regular and half dozen special for $10! The lady was so helpful and friendly also. I will be going back for sure.. She suggested the blueberry donut and I give it two thumbs up! The chocolate ones are amazing as well!! And the glazed ... Those were my favorites.. But all are so good.. I'm a very happy customer that lives 1 1/2 hours away but I will be back! I highly recommend it.

Wow.passing through this morning and so glad we stopped. Nice local folks. Got the Apple fritter and boy I'm not disappointed. Not grease like most. Yummmm

This place was literally the best. Their crumb donuts and buttermilk donuts were everything. We drove all the way out there from Columbus only to find that there was a new owner and the donuts were less than average. We were crushed. The family donut shop was a hidden treasure. I'm so sad it's gone.

Great little family owned shop!!! The donuts were fresh, coffee was hot and the owner was very attentive!! Highly recommend!!!

This hidden gem is worth the drive! Great donuts, polite and attentive staff, and even a decent selection of food and Ice cream treats. We found this place by accident on a recent trip west, and will most assuredly be returning again and again. 5 stars!
