Probably the best burger in West Virginia. I always get the name wrong and say "Fairmont Yacht Club" which would be a lot further away!! Anyway, they have amazing food here and really unique vibe. Outside you'll find a ton of locals who ride in on their side by sides. Right next door is an authentic Appalachian Moonshine Distillery so you can hit up two great places at once. They do a burger of the month here which is what I get almost every time and boy does it smack! One time they had a burger with a crab cake on top...amazing. Another time it had melted cheese and Frito's...also amazing. Even their regular plain Jane burgers are amazing. I would pair the burger of the month with one of the drinks of the month. Once they had this Apple Butter Old Fashioned and I've never had anything quite like it before or since...it was outstanding and even better that it used locally made apple butter. The fried pickle chips are my favorite appetizer. Wings are also a favorite. Fries or onion rings are both great options as sides for your burgers. I really haven't explored much else on the menu past the burgers since I can't get over how fantastic they are. I love all of the boat themed decor inside. The place is absolutely massive and I've never had to wait for a table. I have eaten at both a table and the bar, great service at either. The parking lot is gravel and on a hill. It might be hard to traverse in the winter with a lot of snow and in the summer if you arrive on a motorcycle just be aware that a lot of the gravel is loose on the hill so it might be a little squirrely getting down to the parking lot. I do plan on starting a Best of WV list and this will definitely make the cut.

The yacht club is always a favorite from our house! We love the environment and laid back vibe. Tonight we got to try out the new menu! 10/10 on the added items! Husband and son got their usuals, but I tried the new smoked Gouda flatbread and it was delicious! Flatbread with Grilled chicken, Gouda, crispy bacon and topped with a sriracha honey! Yum! Service was a little slower than normal for a Thursday and could've stood for some waters while we waited on our beers but nonetheless we will always go back! Love that place!

I was visiting friends who live in WV (I'm from SE Pennsylvania - an area with lots of fancy restaurants and craft breweries) and told me about this place numerous times. I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised when we stopped to eat one Saturday around 4pm. The wings were phenominal, as was the French Dip I got. I heard the chips with beer cheese is excellent. I'll ensure I get that next time I visit ole West Virginia! I was impressed with their craft beer on draft and tried a black IPA by a WV brewery that I can't recall. It was good enough that I needed a second pint of it drawn. I'd honestly say that this place rivals any of the best locations in my area. In fact, I'd say it was better than most craft brewery/locations in my area. WV is lucky to have such an awesome place for food and entertainment. I'm writing this review a few months late, but wanted to note that our waitress was awesome, helpful, friendly, and patient. She was an Ohio transplant (I can't recall her name but hope to see her again). I can't wait to hit this place again and maybe hang out for some late-night fun on Saturday night! P.S. my buddy who's a ribs fanatic ensured we stayed long enough to put in an order for half a rack. I gave those a try and they were awesome!

Great draft selection! Smoked wings are fantastic. Very unassuming from the outside, but good service, food and beverage.

I had smoke wings and they're spicy Asian sauce. Very tasty. Also tried their smash burger. Excellent.Service was fast and friendly The insides are in large, and they actually had boats inside, and it was a very clean and easy to get around in. I would definitely recommend eating there.

Once again, Fairplain yacht club has exceeded my expectations, on hospitality, service, cleanliness, and food selection, and most definitely Waitresses (servers). Roadhouse, he was so elated that he indeed stated: I don't care who you are where you're even from, you gotta know that, Fairplane yacht club is the finest restaurant in Jackson County, as well as many other surrounding counties. I don't know how they do it, but they just keep on getting better and better all the time. The service is always outstanding, and that's because Roadhouse always selects McKenzie for his waitress!! Yes, she is the cats meow, we just hope and pray she never leaves!! On this particular trip, Dining In , it was Friday night, and I got to experience the prime rib, which I got a report to you. It was the best, it can also be labeled as the cats meow. just for shits and giggles, in case you didn't know it, whenever you are the cats meow, it doesn't get any better than that, your are#1, locked in and locked down in that slot, and you may hold that position for as long as you want! In closing, if you're ever in the Ripley, area of Jackson County, please check out the yacht club, you will not be disappointed!! For, I know the plans that I have for you, declared our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, plans to prosper you, and plans to never harm you, and give you hope in a future!!!! This sums it up for Fairplain yacht club, peace out, and always remain classy, from Roadhouse, James Sayre, formally of Cottageville, West Virginia

We went with a party of 6 on a Friday evening. Waited about 20-25 minutes for a table. The draft beer was warm due to a mechanical issue so switched to bottles. Everyone tried something different from the menu and we were all satisfied with our meals. Will definitely return and try more items on the menu!

Amazing food. I travel all over West Virginia and I can honestly say this is my favorite restaurant anywhere in the state. The smoked wings are wonderful and the French Dip sandwich is by far my favorite sandwich. Highly recommend. Oh, and the service is great too!
