I have lived here for 7 years. Lots of space for the price. Conveniently located off Main Street, close to 270 and 70. Maintenance is very attentive. Staff is very professional - which is important to me. I have enjoyed my time here.

Apartments are pretty nice.Maintenance is good and responds same day which is really nice. The property manager, Megan, is pretty nice and got me approved within about an hour. Its a quite neighborhood, set back off Main St a little. Would like to have assigned parking but it's first come first serve and some people park right in the middle of the parking lot or right in front of the steps leading down to the downstairs apartments.

This is the worst apartment complex I have ever considered living in. They will show you a nice apartment when your looking to move there and the actual one you live in is a completely different story. I arrived with my boyfriend to move him in on his move in date and the apartment was a complete disaster. The apartment they expected him to live in was not livable in any way. The ceiling was falling down and you could see mold and rot inside. The toilet was completely rotting and falling apart. There was a gooey substance all over the cabinets. The dishwasher wasn't bolted down whatsoever. The faucet in the kitchen was broken so you could even get water. Also, the fire alarms were all hanging from the cords and weren't even attached or installed. Disturbingly there were much more appalling issues with the apartment. After we saw the apartment's condition we immediately returned the keys and told them they needed to find him another apartment in the complex that he could move into or we would have to find another apartment elsewhere. They would not accommodate us at all and refused to work with us in anyway. On top of all of the inconvenience they proceeded to charge my boy friend for the 1st months rent and an extra $1,000 fine for breaking the lease. Although, he never moved into the apartment at all in the first place. When we confronted the property manager she threatened to take us to court instead of working with us through this extremely inconvenient situation. I would recommend never living at this apartment complex and to look anywhere else for a good home, but here.

Please do not waste your money living here!!! I lived here for two years and it was just one awful experience after another. -Awful maintenance. With the exception of maybe one or two of them. They are very slow to fix anything if they even bother doing it at all. I had no A/C all summer! (2016) My deck was literally rotting off the back of my apartment and they wouldn't fix it because it "wasn't a necessity."-Living in a tow home with no yard and a rotting deck I opted to leave my kids two (small) bikes right outside the front door. Was never a problem until the week before I moved out. Management took them and locked them in the leasing office and charged me to get them back. No warning or notice.-Awful, rude and unprofessional management. One of the girls in the leasing office is known for sleeping around with the tenets and sending nudes out to guys that live in the complex. Very rude when you call up there, when they even bother to answer the phone. They are all usually standing outside smoking and on their phones. -The one thing about the complex I really liked was their pool. Unfortunately, it takes them usually until July to open it and then it's usually open whenever they feel like unlocking the gate. Sometimes it's open by 9 or 10am and sometimes it's not open until 2 or 3pm. Or it'll randomly be closed for 3 days for no apparent reason. Sunday's are the worst days to go to the pool. Since the leasing office is closed everyone from the surrounding apartments comes and it's usually really rowdy and loud. Even had people having sex in the pool in the middle of the day more than once. Complained but nothing was ever done. -These people don't care about their tenets. All they care about is money. They will raise your rent, charge you for stupid random things, and the late fees are outrageous. There are way better places to rent from in Whitehall. Don't waste your hard earned money here!!

They shady. It always happens the same in this area and in this industry. The moment the ink dries, enshitification begins. Carlton realities haven't helped matters. Its slow at first. Tiny things start piling up. In this case it is typical problems of the infrastructure being ancient. I've been here 5 years. Rendering the place no longer worth it even with the basement that I liked because I can use it as a studio and storage space. No upgrades, but they're oh so happy to price jump rapidly to match market rate. I can't run a portable heater or clothes steamer in the living room without blowing a circuit. My pipes keep having problems with slows and leaks. One time it came through the ceiling from the tub. I was on the list to not have my backyard plants cut due to other unit's weeds. They cut it anyway. The faucet head is straight up boken. They want to charge people for insurance that's already on file. And play games with the lease numbers in the most nightmare bureaucratic way possible. Every winter they have to turn the heater on, and summer turn the AC on. Its a maintenance request every 6 months. I like the maintenance team. Thankfully they're responsive, but even they have started to go into decline. Why they always find an excuse to come in and check for people sleeping in the basements? Which idk how because the sewage smell from the pump gets pretty bad at times. And at this point they need to put up assigned parking because this is getting ridiculous. I am seriously disappointed in the leadership here. Mostly because it used to be stellar. I'm jumping ship first chance and I see massive turnover happening in here. I notice people jumping ship and I recommend you do so as well.I don't hate the office. I just don't trust them. They used to be accommodating and pleasant to work with, but I guess retention is no longer a concern for them.

Property managers are very timely and responsive to any issues. I think they genuinely want happy tenants and a nice community for all (they live on the property, as well).Everyone has been a pleasure to deal with since the move in date back in October 2020. We received a lovely welcome basket, too, which was such a lovely, personal touch.

We have only been here a few months but we have been extremely pleased with the apartment and the staff. Any maintenance issue has been addressed quickly and efficiently. Also a very quiet area. I would recommend to others.

Probably the worst place you could move into. Completely run by slum lords. Never late on a payment or had a complaint against us and they threatened eviction about 20x in our three years of residence. They constantly had inspections which made us feel as if we were under supervision. Office staff are completely rude and act as if helping their residents is a major inconvenience. Our apartment flooded 3x doing around $2000 in damages and they never fixed it properly or offered to compensate for our damaged property. Had a bad stabbing in the complex that left a trail of blood 5 feet from our front door. Nothing was done to improve safety. They even waited 3 days to let the rain clean up the blood. When we moved out they attempted to charge us to replace the carpet because it was simply old. It used to be such a nice complex when we first moved in, but new management came in and allowed it to go downhill so fast. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Big Walnut Apartments.
